Chapter 1618: Section 1619: Imprisonment
The Demon concealed in the dark Void–Sebastian, while he claimed he was waiting for Asaz to die, had not withdrawn his observing gaze.
Sebastian originally didn’t care about the two Official Wizards who had suddenly appeared. His previous Sacrificer–Tubal, had garnered the animosity of too many wizards looking to kill him while he mingled in the Northern Territory Wizard World. Sebastian had seen even larger spectacles than this.
He was even somewhat pleased. Perhaps under the pressure of these two wizards, Asaz would start sacrificing living humans as gourmet offerings.
Unfortunately, Asaz was like one with a fervent stubbornness, not conceding even at the brink of life and death.
Sebastian didn’t pay much attention to those two Wizards, however, when Angel spoke those words, a hint of astonishment and doubt flashed through the Demon Eyes in the dark Void.
—-The fire of a Flame Pattern Demon isn’t so easily dispelled.
How did he know I am a Flame Pattern Demon?
Flame Pattern Demons are the nobility among demons, not only are they seldom in number, but they also barely ever appear on the surface layer of the Abyss. With the current exploration of the Abyss by the Southern Domain Wizard World, those who have seen Flame Pattern Demons are extremely rare. Even rarer are those who can discern the flame of a Flame Pattern Demon at a single glance.
How did this Angel discover it?
It should be noted that even Asaz and Tubal were unaware of Sebastian’s exact species.
While Sebastian was perplexed, Angel took the initiative to undertake the task of exorcising the Demon’s Fire.
Sebastian did not believe his flame could be so easily driven away by someone, but the reality was completely contrary to what he envisaged. As he deliberated, the Demon’s Fire burning on the young girl’s body was guided into Angel’s palm.
It wasn’t extinguished, and Angel even held onto the Demon’s Fire?!
This unsettled Sebastian somewhat; the fire he had just secretly released was emanated directly from his own body. Meaning, it had not experienced any reduction in scale.
According to his thought, even if the fire didn’t claim the girl’s life, it would still cause her significant harm.
How was Angel able to hold onto such intense Demonic Fire?
Sebastian’s curiosity reached its peak, unable to hold back, he bestowed a sliver of Demonic Power onto Asaz, laying it upon his eyes, wishing to scrutinize the wizard he had previously not cared about at all.
Asaz, too, felt puzzled at this moment, why would Sebastian suddenly bestow Demonic Power?
While Asaz was perplexed, Sebastian’s voice reverberated once again in his mind: “So it is the Flame Mark of Odeclass… interesting, someone actually managed to acquire the Mark from it.”
Odeclass is a Flame Dragon, just one step away from entering the realm of a Lord. Its flames are of a much higher level compared to Sebastian’s, which is why Angel effortlessly dispelled the Demon’s Fire.
Of course, this was also because Sebastian currently was not within the Wizard World; therefore, the Demon’s Fire within Greya couldn’t be manipulated by him, otherwise it would’ve been much harder for Angel to expel it.
If he could drive away his fire, that’s because of the Flame Mark. But how did he recognize him as a Flame Pattern Demon?
Sebastian: “His name is Angel, right?”
Asaz nodded. As long as it did not involve sacrificing humans, Asaz did not mind communicating with Sebastian.
“I need information about him, what do you know?”
Asaz was silent for a moment: “I haven’t paid much attention to him, only know that he comes from the Barbarian Cave, and his Mentor is the Illusion Master Sanders.”
“And then?”
“…I don’t know more.”
Sebastian chuckled lightly: “I can read your mind, you are hiding something. But no matter, I am now offering you a chance, I can save you, and this time I won’t insist on you sacrificing humans.”
“You can’t possibly be helping me without wanting something in return.”
“I do have a few demands. I want you to construct a passage with Demonic Power, drawing this Angel into the Void. I am somewhat interested in him and would like to have a chat,”
Asaz asked, “How is that different from sacrificing a human?”
“Of course there’s a difference. At the very least, I won’t eat him,” Sebastian said, adding in his heart that he dared not do so with the Flame Mark of Odeclass present; he couldn’t withstand the backlash of the mark at this time.
“But to me, there’s no difference from sacrificing a human,” Asaz didn’t want to discuss the matter further and directly withdrew from the thought consciousness.
Meanwhile, Angel had finally expelled all the Demon’s Fire from within Greya’s body.
“Thank you,” Greya sighed in relief. Without Angel’s help, she might have fallen here. Her flesh had finally attuned to her soul, and if this body were lost, finding another suitable one would not be easy.
Angel remained silent for a long time, prompting Greya to look at him with confusion.
She saw Angel quietly observing the black flames dancing in his palm.
The shape of the flames twisted and changed, at times a confused mass, and at times morphing into the shape of a demon, looking fierce and horrifying.
After a long while, Angel sighed, his eyes filled with a hint of regret.
“What’s wrong?” Greya asked, puzzled.
“The nature of this fire is very suitable for refining alchemy tools with added fear attributes. Regrettably, there is still a demon’s will lingering in the fire, which I cannot control,” Angel had wanted to collect the fire, but the will of the demon within was too potent. “If it were ownerless fire, that would be better.”
Killing this demon would render the fire ownerless. However, it was not so simple to slay a demon hiding in the Void, especially the one with a Flame Mark.
Angel sighed again and extended his hand to pinch, and with a swirl of green patterns, the black flame turned into a spark and completely dissipated in the air.
Greya looked at Angel somewhat speechlessly, having thought there was something peculiar about the Demon’s Fire. It turned out Angel was thinking about alchemy… Although, that fire did seem suitable for cooking, too.
Greya shook off these irrelevant thoughts from her mind and decided to deal with Asaz’s matter first.
With a grim expression, Greya strode towards Asaz. She did not conceal her murderous intent, and combined with an extremely intense pressure, Asaz felt as though a sharp sword pointed directly at his brow.
Having just been deceived, Greya’s resentment naturally surged.
Even though she knew that it wasn’t Asaz who had deceived her just now but the demon behind him, as the Sacrificer, Asaz could not escape involvement.
Greya very much wanted to kill Asaz right there.
Even Asaz himself felt that in the next second, he would plummet into the depths of death. But at that moment, Angel coughed lightly.
Greya looked at Angel and in the end, refrained from striking.
Angel wanted an explanation, and she respected his wishes. Besides, she was also curious to hear what Asaz had to say.
When the pressure was withdrawn, Asaz, gasping for air, cast a grateful look at Angel.
“Let’s go back before we talk. This isn’t the place for conversation,” Angel glanced at the corridor with his eyes. Although all the doors were tightly shut, he could still hear panting from some rooms.
Greya nodded. To prevent the demon from wreaking havoc again, she restrained Asaz in a special way.
But Greya was overcautious; the extent of the force Sebastian could commit had already reached its limit just now, unless it crossed from the Void to the Wizards’ Realm.
If Sebastian truly crossed over to the Reality Realm, there would be no fear. This was Sky Mechanical City, and it would definitely not allow Sebastian to act freely.
After restraining Asaz, Greya nodded towards Angel: “Let’s go.”
