Chapter 838: Chapter 838 Essence
People around heard Qin Hao’s words, realized what was happening, and all looked at Pei Yingcai.
Pei Yingcai’s face changed, incredibly embarrassed. He didn’t know what to say at this moment. If he let Qin Hao stay, wouldn’t it mean that their casino couldn’t afford to lose?
“A few billion, that’s all. Can’t afford to lose? If you can’t afford to lose, I can give it to you,” Qin Hao said, his face full of mockery.
Pei Yingcai quickly thought of a countermeasure and said, “Impossible. I can still afford to lose that little bit of money. But I suspect you cheated somehow. We need to check the surveillance footage. If you didn’t cheat, I’ll apologize to you, and you’ll be free to leave.”
Qin Hao: “Sure, feel free to check it right here. Let’s everyone see if I cheated.”
Soon, the surveillance department sent over the footage. Pei Yingcai watched, and so did everyone else. They couldn’t see anything unusual at all.
The footage played again and again.
Finally, Qin Hao said, “Any problems, young master?”
Pei Yingcai: “No problems. I’m sorry, sir, I apologize for what happened earlier.”
Even though he said this, he remembered Qin Hao in his heart. While he couldn’t do much to him on the spaceship, once they disembarked, he’d make sure Qin Hao understood his power.
Qin Hao: “I want to know, since you’re the person in charge of the casino, why are you gambling at our table? Are you colluding with the dealer to cheat us? Also, everyone, please look closely at the footage at three minutes and fifteen seconds. Check where the croupier dealt the card from.”
Pei Yingcai and the croupier’s faces changed slightly upon hearing this. The others demanded the video be replayed to see the footage of that time frame.
“Let us see the footage from that time frame. Replay it quickly.”
“Replay it, let’s have a good look.”
Pei Yingcai’s face was as dark as iron. Such a hidden move, even careful observers wouldn’t necessarily notice it. How did he discover it?
For a moment, Pei Yingcai didn’t know what to do.
More and more people demanded to see the replay, including a few who had been gambling at the table earlier. They all insisted on seeing it in detail.
“Why don’t you dare let us see it? This dirty casino, we’ll smash it up.”
The number of people demanding to see the replay increased. Others gathered around, and upon learning the situation, they too demanded to see the footage.
The situation was getting out of control. If Pei Yingcai didn’t let them see it, they might really smash up his casino.
Finally, he said, “Replay the footage, let them see it.”
The footage replayed, and soon it was at three minutes and fifteen seconds. Qin Hao immediately shouted, “Pause it.”
The video paused. At this moment, all eyes were on the croupier’s hand, she was drawing a card but hadn’t drawn it completely yet.
“Slow it down by ten times, play for half a second, and pause.” Qin Hao said.
Pei Yingcai’s face was darker than ever. With so many people watching, he had no choice but to play as required.
When the video paused again, the croupier had drawn more than half of the card. It was now apparent.
The card was not drawn from the top but from the middle of the deck. By the rules, this card should have been the top one.
This card was dealt to Pei Yingcai, and when revealed, it was an ace, which meant Pei Yingcai had a set of aces in that hand.
The crowd only then saw it clearly. The croupier’s technique was too fast; even with surveillance footage, it was hard to spot without slow motion.
“Indeed, there’s something fishy. No wonder I rarely win at this casino, you guys cheat. Compensate us, give us our money back.”
“Yes, give us our money back. You were ripping us off.” Some who lost money chimed in.
“That’s right, give us our money back.”
“No wonder I’ve always been losing, fucking pay up.”
Pei Yingcai’s face darkened as he looked at the croupier who was dealing the cards: “You have some nerve, cheating in my casino, ruining its reputation. Who instructed you?”
The female croupier turned pale and rushed to her knees, pointing to the dealer: “It was him, he said we’d split the profits fifty-fifty.”
“You bastard, someone drag these two out.” Pei Yingcai’s face showed real distress, not just an act.
He was truly embarrassed but mostly angry at Qin Hao.
After that, he said to the gamblers who were there earlier: “We will compensate you for today’s losses. I sincerely apologize for what happened. We will reflect and reform the casino. If anyone tries to take advantage of this, there will be no mercy.”
With that, the casino guards all took out their laser guns, serving as a warning.
The compensation would cost Pei Yingcai dearly. Lan Xin alone lost nearly 1 billion, and the others combined lost over 2 billion.
This no longer concerned Qin Hao. He turned and walked out. Initially, he didn’t plan to expose Pei Yingcai and his cronies, but Pei had pushed too far.
He considered it a good deed. Every casino has its tricks. Maybe this would help some people see the true nature of casinos and stay away from them.
Pei Yingcai was indeed clever, reacting quickly and putting the blame on the croupier and dealer.
Nonetheless, he suffered heavy losses, having to compensate Lan Xin and the others with billions.
Pei Yingcai watched Qin Hao’s departing back with a vengeful look, longing to tear him apart.
“You wait. When the spaceship reaches Anning Star, it will be your death day.”
Just as Qin Hao was about to leave the casino, Lan Xin caught up. She shouted, “Hey, wait.”
Qin Hao stopped and turned around to look at Lan Xin: “Are you calling me?”
“Yes, I’m calling you,” Lan Xi chuckled.
Qin Hao asked, “Is there something you need from me?”
Lan Xin walked to his side and looked at him curiously: “What’s your name? I’m Lan Xin. Can we be friends?”
Qin Hao looked at her, then at the bodyguards behind her, all with vigilant expressions: “Sure, more friends, more paths. My name is Qin Ritian.”
“Pfff!”
Lan Xin laughed upon hearing his name: “Qin Ritian? What were your parents thinking, to give you a name like that?”
Qin Hao’s face turned black: “Making fun of someone’s name is very disrespectful.”
Lan Xin explained, “Don’t take it the wrong way, it’s just that I’ve never heard a name like that. Let me treat you to a meal.”
The group moved to the spaceship’s upscale restaurant. Qin Hao and Lan Xin sat across from each other, with Luna, Jiao Rou, and Leng Xuan standing nearby. Lan Xi’s maid and bodyguards also stood by.
Lan Xin looked at Qin Hao and asked, “That 2-3-5 hand you played earlier, how did you do it? Do you often go to casinos?”
