Chapter 837: Chapter 837: Desperate in Defeat
“This guy’s luck is off the charts. He just won over a billion in one go. If I had that kind of money, I wouldn’t work another day in my life.”
“He’s so handsome! I’d love to spend the night with him.”
Lan Xin snorted and replied, “No need. I don’t lack that kind of money.”
Pei Yingcai heard the comments around him and sneered internally. A bunch of fools. This is just one of the casino’s tricks.
He won this round, but soon he would start losing, giving all his money back to the casino. Once all the money went to the house, he’d make his exit.
Pei Yingcai looked at Qin Hao and said, “Buddy, do you even need to look at your cards?”
Qin Hao smiled faintly, “Why not look? Maybe my cards are even better than yours.”
“Better? Is he kidding? What cards could beat my three Aces?” someone sneered.
“Don’t be so sure. There’s one hand that beats three Aces–an off-suit 2-3-5. It trumps everything if it’s in dark. If it’s shown, it’s useless.”
“The odds of getting an off-suit 2-3-5 are even smaller than three Aces. How likely is that?”
“Exactly. If he pulls an off-suit 2-3-5, I’ll eat my own shit.”
…
Pei Yingcai narrowed his eyes slightly and said with a faint smile, “If you can pull an off-suit 2-3-5, it would certainly be unbeatable, but do you think that’s likely?”
The croupier, who worked for the casino, knew exactly what cards everyone had and who was winning.
The house and the croupier had secretly brought in Pei Yingcai because earlier, Qin Hao had shown three Aces.
According to the croupier’s dealing, that hand was supposed to be the house’s win, while the others’ hands were weak. Yet Qin Hao somehow ended up with three Aces, and no one saw how he cheated.
Even the surveillance team didn’t catch it. If they had, they would’ve notified the floor right away and he would’ve been caught.
They figured they were dealing with a pro and called in Pei Yingcai.
Qin Hao looked at Pei Yingcai, smiling: “I’m about to reveal my cards. You’d better watch closely and brace yourself. Don’t act like you didn’t lose fair and square.”
The croupier then abruptly said, “Sir, for fairness, let me reveal your cards using special tools. I won’t touch your cards.”
Qin Hao glanced at her, “Why don’t you help others reveal their cards? Why only me? Anyway, I’m just lucky. Go ahead.”
His tone was full of confidence. Lan Xin turned her head curiously to look at him. Where did he get such confidence? Had he seen his cards already?
That was impossible. Everyone was watching. He couldn’t have peeked at his cards.
The croupier used a tool to reveal the first card–a two of hearts. Seeing this, many held their breath, eyes fixed on the three cards.
The second card was revealed–it was a three of spades.
The whole room fell silent. The few people at the table narrowed their eyes, their gazes sharp–could it really be a 2-3-5?
The dealer was already sweating. If it really was a 2-3-5, the casino would take a huge hit.
Lan Xin looked at Qin Hao in shock. She was starting to believe Qin Hao. With the 2 and 3 already revealed, how far could the 5 be?
The spectators around held their breath, not daring to make a sound, fearing they might disrupt the cards.
The croupier’s hand trembled slightly as she took a deep breath and revealed the final card–a five of diamonds.
Seeing this card, she appeared deflated, and if not for the support of the table, she might have collapsed.
Pei Yingcai’s face was full of shock as he looked at Qin Hao in disbelief. How could this be? How could he draw a 2-3-5 of different suits?
Lan Xin and the onlookers were also stunned. It really was an off-suit 2-3-5! And the cards were revealed by the croupier. Qin Hao hadn’t touched the cards at all.
Because casino rules stated that once a player touched the cards, they could no longer be considered a dark hand.
The guy who promised to eat shit quietly slipped away amidst the shock of the crowd.
Qin Hao turned to Pei Yingcai, smiling, “Sorry, buddy, I won.”
The billions in chips were all Qin Hao’s now.
Qin Hao asked, “Anyone still want to play?”
“Of course. This was nothing. How about we play one-on-one?” Pei Yingcai said with a faint smile.
The middle-aged man, the glasses-wearing man, Lan Xin, and the house had no objections. They were not ready to make a move yet. Qin Hao’s performance was too unusual. They needed to observe more.
Qin Hao looked at him and said, “How do you want to play?”
Pei Yingcai: “Still three-card poker, highest hand wins, but we play open-handed. The croupier will reveal the cards directly.”
Qin Hao: “Sure, let’s do it.”
“I’ll start with a billion.” With that, Pei Yingcai tossed in a billion in chips.
Qin Hao smiled, “A billion is too little. How about ten billion?”
Pei Yingcai was taken aback. Ten billion? If he didn’t match it, the croupier wouldn’t deal the cards and Qin Hao would win by default.
“Ten billion it is, deal the cards.” Pei Yingcai said immediately.
Ten billion might be nothing to Qin Hao, but for Pei Yingcai, it was his limit. If he lost this, he’d face heavy punishment from his family.
The croupier took a deep breath and first dealt Pei Yingcai a ten of hearts, then a jack of spades to Qin Hao.
In the second round of dealing, Pei Yingcai got a nine of hearts, while Qin Hao got a two of diamonds.
Qin Hao was leading by one point, but Pei Yingcai’s cards had the potential for a flush, straight flush, or straight. The best Qin Hao could do was a pair of jacks, a significant difference.
“Deal the third card,” Pei Yingcai said with a faint smile.
This croupier was the best at sleight of hand, even surveillance couldn’t catch her cheating.
Pei Yingcai’s third card was supposed to be an eight of hearts for a straight flush.
The third card revealed for Pei Yingcai was a two of spades.
The croupier was stunned, and so was Pei Yingcai. How could it be a two of spades? What the hell was going on? Could the croupier be a traitor?
Impossible! This croupier had been their family’s slave for years. Betrayal was out of the question.
He turned to Qin Hao: “You’re cheating! It has to be you cheating!”
Qin Hao looked at him disdainfully. “The croupier dealt the cards. I didn’t even touch them. You say I’m cheating? With all these people watching? If you can’t afford to lose, don’t play. I thought you had more money. Can’t even afford ten billion? This is no fun. I’m out.”
“Stop! Block him,” Pei Yingcai ordered, losing his composure.
Instantly, the casino’s security staff surrounded them, blocking Qin Hao and the others’ exit.
Qin Hao remained calm, smiling: “So you and the casino are in cahoots?”
