Chapter 611: Chapter 377: Fear of the Movie_3
Shen Xueqing’s heart trembled as she pulled out her phone and turned on the camera to face her own cheek.
In the phone screen, countless black hairs crept out from her left cheek, moving like needles and thread, weaving back and forth beneath the flesh to form a black-haired human face, outrageously eerie.
As if noticing Shen Xueqing’s gaze, the black-haired face revealed a sinister smile.
Whoosh!
Shen Xueqing couldn’t take it any longer and tore off the Hundred Ghosts 3D Glasses. Everything on her phone screen returned to normal, and her cheek showed no alteration.
It was a false alarm.
Shen Xueqing kept touching her face, her heart still pounding fiercely, feeling an unusual surge of thrill and astonishment.
“Indeed, the manufacturing power of the Jieke Group in the field of horror is truly astonishing,” she mused.
After the fear had passed, the feeling of exhilaration made Shen Xueqing unable to help but crack a smile.
Unfortunately, there were few in the audience like Shen Xueqing who relished the sensation of fear; the majority were scared stiff.
Especially during the scene where the female ghost emerged from the screen, many believed that there was a real haunting. Some ran away frightened, others tremblingly picked up their phones to call the police, while some hid under their chairs, with all kinds of reactions emerging.
In the movie, the plot continued, and the female protagonist ultimately could not escape her fate of death.
All her muscle fibers transformed into fine black hairs, turning her into a statue made of black hair.
And through the dying eyes of the female protagonist, time reversed to the day they had their barbecue party by the lake; they had trespassed into a tomb left by Tomb Robbers and unexpectedly discovered another burial pit, where they found some antiques and recklessly destroyed them.
This was the reason why the Ghost Bride was determined to kill them.
The movie ended with the death of the female protagonist, and as the screen darkened and the credits appeared, all the viewers finally breathed a sigh of relief. The fright the movie had brought them was a bit too much.
After the black screen thanked the cast and crew, there was a sudden flash.
“Is there a post-credit scene?”
Jia Changxu’s eyes lit up as the movie showed the male protagonist, who had miraculously survived, being recruited into a peculiar department called the Special Event Bureau.
There, the male protagonist encountered file after file of various Fierce Ghosts, White Bone Bodhisattva, Butcher, night watchman, hanging ghost, Painted Skin, Starving Ghost…
It turned out that as early as six months prior, all over the world, incidents of ghost revivals had occurred, with monsters and specters from horror legends wreaking havoc amongst the living.
In the shock of the male protagonist, the two-minute post-credit scene quickly ended, laying the groundwork for a future Fierce Ghost universe.
“Incredible, truly incredible. I’ve never seen such an astonishing horror film; it has surpassed all my imaginations of a horror movie,” Jia Changxu reveled, his face flush with excitement. This “Wedding Dress” movie had shattered his understanding of horror films. Horror could be so frighteningly crafted, and though the level of terror was quite high, for him, it was absolutely worth the experience.
And in the audience, many shared Jia Changxu’s sentiments, having grown used to the psychologically twisted endings of horror films from Hua Country. “Wedding Dress” undoubtedly offered them an entirely new experience.
Someone started clapping, and suddenly applause echoed throughout the cinema.
What the audience didn’t know, however, was that while they were surprised by the movie, the fear they had felt during the viewing was being continuously sucked into a hard drive plugged in backstage at the cinema.
As they left the cinema, Shen Xueqing said to Jia Changxu, who was standing with wobbly legs, “How about that? I told you Jieke Group’s horror movies are scary. You didn’t believe me. Did you get scared just now?”
“Scared me stiff; I was wrong. I didn’t expect Jieke Group’s first filmed movie to be so powerful. This ‘Wedding Dress’ movie has conquered me,” he admitted.
Though he wanted to protest, Jia Changxu had been so frightened he ended up removing his Hundred Ghosts 3D Glasses, too embarrassed to say it outright.
And in his heart, Jia Changxu decided that even if the Jieke Group didn’t pay him, he would still recommend the “Wedding Dress” to his fans. With such an impressive film, there was no way he’d be the only one scared witless. Shared joys are doubled, after all.
