Chapter 600: Chapter 371: Impact
“This… this is….”
Faced with the gruesome reality, Pamom and the other monks all had extremely troubled expressions on their faces.
All the secrets they had so carefully concealed were revealed, and their painstakingly curated image crumbled entirely.
“Commander Su, there’s more to be found over here,”
Hao Guang, leading a group of Genetic Warriors, discovered an enormous wealth in a secret chamber.
Walking forward, Su Jie saw densely packed gold and jewels, thousands of gold bars, weighing tons in various other forms of gold jewelry, diamonds, antiques, and gemstones.
There were also those precious pure gold Buddha statues, crowns, small elephants, and more–just these were highly valuable, not to mention the stock-holding documents, a large number of property deeds, and commercial land deeds, including luxury properties domestic and abroad, which were incredibly valuable.
One could imagine just how much money these revered monks had garnered.
Su Jie casually picked up a land deed, noting it was for a fine rice paddy, measured in tens of thousands of hectares.
“I really underestimated you guys! Not only do you know how to play, but your moneymaking tactics are nothing less than impressive! Doesn’t your Buddhism preach about the emptiness of materialism? How do you explain all this then!”
Faced with Su Jie’s mockery, Pamom turned pale, bright evidence laid before him, yet he still tried to defend himself, with palms pressed together, “Amitabha, this wealth is simply from generous donors offering voluntarily, we never intended it for ourselves but to aid some needy followers.”
“Do you think everyone here is a fool?”
With an expression that viewed others as idiots, Su Jie waved his hand towards the soldiers, “Interrogate these monks thoroughly, dig out all their secrets.”
The soldiers, ignoring the struggling monks, took them away for interrogation, accompanied by punches, kicks, and screams that echoed in the chamber.
“Bring the reporters over, publicize everything happening here.”
As Su Jie left the underground chamber, Baiya had already summoned the police and medical staff to escort the imprisoned women out.
However, as soon as he left the underground chamber, Su Jie heard a tumultuous roar from outside.
“Quickly release the Monk King!”
“You thugs, what exactly have you done to the Monk King?”
“Everyone, charge in to rescue the Monk King, we can’t let them defile our Buddhist Saint Monk.”
The volume of these voices transmitted even within the Buddhist temple.
“Commander Su, many Buddhists and monks from outside are here, demanding that we release Pamom,” Hao Guang reported to Su Jie after hearing the stationed soldiers’ report.
Su Jie frowned and walked toward the exterior.
At the entrance of the Buddhist temple, he saw a massive crowd of Buddhists and monks, numbering tens of thousands, an endless sea of people, with more still arriving.
Leading them were monks from nearby temples who, upon hearing of Moran Temple’s situation, rushed over in support.
Behind them stood dense crowds of devout Buddhists, who, upon hearing that Pamom had been taken by the Jieke Group, spontaneously organized and rallied others via the Internet to rescue their revered deity.
In front of these Buddhists stood a wall of Jieke Soldiers, backed further by tanks, armored vehicles, and Spider Mechas, blocking the Buddhists from approaching.
Compared to the Buddhists, the Jieke Soldiers only numbered over a thousand, with some still inside the temple, making the disparity in numbers quite evident.
At one corner outside the temple, several Jieke Soldiers were surrounded by a large group of Buddhists, enduring punches and kicks from the frenzied crowd until an armored vehicle had to come to their rescue.
Seeing the situation, Baiya expressed his concern, “Mr. Su, should we maybe calm these Buddhists by displaying the evidence? Once the misdeeds of Pamom and the others are revealed, these Buddhists will likely disperse on their own.”
“With the crowd this agitated and the atmosphere so frenzied, do you think they will believe what we say, or will they trust their Monk King and not think we are framing him?”
With a cold laugh, Su Jie instructed, “Bring Pamom and the others here; nothing will go into disarray in Siam under my watch.”
Sometime later, a severely beaten Pamom and his group were dragged out like dead dogs.
“Esteemed monks, this group has defiled our pure temple and harmed our senior monks, strike them down swiftly.”
Seeing the vast array of Buddhists, Pamom’s spirits lifted, and along with the other imprisoned monks, he started loudly crying for help and inciting the crowd.
The Buddhists, stupefied upon seeing Pamom’s dire conditions, were instantly enraged and recklessly charged forward, pushing the Jieke Soldiers.
“Execute any insurgent on the spot without exception,”
With the order given, Su Jie coldly commanded.
As bolts were pulled back, the Jieke Soldiers began firing warning shots into the air, cautioning the Buddhists to stay back.
But these Buddhists were the most fanatical of the bunch, and by now, their minds were clouded with rage, undaunted by the Jieke Group’s gun barrels staring them down.
“Don’t be afraid, everyone, there are so many of us, they wouldn’t dare to shoot,”
the leading Buddhist shouted, loudly inciting and boosting morale.
“Charge, rescue the Monk King.”
“Take down these damned soldiers.”
“Let them see our power, Buddhism is not their playground.”
Facing the dark gun barrels of the Jieke Group, the massive number of Buddhists felt an inexplicable courage, perhaps believing in safety in numbers, assuming the Jieke Group wouldn’t dare to take drastic action against them. Some started throwing stones, others molotov cocktails, and some charged with steel pipes, aiming to push back the Jieke Group and show their unity.
“Fire, shoot the approaching rioters.”
To this, Su Jie merely uttered two indifferent words.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
No sooner had he spoken than the Jieke soldiers pulled their triggers, their guns spewing flames, bullets instantly striking the fragile human bodies.
As it was close-range firing, the bullets entered the bodies and violently tumbled through flesh, causing several times more damage to surrounding muscle tissue, organs, and blood vessels.
A bullet entering from the front left a small hole, but the exit wound in the back was a large, bowl-sized bloody hole, seeping copious amounts of blood, protruding innards, and turned-out yellow subcutaneous fat…
The front of the Buddhist temple resembled a wheat-harvesting scene, as the charging Buddhists continually fell.
Meanwhile, tanks and armored vehicles, and even Spider Main Battle Mechas in the rear, also fired, their 20mm and even 30mm machine guns roaring, the large caliber bullets directly shattering the bodies they hit.
Due to the dense crowd, the machine gun fire tore through dozens of bodies without pausing.
The whole scene was devastated like a storm, instantly clearing out a large area in the front of the densely packed crowd.
Initially, these fanatical Buddhists and monks continued to charge instinctively until the deafening gunfire startled them into the realization that the Jieke Group was indeed shooting.
“They’re shooting, they’re killing, the Jieke Group is killing!”
In the face of blood and death, those Buddhists who had just been fervently chanting to overthrow the Jieke Group were now frantically scared, turning and scrambling to escape, using every bit of energy they had.
At the scene, the ground was already covered with a massive number of corpses, as well as Buddhists who had been hit in the arms and legs, suffering immense pain. Their screams were continuous; many rapidly lost blood, went into shock, or even died. In just a short time of firing, several thousand were wounded or killed.
“Catch all these rioters.”
Hao Guang conveyed the order via radio, and one by one, armored vehicles, tanks, and Spider Main Battle Mechas moved, driving the fleeing Buddhists like ducks, forcing them with machine guns to kneel and surrender.
Under the threat of gun barrels, having seen the ferocity of the Jieke Group, all the Buddhists and monks were pale-faced, hurriedly kneeling with hands over their heads, begging for mercy.
These people were deeply regretting, for since the Jieke Group had been in the country, they had only fought the soldiers of Siam and had not targeted civilians, leading them to overlook the military prowess of the Jieke Group and unilaterally believing that the Jieke Group would not choose to shoot at their violent acts.
Unfortunately for them, they were wrong and paid a bloody price.
“This, this, this…”
Baiya stared blankly, not expecting that Su Jie would order the troops to fire, creating such a tragic scene.
The heavy smell of blood at the scene made him, a pampered king, unable to bear any longer, bending over to vomit.
Pamom and other senior monks were all dumbfounded as well; they too had not anticipated that the Jieke Group would actually dare to shoot at Buddhists; it was simply madness.
As for Su Jie, he was indifferent to the bloodshed on the scene, expressionlessly taking the charges extracted from Pamom and the others by Liu Yingying.
After reading these appalling charges, Su Jie waved his hand, “Monk King, right? Senior monks, right? Bad luck running into me. You like to indulge in wealth and torment women, right? Then let’s cut off their eyes, ears, noses, tongues, hair, and roots of anxiety, making them pure in all six senses–this wouldn’t be considered disgracing Buddha’s teachings to you. After cleaning them up, execute them by gunfire to send them on their way, give them a proper burial.”
Hearing this, all the senior monks present were scared witless.
“I am the Monk King; you can’t do this, Buddha won’t forgive you.”
“You scoundrel, you will definitely go to Hell after death.”
“I am willing to relinquish power, will always heed the words of the Jieke Group, spare my life.”
Facing the curses and pleas of these senior monks, Su Jie just pointed to those women who had been brought out, many of whom had been tortured into mental disorders or disfigurements.
“Everything you have done deserves such treatment, and as for whether I will go to Hell, it depends on whether Hell here dares to take me, or whether your Buddha would come down to fight me, to see if your Buddha could save you.”
Su Jie’s voice was cold, and these blasphemous remarks towards Buddha appeared extremely arrogant and brutal in the eyes of these senior monks.
