The receptionist was indeed embarrassed and stammered.

Chris’ face darkened when I mentioned my mother. He would rather be mocked by me than say anything else.
I gritted my teeth and forced him again, “I could solve the financial problem, but I want to know where my mother is! When you truly want to solve the problem and are willing to tell me the truth, find me again. Otherwise, if the company even went bankrupt, I wouldn’t compromise!”
With that, I turned around and left with my head held high, making myself look very free and easy.
Behind me, Chris wanted to yell at me, but he had to swallow his anger.
When I reached the office lobby, a black limousine was parked outside the building.
A young woman walked past and stared at the handsome man in the window with a look of envy, but the man did not look at them.
When he saw me, he got out of the car and opened the door for me. He then tactfully fastened my seatbelt.
I sat in the car, looked at his handsome side profile, and felt like we were on a date. My heart raced. “Where are you taking me?”
