Smile stood nearby, watching. Ever since witnessing the Makeup Artist’s unsettling demeanor as he worked, he felt a creeping dread.

“Now that we’re at the headquarters, there’s no need to hide our eyes and ears. Is putting on makeup really necessary?” Smile asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

The Makeup Artist stared at her with deadpan eyes. Despite her loli-like appearance, she radiated a hint of sinister energy. “Isn’t it good?”

Smile felt a chill run down his spine. “No, it’s beautiful,” she quickly replied, hoping to placate the unsettling presence.

She couldn’t help but wonder if the twin sisters of the Katie family had a peculiar fascination with dolls.

Both the Makeup Artist and Tally belonged to the Katie family. They were twin sisters and formidable hypnotists. Tally, known as a witch, practiced a darker form of hypnosis, while the Makeup Artist was even more skilled than her sister.

However, when she was born with a large birthmark that covered half her face–an unsightly mark deemed ominous by the priests–the Katie family abandoned her. Being an ancient family that held a strong belief in God, they regarded the priest as the messenger of the divine.

Eventually, the family leader took the Makeup Artist in.

Smile, hailing from a war-torn region in the western part of Continent Y, was rescued by the leader, Ryan Noble, during the conflict. Before meeting him, he had only known a life of war, witnessing people without homes, covered in dust, and living in despair.

On the day the leader rescued him from the war, he smiled at the young boy and extended his hand, asking if he wanted to see a peaceful world.

Later, he joined Utopia, adopting the name Smile.

Smile and the Makeup Artist grew up together within the organization, forging a deep bond. As children, they often acted playfully, enjoying harmless pranks that their fellow members had come to expect.

Despite their youth, they were both seasoned members of Utopia, brought in by the leader. Thanks to their exceptional hacking and makeup skills, they earned their places among the twelve elders of Utopia. Smile held the title of the Fifth Elder, while the Makeup Artist was the Seventh Elder.

However, there were only eleven elders remaining in Utopia; the former Twelfth Elder had been killed by a mysterious underground faction known as the Lord, which was active in Continent M.

At that moment, the base laboratory was occupied solely by the elders.

A figure wearing the black-and-white mask of the Weeping Clown approached. “Makeup Artist, there’s an issue with the leader. Go and remove his makeup.”

This was the Eighth Elder of Utopia and the top assassin on the Dark Network, known as Weeping Clown.

Upon hearing that it was a directive from the leader, the Makeup Artist’s enthusiasm surged. “I’ll be right there!”
