Chapter 26: Husband’s True Identity, Part VII

Usually, Tao Yaoyao didn’t feel that she was really married to Feng Zhuo even though they had signed a three-month contract. But now, at this moment, she felt as if she was really married to this man and she was going to be staying with him for a lifetime.

She looked at her raised finger. The crystal dazzled, and her eyes beamed.

“Do you like it?” Standing next to her, Feng Zhuo asked in a soft tone.

“I love it. I like it very much!” Tao Yaoyao nodded vigorously.

“Let’s pay the bill then.”

When Feng Zhuo said this, Tao Yaoyao decided to check the price, but found that this ring wasn’t priced. It was only this ring in the cabinet, so it was impossible to estimate the price.

Tao Yaoyao was about to ask the salesperson how much it cost, but the salesperson had already taken Feng Zhuo’s card to the cashier.

“How much was it?” Tao Yaoyao approached Feng Zhuo and asked in a low voice.

The crystal looked nice, but if it was really expensive, she didn’t want Feng Zhuo to spend the money.

Feng Zhuo replied indifferently, “600.”

Tao Yaoyao was surprised. “Wow, it was only 600 yuan? No way. I guess that’s expensive for a crystal, but since it won’t cost you too much money, I’ll accept it. This crystal is really beautiful, even more beautiful and bigger than those pigeon egg diamond rings worn by celebrities. Since it’s so flashy, even if I said it was a pink diamond, no one would doubt it.”

She moved the ring on her hand and suddenly saw what appeared to be an indentation in the band, so she took it off and had a look.

A few English letters were carved into the interior of the band.

She took a closer look and then read out, “C, h, u, c, k…Chuck, Chuck.”

Feng Zhuo, who had been looking away, suddenly turned his head and fixed his gaze on Tao Yaoyao. His eyes were deep and somewhat sullen, but one could discern that there were hidden and suppressed complicated emotions in them.

Tao Yaoyao was startled. “Ah, I remember.”

Feng Zhuo pursed his lips and closed his eyes suddenly.

“It’s Chuck, one of the main characters in Gossip Girl, and there’s Blair as well. I was even a fan of that couple once. I was wondering why this name looked so familiar.” Tao Yaoyao was a little surprised and a little excited. “How strange, this ring actually has his name in it.”

Feng Zhuo opened his eyes, and mirth flashed through his dark eyes. “I’m going to the cash register. You wait for me outside.”

“Huh…I’ll go with you.” Tao Yaoyao hesitated, then followed him.

Feng Zhuo suddenly turned around, stretched out his long arms, and grabbed Tao Yaoyao’s waist.

Tao Yaoyao involuntarily fell into Feng Zhuo’s arms. She was astonished as he looked down at her. His voice low and mellow, he said softly, “Be good, and go outside to wait for me.”

His sultry gesture and mellow voice made Tao Yaoyao’s mind go blank for several seconds, and then she shouted in her heart: ah, ah, ah!

What on earth was this? Wasn’t he simply telling her to go outside and wait? Why were they suddenly embracing each other in broad daylight?

Oh my god, what would other people in the store think of them?

This must be deliberate. He’s deliberately making a fool out of her.

Tao Yaoyao pushed him away like a spring. “Okay, I get it!”

She looked around her. Fortunately, the store wasn’t busy at this time. There were no other customers. There was only one salesperson, the girl who had just helped them. She was busy checking out and wasn’t paying attention to them.

She was happy no one was around or she would have felt extremely humiliated.
