Chapter 52: Dog Walking

It was not hard to figure out that Grandpa Gu asked Jian Sangyu to join him upstairs before asking Gu Chen to join him. That was also when she came downstairs. He had wanted to play two rounds of chess with him yet within two minutes, Grandpa Gu stopped the game.

Then Jian Sangyu successfully got the cell-phone back.

In the entire family, only Grandpa would be able to guess where he would have put Jian Sangyu’s cell-phone. He was brought up by Grandpa alone and Grandpa knew him very well.

Seeing Jian Sangyu nodding, Gu Chen said nothing more.

“I will come home and keep your company on the weekend. If you are too tired to cook, I can hire a nanny for you.” Gu Chen thought for a moment before changing the way he put the following words. “If your company is not too far away from the team, you can come live with me.”

Jian Sangyu got so surprised that the lollipop inside her mouth almost dropped out.

“No, no, no!” Jian Sangyu was scared that Gu Chen would mention this topic. “Please do not! You can live your normal life like you have always been doing, and do not abandon your dearest teammates and guardians just for me sake. That is not right, and that is not professional!”

Jian Sangyu raised her hands. “As long as you don’t come home during the weekend, I promise never to hide any snacks or sneak in ice cream. I also promise that I will eat fewer lollipops!”

She looked so sincere that she could even seal upon a promise letter.

When Gu Chen heard Jian Sangyu speaking in this way last time, he was not feeling anything special.

But when he heard her speaking in this way again, Gu Chen found himself a bit displeased. All of a sudden, he felt that his heart was feeling blocked and fretful.

His face sunk and he stared at Jian Sangyu as he asked coldly, “You don’t like me being at home?”

Jian Sangyu’s eyes drifted about in the room. She tried to avoid making eye contact with Gu Chen.

That was an embarrassing question, too embarrassing for her to answer!

That guy already looked very displeased. If she honestly said that she didn’t like him being home, would he be so annoyed that he would make her follow him back to the team?

Honest words were always harsh. If she lied and he promised that he would come home every weekend, then that would kill her! That was a topic that led to no result like it did last time, and Gu Chen knew that Jian Sangyu would no longer answer him and he knew what Jian Sangyu was thinking. With coldness on his face, he picked up the book and ignored Jian Sangyu completely.

For some reason, he couldn’t read any of the words anymore. He was paying attention to Jian Sangyu when he heard a hissing sound coming from behind him. He knew that she was back on the bed with her cell-phone.

Suddenly, she started to chuckle loudly. Gu Chen was wondering if she was reading something interesting or chatting with someone happily.

Maybe with Jiang Xing?

He was definitely going to make discipline the whole team when he returned this time.

Gu Chen even had the urge of hiding her cell-phone again. Playing cell-phone all day along was a waste of time for young people. Cell-phones had already prevented people from talking face to face with each other, she would rather talk on the cell-phone by herself than talk with him a living person instead.

Fretting, Gu Chen stood up from the desk. Without saying anything, he dragged Jian Sangyu off the bed. “Get up and walk the dog.”

“What are you saying?” Jian Sangyu was confused by Gu Chen’s sudden words. She pointed at the scorching sun outside the window and asked with uncertainty, “It is a hot summer afternoon. And I am going to walk the dog? Are you trying to kill me?”
