Gu Shengyin casually responded, “Maybe the others also didn’t want to escalate things; after all, if a dispute arose, they would be in the wrong.”

Huang Anyuan nodded, “That makes sense.”

The two finished their meal and went home.

Huang Anyuan dropped Gu Shengyin off downstairs, but to her chagrin, as he was leaving, he actually leaned in to kiss her.

Gu Shengyin knew that a small intimacy between lovers wasn’t unusual, but she was not Chang Xuan. Other than her own lover, she couldn’t tolerate any man’s touch.

Feigning extreme shyness, she blushed and pushed Huang Anyuan away, running back under his mixed look of frustration and amusement.
