Chapter 516: Chapter 47: Wendao Bell, The Convergence of Three Meridians_3

That morning, Li Fei was practicing in his room when he suddenly heard a distant bell tolling:

The bell sounded nine times consecutively, echoing through all the peaks of the Daluo Sect!
At this, Daluo Sect disciples on the peaks all showed looks of surprise and turned their gaze toward the central location of Daluo Peak.
The bell that had been rung was known as–Wendao Bell.
It was a True One Magical Artifact left by the Daluo Sect’s founding ancestor!
The bell could aid in enlightenment and Breakthrough, for hearing its toll was like listening to the sound of the Great Dao!
Of course, to achieve such an effect, at least a True Master Level practitioner needed to cast Magic and activate the artifact.
Besides aiding in cultivation, ringing the bell also indicated that something important was happening.
Such as a significant Taoist ceremony, or some major event within the Sect.
The more times the bell rang, the more important the event it denoted.
Nine was the number of extreme, and in the Daluo Sect, aside from the Sacrificial Ceremony, there was only one event that would cause the Wendao Bell to toll nine times–selecting a new Master!
It was far from the time of the Sacrificial Ceremony, so it could only mean the selection of new Master!
While Magicians did not live as long as Martial Artists, with various secret techniques for spirit to nourish the body, a Taoist true person’s lifespan was usually around one hundred and fifty years, while that of a True Monarch was around two hundred years.
Qing Xu True Monarch entered the realm of True Monarch at the age of sixty-eight, became the Master of the Daluo Sect at seventy-two, and had been in charge for fifty-seven years, making him one hundred and twenty-nine this year.
Under normal circumstances, he should have at least sixty more years of life, and since he was neither injured nor sick, why would there suddenly be a need to select a new Master?
Li Fei stepped out of his room and saw Luo Shi also emerging from his door.
They exchanged glances and walked out of the courtyard together.
“Two lords.”
A Daluo Sect Disciple had just approached them, bowing respectfully,
“Our Daluo Sect is selecting a new Master today, please follow me to the Taixu Hall to observe the ceremony.”
“Selecting a new Master?!”
Li Fei and Luo Shi both looked surprised.
Li Fei’s mind raced, remembering how the court had delayed sending them orders these past few days.
He recalled what the Third Prince had said to him: this would be a very good opportunity!
He immediately made many connections.
“Who proposed to select a new Master? Was it Qing Xu True Monarch?”
Li Fei asked.
“The two lords will know once you arrive at Taixu Hall.”
The Daluo Sect Disciple spoke neither humbly nor arrogantly.
“Let’s go.”
Li Fei said.
Thus, he and Luo Shi followed the Daluo Sect Disciple to Taixu Hall.
Passing through a plaza, they noticed it was filled with many Daluo Sect Disciples, most of whom looked bewildered.
Li Fei also spotted Ning Chuan and Ning Xing in the crowd; Ning Xing waved at him, while Ning Chuan exchanged a glance before quickly looking away.
Just as Li Fei was about to continue ahead, the crowd in the plaza suddenly stirred.
Li Fei turned to look and saw two groups entering the plaza.
Both groups wore Taoist robes, but the styles were different from those of the Daluo Sect.
Having participated in the Martial Arts exchange competition, Li Fei immediately recognized them as the robes of the Upper Pure Sect and Yuhua Sect.
Today on Daluo Peak, the three Taoist lineages had gathered!
