Chapter 33: Get Help From Her

Jiang Chi glanced at Gu Xiang, who was eating breakfast, and remembered her temper. Let her have dinner with Mom alone? He would be worried if she was willing to!

Jiang Chi said, “She’s busy too. I’ll bring her home when I am free.”

After that, he said some things to Old Du. Then, he hung up.

Gu Xiang was still eating. He walked over and asked, “Are you done eating?”

She looked up at him. “Why?”

“I’m going to drop you off.” Jiang Chi looked at Gu Xiang. “What? Are you doing to hail a cab on your own?”

It was quite hard to get a cab in their area. Hearing Jiang Chi’s words, she hummed. She didn’t expect him to be so concerned about her!

After Gu Xiang ate, she came down and saw Jiang Chi waiting for her in the car. She opened the door and got in. Jiang Chi drove her to the doorstep of her store and dropped her off.

Gu Xiang stepped in and saw that Bai Wei had not arrived yet. Instead, she saw Xia Wenxuan sitting on the couch.

Gu Xiang was really surprised to see him. “What are you doing here?”

“Gu Xiang.” Xia Wenxuan’s attitude was way better than before. He looked at Gu Xiang. “I need your help.”

“F*ck off.” Gu Xiang did not even want to see him. She felt like even the air had soured.

Xia Wenxuan said, “It’s not about Bai Wei.”

He knew that Gu Xiang was very protective of Bai Wei. Gu Xiang would not agree to persuade Bai Wei to patch things up with him.

Hearing Xia Wenxuan’s words, Gu Xiang sat down and switched on her laptop.

Xia Wenxuan sat by the side and rubbed his arms. Then, he asked carefully. “Are you very close to Jiang Chi?”

“No.” Gu Xiang answered. “Why?”

“Why not? Why would he come and look for you if he wasn’t?” Xia Wenxuan said. “I didn’t expect that you and him would be together.”

Gu Xiang raised her eyebrows. “I wonder who said that I was single because of my bad temper yesterday.”

Xia Wenxuan said, “I was blind!”

Gu Xiang looked down at her computer and dealt with her own matters.

Xia Wenxuan said, “Since you and Jiang Chi are on such good terms, can you arrange for a meal with him?”

Gu Xiang said, “What kind of connection do we have? Why should I help you? You are a f*ckboy and looking at you makes me sick. Please don’t appear before me again.”

Seeing him reminded her of how he had allowed that mistress to bully Bai Wei. Thinking of that made Gu Xiang feel really annoyed.

Xia Wenxuan said, “It’s just for a meal. It’s not like it is a big deal.”

“You want to look for Jiang Chi to talk about your work affairs, am I right?” Gu Xiang scanned him. She could see right through his intentions with a quick glance.

Xia Wenxuan answered, “I have no way to solve the issue between Bai Wei and I. I know that I am in the wrong! But if I lose my job, I’m doomed! So, please help me! I will pay you back.”

“It’s impossible to get me to arrange dinner with him.” Gu Xiang looked at Xia Wenxuan. “But if you come here to make more trouble for me and I accidentally lose control of myself and say bad things about you in front of him, then… you may face more trouble.”

Xia Wenxuan looked at Gu Xiang. “You…”

Gu Xiang answered calmly. “Are you going to leave yet?”

Xia Wenxuan glared at Gu Xiang and left feeling pissed. He realized that Gu Xiang was really cold-hearted. After knowing her for so many years, she totally disregarded their past relationship.
