Chapter 27: How Are Things Going With You and Jiang Chi

Bai Wei looked at him. “That’s none of your business.”

He had made his way here just to ask her this question. Bai Wei was rather surprised.

But true enough…

Xia Wenxuan badly wanted to form connections with the presidents of the various departments, but they did not like him. Now that Gu Xiang and Jiang Chi knew each other, Bai Wei could probably guess what he was thinking.

Xia Wenxuan said, “Aren’t I just showing concern for her? I am just afraid that she will be cheated by him.”

“Aren’t you ashamed to talk about others like that?” Bai Wei asked disdainfully. “Aren’t you the biggest cheater? No one else could have done what that you have done.”

“How are you sure that others won’t do the same?” Xia Wenxuan asked. “All the men in this world are the same. I know men as I am a man. Do you think that Jiang Chi will not mess around? Isn’t he just after Gu Xiang’s beauty? Maybe he has several other women out there!”

Given Jiang Chi’s abilities, Xia Wenxuan did not believe that he did not have any other women with him!

Just because no one knew, it didn’t mean that he didn’t have any. Perhaps Jiang Chi was better at concealing his more lascivious pursuits.

Gu Xiang followed Jiang Chi back home. She had brought her things over such as clothes, some cosmetics, and her laptop. The moment she returned, Jiang Chi made her go to bed and rest.

She lay in bed and told Jiang Chi. “I got it. I won’t sneak out again.”

Jiang Chi said, “It’s fine if you sneak out but don’t go out there and infect other people.”

Hearing the word ‘infect,’ Gu Xiang couldn’t help but think of the kiss earlier in the morning. When he kissed her, why didn’t he think about whether she would infect him?

But no matter what, Jiang Chi still had time to care for her. For that, she had nothing to say.

She just nodded. “Get on with your work.”

Jiang Chi had used his lunch break to come out to see her. He couldn’t explain why he did so either. He could have had a good rest at noon, but when the helper told him that Gu Xiang had gone out, he had felt a little uneasy.

She had moved out of the Meng family and had nowhere to go. With that personality of hers, if he did not look for her, she would probably never agree to live at his house. So, he took some time out to make the trip.

Now that she had moved her things over, he was reassured. He did not say much and he returned to work at the hospital. Gu Xiang rested for a while and after taking an afternoon nap, she got up and went to the guest room next door to clean up. Otherwise she would have to sleep on the sofa that night.

But during lunchtime, Gu Xiang still snuck out.

Bai Wei called her and asked her to go out to eat hotpot and she could not resist the temptation.

There were many people in the hotpot place. Bai Wei was drinking pineapple beer while asking Gu Xiang, “How are things going between you and Jiang Chi?”

“Pretty good.”

“Xia Wenxuan said that he saw the two of you together today. Are you living with him now?”

Gu Xiang nodded. “Yeah, my family’s choice.”

Bai Wei said, “I’m just a little worried that you would be cheated on! You see, Jiang Chi has been dealt such a good hand, why hasn’t he married yet? If he isn’t a f*ckboy, he must be gay.”

Gu Xiang laughed. “He’s none of those things.”

In fact, whether or not he was a f*ckboy or gay had nothing to do with her.

Bai Wei said, “Then how deep are you guys into the relationship already? Have you slept with him?”

Gu Xiang was drinking a warm beverage and hearing Bai Wei’s words, she choked on it and coughed.

Bai Wei looked at her exaggerated behavior and asked, “Slept, already?”
