Chapter 26: Jiang Chi and Gu Xiang are Now Together

Xia Wenxuan seized his opportunity upon seeing him. He explained quickly, “President Jiang, could you please… excuse what happened earlier? I now understand that I was wrong, I will never repeat my mistake.”

Jiang Chi was the Vice President of their hospital. If he put in a good word for Xia Wenxuan it was possible that the infraction could be overlooked. As long as Jiang Chi spoke up, he could definitely help him.

Jiang Chi looked at Xia Wenxuan and said, “I am not responsible for this matter.”

he was already busy so he would not meddle in such affairs. Although he could make decisions, he did not wish to poke his nose into others’ business.

Xia Wenxuan wanted to speak more but Jiang Chi had already cut him off. “I have something on.”

Then, he walked straight towards Gu Xiang.

Gu Xiang was rather surprised. “Why are you here?”

Jiang Chi explained, “When I went to your store, the assistant said that you went to have a meal here.”

Gu Xiang and the others were having a meal. At the moment there were two people manning the store.

Gu Xiang glanced at Xia Wenxuan. He had said that he wanted to leave yet he kept looking at them. Then, she asked, “Why did you come here to look for me?”

She felt that Jiang Chi was quite an interesting person. Previously, he said that he disliked trouble. Now it didn’t seem like he did!

She was just having her lunch and yet he came to see her unannounced.

Jiang Chi was calm. He stretched out his arm and placed it on her forehead. Gu Xiang was stunned. His hand was rather cool but his palm was faintly warm. It made her feel at ease.

After checking her body temperature, he said helplessly, “I told you to wait for me at home but you just can’t stay put. Why must you insist on going out?”

Gu Xiang’s hand trembled a little. He had clearly touched her forehead but she felt like he had touched her heart.

She answered, “I left something in the car so I came here to pick it up.”

“Why did Xia Wenxuan come to look for you?” His voice was deep and low. “Are you both on very good terms?”

Gu Xiang said, “He is Bai Wei’s boyfriend. He wants to patch up his relationship with Bai Wei so he came to look for me.”

Jiang Chi said, “Let’s go.”

“Where to?” Gu Xiang was confused.

Jiang Chi answered, “Why? Don’t you want to go home yet?”

Hearing that, Gu Xiang followed him and got into the car. Xia Wenxuan watched the interaction between Gu Xiang and Jiang Chi, dumbfounded.

Damn, how did those two people end up together?

Xia Wenxuan had discovered a big secret and he couldn’t wait to share it with others.

Bai Wei was having her lunch at home. Xia Wenxuan’s mother was at home as well. She wished that Bai Wei would forgive Xia Wenxuan and not break up with him. Bai Wei found it annoying. After having her lunch, she went out and saw Xia Wenxuan’s car parked at the entrance.

He got out of his car. “Bai Wei.”

In the morning she had chased him out. Why was he here again?

Bai Wei was speechless. “How brave of you to still show up here. Aren’t you afraid that my father will beat you to death?”

“I’m not here to seek your forgiveness. I have something else.”

“Something else?” Bai Wei couldn’t imagine what reason Xia Wenxuan would still have to come looking for her.

She replied, “Speak up!”

Xia Wenxuan said, “I saw Gu Xiang and Jiang Chi together. What is her relationship with Jiang Chi?”

He was Jiang Chi’s colleague and he knew about Jiang Chi’s family background.

Although Xia Wenxuan was jealous of some colleagues who were treated better than him, he was never jealous of Jiang Chi because he knew they were not on the same level at all.

He had never thought that Jiang Chi, who had never shown any interest in women, would be with Gu Xiang!
