Chapter 10: Met Him At Home

Grandpa Jiang said, “Seriously, his wife is here and he has no sense of urgency at all. Hurry, get him here.”

Grandpa Jiang looked very serious. Gu Xiang sat by the side and watched Grandpa Jiang. She recalled the very obnoxious man that she had met at the hospital the day before. She never thought that he would be controlled like this in his home.

Gu Xiang said thoughtfully, “He must be busy with his things. It’s okay if he cannot come down.”

“How can that be?” Grandpa Jiang widened his eyes and said, “Xiang Xiang, it’s not easy for you to be married into our family. If Jiang Chi bullies you, you have to tell me. I will definitely stand by you and teach him a lesson.”

Seeing how protective Old Master was of her, Gu Xiang felt warm and the discomfort that she first felt when she entered the Jiang House subsided a little. After a while, Old Du came down on his own. Jiang Chi did not come with him.

Old Du explained to Grandpa Jiang. “Ah Chi is still upstairs. He wants Madam to go upstairs to look for him.”

Hearing this, Grandpa Jiang was displeased. “He still puts on airs? Does he want me to go up and invite him down personally?”

Old Du explained, “He said that he wants some ‘alone time’ with Madam and that he needs some privacy!”

Gu Xiang was silent. That rascal! He’s so good at hoodwinking.

Grandpa Jiang was easily coaxed. Hearing that, he smiled immediately. “Fine, fine.”

Although Gu Xiang would have rather stayed downstairs to accompany Grandpa, everyone was watching so she went upstairs casually.

She was already Jiang Chi’s wife, so Old Du just led her straight to the entrance of Jiang Chi’s room. “Third Master is right inside. Madam, please.”

Gu Xiang answered, “Thanks.”

Old Du said, “Then I shall take my leave.”

After he spoke, Old Du smiled in a very suggestive way.

Jiang Chi wore a soft, white shirt that was of very high quality and long black trousers. He had a towel on his shoulders as he had just washed. His hair was still wet.
