Chapter 31: A Cup of Milk Tea as Thanks

Lin Yan walked to Sheng Yuxi’s desk and put the milk tea on it. When Sheng Yuxi saw the milk tea, he looked up at Lin Yan and said, “what’s the matter?”

Lin Yan bent down and turned her neck to Sheng Yuxi, saying, “does it look good?”

Sheng Yuxi took a look and said, “it’s not bad.” Then, he picked up the milk tea on the table and drank it calmly.

Lin Yan looked at the man who was lying and said, “your cufflinks are also not bad.” Sheng Yuxi felt as if he was at a loss for words. He mumbled, “when will you join the shooting crew?”

Lin Yan did not hear what she wanted to hear and was diverted by Sheng Yuxi. Feeling bored, she said, “if nothing goes wrong, I will join the crew the day after tomorrow. What’s wrong? Can’t bear that I’m leaving?”

Lin Yan, who did not expect Sheng Yuxi’s answer, said, “don’t worry. I’ll still text you while I’m with the crew every day. Don’t miss me too much.”

Sheng Yuxi did not refute her. He leaned against the office chair and drank milk tea.

Lin Yan looked at Sheng Yuxi and said, “I didn’t expect that you, the President of a group, would like to eat sweet things. The scariest thing is that you like to drink milk tea.”

Sheng Yuxi raised his eyebrows and said, “there are many flavors in the world. The most common ones are sour, sweet, bitter, and spicy. I’m just a normal person.”

Lin Yan listened to Sheng Yuxi’s words and felt that it was not unreasonable. Life was short. Everyone had the right to pursue what they liked. There was no need to make themselves suffer for meaningless positions.

Lin Yan then said, “those who like to eat sweet things are noncommittal, but what is it like for you to like drinking milk tea? As far as I know, boys generally don’t like to drink milk tea.”

Sheng Yuxi did not refuse Lin Yan’s question and said, “what a coincidence. The first time I drank milk tea in my life was at this moment.”

Lin Yan suddenly remembered that when she bought milk tea in the past, she had also bought milk tea for Sheng Yuxi, so she asked, “I also bought milk tea for you in the past. Then, where did all the milk tea go?”

Sheng Yuxi looked at Lin Yan’s face and then looked at the trash can, and the answer was obvious.

As a milk tea lover, Lin Yan felt very angry at Sheng Yuxi’s waste of milk tea. She said, “if you don’t want to drink it, why don’t you refuse? It’s such a shame to waste it.” Then, she glared at Sheng Yuxi angrily.

Sheng Yuxi answered casually, “I didn’t expect it to taste so good.”

Lin Yan was stunned when she heard Sheng Yuxi’s reply. She said to Sheng Yuxi, “you can’t waste the milk tea that I buy in the future. It’s all very delicious.”

“Oh right, I drank very good milk tea in Melbourne. There are also delicious desserts at the shop. I’m planning to open a shop in the country. It should be open in about a week.”

“I’ll have to trouble Director Sheng to appraise it. You can bring along your friends. I’ve thought it through. If you come, I’ll give you milk tea for free.”

“However, I have a small request. Am I not going to film soon? I might not be able to set up the milk tea shop in time, so I’ll have to trouble Director Sheng to help fix it up.”

Sheng Yuxi looked at Lin Yan, who looked like he should have agreed as a matter of course, and said, “as long as it’s always free, I think I can help you.”

Lin Yan knew that Sheng Yuxi’s company was not related to the renovation at all, but he still agreed to her request. Lin Yan felt that Sheng Yuxi was a good friend indeed.

So, she smiled sincerely at Sheng Yuxi and said, “thank you, Sheng Yuxi. Don’t worry, I will always give you free food and drink. I will also invite you for a tasting of new products. You can also bring your friend with you.”

Sheng Yuxi looked at the smiling Lin Yan and felt that Lin Yan was still cute in nature. She was not entirely arrogant.

After saying that, Lin Yan felt that her trip to thank Sheng Yuxi was quite successful. After saying goodbye to Sheng Yuxi, she walked out of Shengshi Group.

Lin Yan got in the car and called her best friend in Melbourne. She said, “Meng, the shop for milk tea has been found. How is it going on your side?”

Xiang Yimeng replied, “we are almost done with the discussions. Tomorrow, I will sign a contract and he will send the goods to the source. In two days, he will send a master to train the new employees over there. You should look for an employee too.”

Lin Yan thought that she could be an employee. She would enjoy working on what she loved to drink. So she told Xiang Yimeng her thoughts. Xiang Yimeng said, “that’s not very realistic in the early stages. You can do that in the later stages. You can hire employees first.”

Lin Yan felt that what Xiang Yimeng said made sense. The two of them discussed other matters and hung up.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Yan drove back home and found that her mother was at home. So she told her mother about her thoughts. Mother Lin was more liberal with her children, so she agreed to give her daughter the idea of opening a shop.
