394 Warmth (Part 2)

“I want to eat a bowl of cold noodles.” Yue Jiaojiao was in urgent need of a large amount of food to replenish her energy. “Can you also fry two eggs for me?”

“Ah, I’ll go to the kitchen to prepare it for you right now. The sign on the table was placed by Zhao Zhan. He said that the brand he promised yesterday is there.”

Madam Qin rushed to the kitchen.

Yue Jiaojiao had recovered a little by now, so she got up, changed her clothes, and walked to the kitchen.

There was a pile of orders next to the sign.

Zhao Zhan was afraid that she would be bored, so he asked her to look through the list at home to see if there was anything she liked.”Jiaojiao? Is that you?” Li Xiangjun appeared at the door with Luoning in her arms. “I just saw Madam Qin come out of your house and go to the kitchen. I saw your door open and assumed you were awake.”

“I slept in today and the whole courtyard found out.”

Yue Jiaojiao pulled her chair for her, then lowered her head and continued to look at the sheet of paper in her hand, revealing a small dark red mark on her fragile neck.

Li Xiangjun’s face flushed with embarrassment. “You must’ve had a hard time on your way here. Even Doctor Sun is playing with Zhao Nian.””Yesterday I drank in a wine tavern outside and indulged myself in a moment of greediness, so I couldn’t get up.”

The word indulge lingered in her mouth, and there was an indescribable taste she could not get rid off.

Li Xiangjun’s face was full of understanding and she tried to hold back her laughter. “Since Zhao Zhan dotes on you, it doesn’t matter if you let yourself go a little more.”

Yue Jiaojiao was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to stop the conversation if she continued, so she hurriedly handed her a few pieces of items that were on a list. “Did Fang Tianliu tell you yesterday that you can stay at home to pick out the things you want to buy in Shangjing? Do you want to see if there’s anything you like? Zhao Zhan compiled a few things for me to see.””

“Actually, I was planning to go out by myself and have a look at the things.”

Li Xiangjun hastily flipped through the items and placed them back where they were. “I came here to ask you if you wanted to come along too. The sun is not as strong now as before. Do you want to go out with me?”

“Oh…”

“But if your legs are sore, tomorrow is fine too. I understand.”

Yue Jiaojiao blushed and rubbed her stomach. “Actually, I think I can go out with you after I’m done eating. I really don’t have much energy right now to go immediately.”
