Chapter 1251: Chapter 931, It’s Great to Be Open and Aboveboard
The train appeared once more, arriving in the wilderness near Netalee City.
Surrounding it was a dense forest, obscuring the view.
The sky had already dimmed, and in the thick forest, it felt even darker.
Wu Heng stepped off the train, found a tree and relieved himself, then released his Three Ghosts.
Three Souls soared into the air, surveying the surroundings. Xiao Xiao quickly flew back down and pointed in a direction, “Uncle, the city is over there.”
Wu Heng nodded and crossed through the forest, heading in the direction she indicated.
The Three Ghosts followed on both sides. Xiao Xiao spoke, “Uncle, when we get there, can we play with the puppets?”
“If you wear a hood, it’s fine,” Wu Heng replied.
Bella said, “It’s nothing like Gold and Silver Island here; there’s not much fun to be had.”
Glenda chimed in, “We can explore. After such a long period of reconstruction, the commercial street should have recovered by now.”
Xiao Xiao added, “I can buy something for my mom. The bard shops here are better than the ones on Gold and Silver Island.”
“The bards on Gold and Silver Island mostly come from outside; the locals barely know how to read,” Glenda said.
As they chatted while walking, Wu Heng emerged from the dense forest. Before him was a dirt road, and looking ahead along the road, he could see the silhouette of Netalee City.
He pulled out his motorcycle, sat down, and amidst the engine’s hum,
a plume of dust rose.
…
Netalee City, City Lord’s Mansion.
After finishing her training, the Fifth Princess took the towel handed to her by the maid and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She let out a soft sigh, retrieved a stack of documents from her Space Ring, and sat in the courtyard to examine them.
Since Wu Heng became the Leader, all of Netalee City had completely stabilized.
The hidden threats and the surrounding stockpiles of troops vanished overnight, leaving behind only traces where they had been stationed.
Her own status had significantly risen since the main headquarters appointed Wu Heng as the Leader.
Even the newly arrived Elder from headquarters, when passing through, would stop by to pay his respects and offer greetings to the Princess.
She was held in greater esteem now than when her father was alive.
Recently, the island had also grown lively again. Merchants from various regions were arriving to invest, and she was drafting new support policies to retain these investors.
Additionally, there was the matter of Leader Wu Heng establishing a church in the city.
She had to cooperate fully. Her current status was closely tied to him–not to mention, even during her father’s reign, she had never been so closely connected to a hero.
This was her opportunity, one that others could only envy.
Lost in thought, she suddenly noticed a golden array swiftly forming in the courtyard.
Before she could retrieve her weapon from her Space Ring, she already saw the other party’s face, “Lord Island Master…, Leader.”
The Fifth Princess’s eyes sharpened as she uttered a cry of surprise.
She had just been thinking about him, and suddenly he appeared, giving her an almost surreal feeling of having conjured him just by thought.
Wu Heng smiled, “Reading again?”
“Leader, I just finished eating and was reviewing some documents delivered to me here,” the Fifth Princess replied, standing up and offering her salute.
“Hold on a second. I’ll bring Shanaela out as well.” Wu Heng said, and with his Mansion Skill, Shanaela and several skeleton attendants emerged directly.
The Fifth Princess saluted again and greeted, “Sister Shanaela.”
Privately, their relationship was much closer.
When Netalee City was first occupied, Shanaela had taught her how to handle many affairs step by step.
Shanaela yawned and smiled, saying, “Brittany, you look radiant!”
As they spoke, the young maid came rushing out from the room.
Seeing the pair and the skeleton attendants, she respectfully offered greetings.
The Fifth Princess asked, “Leader, Sister Shanaela, have you had dinner yet?”
“Not yet. Have someone prepare something,” Wu Heng said.
The Fifth Princess nodded and turned to the maid, “Prepare a dinner banquet.”
“Yes!” The maid hurried off.
The Fifth Princess continued, “Let’s talk inside.”
The group entered the building together and sat in the living room.
Without needing any prompting, the Fifth Princess began to methodically introduce the city’s development and changes during this period, as if she were an official.
Her timeline was clear, and her speech carried a professional tone.
It was evident she had undergone significant transformation during this period–she had evolved from an inexperienced young girl into a true City Lord.
After hearing what the Fifth Princess shared, Wu Heng nodded, “Very good. Keep up the good work.”
Receiving praise, the Fifth Princess couldn’t help but smile.
Shanaela asked, “What about the church location? How is that going?”
The Fifth Princess responded earnestly, “It’s already decided. It will be in a shop in the Central District. The space is large enough; it used to be a magic craftsman workshop.”
Magic craftsman workshops are high-bar establishments–typically only major Chambers of Commerce can open them.
Netalee City had originally been a major commercial hub along Yeko Kingdom’s maritime routes; its level of prosperity rivaled even that of the Royal Capital.
As such, architectural quality in Netalee City tended to be higher.
Shanaela glanced at Wu Heng and continued, “It’s getting late today; take us to see it tomorrow.”
“Alright. Tomorrow morning, I’ll take you there,” the Fifth Princess agreed.
At this moment, the young maid approached, saluted, and said, “Leader, Lady Shanaira, dinner is ready.”
“Let’s eat first,” Shanaela said familiarly, rising and walking toward the dining room.
Wu Heng looked at the young maid and commented, “You’ve grown taller recently.”
The young maid smiled as well and replied, “Lord Island Master, you’ve become Leader so quickly.”
