Chapter 1250: Chapter 930, Heading to Netalee City_2
Shanaela pouted slightly; she still didn’t seem very interested.
Wu Heng shifted his gaze to the maids in the house, “This is the Skeleton Boxer. From now on, anytime any of you go out, take it with you. On normal days, keep it at home, and Mini will train with it.”
Mini glanced at the Skeleton wearing punching gloves and said, “Master, I already have a Skeleton for training.”
“This one is Level 20. It should work much better,” Wu Heng replied.
Everyone’s eyes widened.
Level 20! That’s equivalent to a hero-level character.
“Alright, thank you, Master.” Mini immediately responded.
A Skeleton at Level 20–it’s like hiring a hero-level assistant trainer for herself.
Shanaela looked hopeful as she asked, “What about the one you arranged for me?”
“Also Level 20. If you don’t want it, I can just let the Wood Elves send over a few high-level attendants for you,” Wu Heng said.
“I want it!” Shanaela insisted.
What a joke–the Wood Elves don’t even have a single Level 20 individual. Moreover, this is an attendant that’s willing to work without complaints.
Wu Heng shot her a dissatisfied glance, “Not big on status now, huh?”
“If it means giving up my status as Elder, then so be it–who cares, anyway?” Shanaela puffed out her chest defiantly.
The nearby maids couldn’t help but laugh along.
Wu Heng chose not to argue further and instead turned to the two Skeletons behind him, saying, “Sandbag Boxing, you will be in charge of protecting the Island Lord’s Mansion. If anyone needs to go out, follow them for protection. No.2 Pot Lid, you’ll be responsible for guarding her safety.”
The two Skeletons walked over and stationed themselves on one side of the living room.
After assigning tasks to the Skeletons, dinner was brought to the table.
Everyone chatted about the newly added Skeletons while eating at the dinner table.
…
The night was hazy. Inside the bedroom.
Shanaela returned from outside, took off the coat draped over her shoulders, and hung it on the door’s clothing rack.
“The Skeleton you gave me–is it really Level 20?” Shanaela burrowed into his arms, her wide eyes seeking confirmation.
“Would I lie to you? But don’t mention it to anyone else–not even people from your tribe. This is for your survival.” Wu Heng hugged her and said.
Shanaela’s face lit up with a smile. “I know. Besides, my reputation is pretty good outside; I don’t have that many enemies.”
“I’ve got a good reputation myself,” Wu Heng retorted with a bit of dissatisfaction, giving her a light smack on the rear.
Shanaela grinned, “You’re polarizing, really–some think you’re great, while others hate you to death.”
“That just proves they’re jealous of me.”
“Yes, yes, you’re amazing,” Shanaela teased her little man and continued, “I’ve chosen the Priests for you–five Wood Elf women, all quite good-looking too, just like Aifulin and the others. They’ll work under you for a year. After that, if they want to leave, we won’t stop them.”
A year is a relatively short period for the Wood Elf species.
Moreover, Wu Heng is now a hero. Working under a hero isn’t an opportunity everyone gets.
Wu Heng nodded, “No problem.”
Holding the man nestled against her, Shanaela added, “I’ve already reached out to the Fifth Princess. She’s settled on a building in the Central District but wants to meet you in person.”
Wu Heng peeked his head out from her embrace and asked, “Meet me? What’s it about?”
“She didn’t mention anything crucial. My guess is that now you’re a hero, and her situation is rather delicate. She’s tried several times to come to Gold and Silver Island, but I didn’t agree–I was worried that her absence might create issues back in Netalee City.” Shanaela explained.
Wu Heng thought for a moment. Arrangements for Lundham City were already made, though winter there had made renovations inconvenient.
But Netalee City, with its weather similar to Gold and Silver Island, could serve as a starting point for constructing a church.
“Let’s head there in the next couple of days. I’ll meet the Fifth Princess, and we can get the church building started,” Wu Heng said.
Shanaela nodded, “Sounds good. I should check on my steward and Elder Guard Team; they’re still stationed there.”
“You should send the Guard back. Their low levels make them more likely to expose their position,” Wu Heng said directly.
Shanaela protested, “They still need to defend the mansion. I *am* an Elder, you know.”
Wu Heng didn’t continue arguing. Instead, he patted her rear and said, “How are you going to thank me?”
“What do you want?”
Wu Heng flipped her over and pinned her beneath him, locking eyes with her. “Call me ‘husband’….”
Shanaela’s cheeks instantly flushed bright red. “You and your games–is this *really* that amusing?”
“Are you gonna call me or not?”
“Fine… Husband! Little husband! Love you the most!” Shanaela cooed, cradling his face and kissing him lightly.
“Call me Daddy!”
“Get lost, you nutcase…!” Shanaela’s brow furrowed sharply.
…
The next morning.
Wu Heng was seated in the living room when Mini walked in with Retili.
“Lord Island Master!” Retili greeted politely.
“Take a seat!” Wu Heng smiled, gesturing for her to sit across from him.
After Mini served tea, Retili continued, “Lord Island Master, I’ve come to deliver the promised Gold Coins.”
With a small wave of her hand, three chests of Gold Coins appeared on the nearby ground.
“These are the profits from the Elixir auction, as well as your agreed-upon share.”
The Snake Badge Consortium had worked efficiently.
The funds had been sorted so quickly.
“Mini,” Wu Heng called to her.
Mini walked over, directed the Skeletons to move the Gold Coins aside, and began counting them with the other maids.
Wu Heng turned back to Retili, “How are the guests from the auction doing now?”
“Most have already left, but some who aren’t in a hurry have stayed on the island. There are those checking out the island’s real estate, thinking about settling down,” Retili replied with a smile.
These lingering guests would generate higher profits for Gold and Silver Island.
Not only would the entertainment facilities earn money, but the island’s residents could benefit financially as well.
This was one of the benefits the Consortium brought to Gold and Silver Island.
Wu Heng nodded, “That’s great. Having more guests remain on the island is definitely a good thing.”
Retili then said, “Lord Island Master, I’ve recently applied to become a permanent resident here on Gold and Silver Island.”
She observed his expression carefully as she spoke.
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, saying, “Really? You’re most welcome. If you can stay here, future collaborations will definitely become more convenient.”
Hearing the support in his tone, Retili breathed a sigh of relief. “If my application is approved, I’ll have to trouble you for your guidance in the future.”
“Of course. We’re friends, after all.”
The two chatted for a while longer. By the time Mini finished counting the Gold Coins and confirmed everything was in order, the maids carried the chests away.
Retili did not linger much longer. After a polite farewell, she left the Island Lord’s Mansion to tend to her own affairs.
…
By midday.
Wu Heng and Shanaela headed to the church together.
In the expansive courtyard of the church stood five stunningly beautiful Wood Elf women, their curious and cautious eyes fixed in their direction.
With synchronized movements, they bowed respectfully, “Lord Island Master, Elder Shanaela.”
Shanaela nodded, “From now on, you will serve as the church’s Priests. Wu Heng and I have already discussed this; fulfill your duties for a year as agreed. Whether you choose to stay or leave afterward will be entirely up to you.”
Wu Heng added, “You’ve earned Shanaela’s trust, and I won’t treat you poorly either. Start by studying the teachings within the Spirit Awakening Holy Scripture. Later on, you’ll be dispatched to various churches to serve as Bishops.”
“Yes, Lord Island Master,” the group replied unanimously.
Shanaela handed out copies of the to each of them. “For now, work alongside Aifulin and the others, spreading the teachings inside the church and getting familiar with the process.”
“Understood!”
“Alright, you can go now!”
The five Wood Elves bowed again and promptly departed.
Shanaela continued, “We’re still recruiting Nuns, but the selection process isn’t as strict anymore.”
“Got it. Just make sure the instructions are clear,” Wu Heng replied. Checking the time, he added, “Let’s head back for now. Then we’ll go to Netalee City later.”
“Are we going today?” Shanaela asked, puzzled.
“We’ve delegated the tasks here already, and Mini will notify us if something comes up,” Wu Heng stated flatly.
“Alright!” Shanaela nodded in understanding.
Wu Heng grabbed her arm, released a , and returned them to the Island Lord’s Mansion.
…
Back at the Island Lord’s Mansion.
After passing instructions to the maids, Wu Heng activated his , allowing Shanaela to enter.
Then, he tore his train ticket and boarded the Phantom Train.
