Chapter 1243: Chapter 927, The Doll Arrives_2
Three glasses of fruit wine were filled, clinked lightly, and a taste of the fruit wine taken.
The sky outside gradually darkened.
Sipping wine and chatting for a while, the sisters’ faces were tinged with a drunken flush.
Xi Ligui stood up, straddled his right leg, chilled palms cupping his cheeks, her eyes full of tenderness and affection, leaning slightly forward, her lips pressed against the corner of his mouth.
Shi Yali placed her glass aside to prevent it from being knocked over, then sat on his other leg and followed with a kiss.
Three overlapping kisses, carrying the fragrance of fruit wine.
Before long, clothes scattered on the ground, the trio’s shadows swayed and overlapped under the moonlight.
Outside the window, wisteria danced in the breeze, its cascading blossoms blooming layer by layer.
…
The next day, morning.
Morning light streamed into the room through the window.
When Wu Heng opened his eyes, he was met with a leg sprawled across his chest, Xi Ligui’s leg across his waist, her pale toes hooked onto Shi Yali’s silver waist chain on the other side.
“You’re awake!” Shi Yali moved her sister’s leg, shifting herself up a bit from his embrace and said, “I just had a feeling you were about to wake up.”
“Why are you awake so early?” Wu Heng turned to look at her.
Shi Yali smiled and said, “It’s not really early; it’s just that we slept pretty late last night.”
Mid-conversation, Xi Ligui also woke up from her slumber, glanced at the phone beside her, and said, “It’s time to head to the association.”
As she spoke, her toes flicked the clothes off the ground, preparing to get dressed.
Wu Heng remained lying on the bed, his hands softly caressing the skin of the sisters before him, and said, “Focus your energy on practice.”
“Got it….” Xi Ligui finished dressing, turned back, and kissed his lips lightly.
Shi Yali followed suit, mimicking the action. The sisters ran into the bathroom to wash up afterward. Shi Yali prepared breakfast, and after the three had finished their meal,
The sisters headed to the association, while Wu Heng used the Instant Transmission Technique to return to the Island Lord’s Mansion.
…
His figure appeared in the Island Lord’s Mansion courtyard.
He immediately saw Robey and Mini squatting next to the flower beds, studying the flowers.
“Master!” Seeing Wu Heng appear, the two women waved to greet him.
“Hmm, good morning!” Wu Heng smiled back.
Mini continued asking, “Master, have you had breakfast yet?”
“I’ve eaten. Did you have fun yesterday?” Wu Heng asked.
Robey jumped up and said, “Yes, it was fun. It wasn’t too crowded yet, so we could enjoy everything.”
“Next time, I’ll have Shanaela prepare an internal pass for you. On your days off, you can go there instead of staying at home, to relax and have fun.” Wu Heng suggested casually.
“Thank you, Master.” Robey’s face lit up with delight.
Knock, knock, knock~!
In the midst of conversation, a knock came at the courtyard’s door.
Mini quickly walked over, glanced through the window above, and then opened the door.
No one came in, but Mini brought back a few items, shut the door again, and returned.
“Master, the association sent a letter and three coffins.” Mini mentioned, casually waving her hand, and three dark red lacquered coffins appeared before her.
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow; the association prohibited transactions involving corpses.
Sending these coffins likely meant the Deceit Puppet Master delivered dolls–last time, Xiao Xiao’s doll was also stored in a coffin.
“Let me take a look.” Wu Heng took the letter, opened it, and glanced at the contents.
Indeed, the Deceit Puppet Master Mortimer had sent dolls.
The rest of the letter mentioned seeing the newspaper article about him, expressing satisfaction with the content and its dissemination efficiency, and inquiring about continued cooperation.
He could continue crafting similar dolls in exchange for more opportunities for publication.
As Wu Heng collected his thoughts, Mini and Robey suspiciously eyed the coffins. He said, “It’s alright; these are dolls crafted by the Deceit Puppet Master. I’ll introduce my remaining ghosts to you later.”
Remaining ghosts?
The two maids raised their brows, sensing there might be other ghosts in the household.
“Understood, Master.” The maids agreed.
Wu Heng stored away the three coffins and headed straight upstairs.
Back to the study.
Inside the room, only Glenda floated midair by herself, flipping through Wu Heng’s translated iron plate of the Water Drawing Technique.
She differed from Xiao Xiao and Bella.
She could appreciate the depth of stories told through books, rather than preferring movies or animation.
Seeing him enter, Glenda remarked, “You’re back early.”
“Where are the other two?” Wu Heng sat forward onto a chair.
“Not sure. Xiao Xiao didn’t return last night; Bella probably went out shopping,” Glenda replied. “Are you heading out?”
“No, the Deceit Puppet Master sent dolls over. I figured you’d all want to take a look.” Wu Heng shifted his gaze toward her and said casually.
Glenda paused her page-turning. “They actually arrived?”
“Yes.” Wu Heng brought out the three coffins and said, “See which one’s yours. As for the other two, we’ll let them open theirs when they’re back.”
It was clear that the smallest coffin belonged to Xiao Xiao.
Glenda phased through the lid and glanced at two similar-sized coffins before pointing to one of them. “That one!”
“Shall I open it for you, or do you want to open it yourself?” Wu Heng asked.
Glenda raised her hands flatly. “How could I possibly open it?”
Wu Heng walked over and opened the wooden coffin directly. Inside, a layer of padding made from velvet was used for collision protection. Beneath the velvet was a lady doll dressed in a blue bed gown, her hair elegantly coiled back.
The exposed face, neck, and arms were crafted from ivory-like material.
Snow-white and tender, visually pleasing.
Wu Heng glanced at Glenda, then at the doll on the floor. “Your husband truly deserved death.”
Glenda rolled her eyes at him, saying, “He’s already dead; why bring it up now? Can I possess it?”
