Chapter 1967: Reminiscing About Old Times

The resentment, inferiority, and madness that had once festered within him seemed to vanish without a trace.

Qian Dazhuang and the others looked at Jin Zeyu with a mix of envy and resentment. Becoming Xi Yue’s Shadow Protector–what an honor that was!

Unfortunately, the Shadow Protector contract could only be signed by cultivators. Among them, only Jin Zeyu had a chance–he was on the verge of breaking through to the Soul Splitting Stage, with a slim possibility of reaching the Void Darkness Stage. As for the others, such a goal was nothing more than a distant dream.

But their envy was fleeting, quickly replaced by a sense of resolve. Even if they couldn’t become Shadow Protectors, it didn’t matter. As long as they could stay by Xi Yue’s side and continue protecting her, that was enough.

Xi Yue called Qian Dazhuang and the others over, checking their pulses and treating their injuries. Fortunately, their wounds were minor–after a few sessions of realignment, they would make a full recovery.

Xi Yue asked, “Where are Little Yi and the others?”

“Little Yi is in the Spiritual Beast Department, and Fang Yuan and the others are in the Herb Department. They’ll be here soon,” Chen Xiaofeng said, his curiosity getting the better of him.

“We were planning to head to Skyrise City to look for you, but we didn’t expect you to already be at Heavenly Medical Valley. Xi Yue, how did you manage to pass through the valley’s barrier? Are you a student here now?”

Xi Yue smiled and glanced at the students around her. “How about we talk somewhere else?”

…

Drunk Immortal House was the finest restaurant in Heavenly Medical Valley, always bustling with customers. Getting a private room required booking in advance.

Several people chose a seat by the window in the lobby on the second floor and sat down.

Xi Yue briefly recounted her experiences at Cang Mountain’s peak. However, just as she had agreed with Xuan Mu, she omitted the part about traveling to the Vast Wilderness Continent. Instead, she simply said that Weizhi had saved her. By the time she woke up, ten years had already passed.

Jin Zeyu and the others had initially harbored some resentment toward Xi Weizhi, but upon hearing that he had saved Xi Yue–losing his memories in the process–their hostility instantly turned into gratitude.

Qian Dazhuang raised his cup, his voice booming as he said, “Brother, we might have started off on the wrong foot, but since you saved Xi Yue, I owe you a toast!”

Weizhi didn’t seem to hear him at all and just drank by himself.

After toasting with Xi Yue, he slowly lifted his cup and took a sip.

By now, Qian Dazhuang and the others had come to understand his temperament and didn’t take it to heart. Besides, they had experienced Xi Weizhi’s strength firsthand. Jin Zeyu, in particular, couldn’t shake the feeling that he was more terrifying than anyone he had ever encountered. With power like that, a bit of arrogance was only natural.

When the food and drinks were served, Xi Yue asked, “How did you come to Siam?”

“That’s all thanks to Wei Chengyuan’s help,” Chen Xiaofeng explained, “Heavenly Medical Valley goes to the Miracle Healer Academy every year to select students with outstanding medical talent. Most of us aren’t focused on medicine, so we wouldn’t have qualified on our own.”

“But Wei Chengyuan knew we wanted to grow stronger, so he used his connections with the Divine Moon Palace to get a few of us on the list.”

Xi Yue was stunned for a while. “Did Wei Chengyuan also come to the Siam Continent?”

Jin Zeyu nodded and said, “Wei Chengyuan and Dean Zeng are here, but they had some matters to attend to at the Divine Moon Palace and haven’t returned yet. I’ve already sent a message to them–once they hear that you’re alive, they’ll rush back without hesitation!”

Xi Yue closed her eyes gently, as if the laughter, warmth, and happiness of the past were still right before her.
