Chapter 32: Nangong Yan Almost Popped a Vein

The royals were indeed going too far when the emperor decided to dethrone the crown princess that had been selected by the empress dowager.

“A laughing stock? Isn’t that what you’ve always been for the Canglan Continent? You are just humiliating yourself by not realizing your shortcomings, Feng Ruchu. Who is to blame for you becoming a good-for-nothing?” Feng Mo’er sneered.

“Looks like you’re suffering from memory loss, Feng Mo’er, would you like me to remind you who was held hostage by this good-for-nothing earlier? Shall I publicize it so that everyone in the Canglan Continent will know about it?” Feng Ruchu narrowed her eyes at Feng Mo’er and asked cynically.

“You filthy slu-”

Before Feng Mo’er could finish, Nangong Yan who was standing beside her stopped her from being rude in front of the emperor.

Left with no choice, Feng Mo’er swallowed her curses, her eyes glittering with hatred.

‘Your time will come, you little slut. He who laughs last, laughs best.’

Nangong Yan walked to Feng Ruchu after calming Feng Mo’er down. He was tall and buff, and Feng Ruchu who was small and scrawny only came to his chest.

As a member of the royal family, Nangong Yan had a strong aura which showed when he stood in front of Feng Ruchu and looked down at her scornfully. “What do you want, Feng Ruchu?”

Feng Ruchu smiled calculatively. “I want to be the queen.”

“Don’t even think about it!” Nangong Yan exploded angrily. “I am warning you now—I will never touch you because every inch of you disgusts me!”

“Really?” Feng Ruchu asked cheekily. “Then I thank Your Highness for not touching me, because your entire being and even the air you breathe grosses me out so much that I feel like I’m facing a maggot!”

“You asked for it!” Not having suffered such humiliation before, Nangong Yan became furious and summoned his Brilliant Sword, about to perform a killer move.

“Are you trying to kill me, Your Highness? By all means, go ahead! If the royals are only capable of using violence to get their way, I wonder what the people would say if they found out about it…” Feng Ruchu wondered complacently without moving.

While Feng Ruchu’s carefree attitude made her sound wicked, Nangong Yan realized that he shouldn’t kill Feng Ruchu so openly and froze.

“You are a pain in the arse!” Nangong Yan cursed as he put his Brilliant Sword away.

“I am a pain, and you are an arse,” Feng Ruchu countered smilingly.

“You!” Nangong Yan almost popped a vein at her attitude.

“You conspired with Feng Mo’er to ruin my name so that you would have a reason to dethrone me, so that when you marry Feng Fei’er it would be open and legitimate. Is that what you were up to, Nangong Yan?” Feng Ruchu tiptoed to whisper in Nangong Yan’s ear tauntingly.

“To be honest, I don’t really care if I am the crown princess or not, but the more you want to get rid of me, the more I will hold on to the title. I enjoy seeing how I get on your nerves, and how there is nothing you can do about it. How do you feel about that? Do you like it? Are you surprised?”
