Chapter 49: Beating Heart

Feng Sujin explained, “I’ve cooked for ten years! My cooking should be good.”

Lan Beichen loved her cooking before, but Feng Su wanted to slap herself for thinking about Lan Beichen again. Feng Sujin bit her lips, secretly hating herself for never getting over her past.

Dim light flashed across Jun Mohan’s eyes and stretched his hand out, lighting touching Feng Sujin’s lips, “Don’t bite yourself, there’s no need to make things difficult for yourself.”

The man had his back against the window and Lan Beichen couldn’t see his face, but the moment he recognized her, he felt a lump in his heart. He took another glance and smiled as he left.

But now, he realized that he felt uncomfortable and that he should’ve done something. After he organized his thoughts, he called Feng Sujin. After he called, he waited for a long time, but no one picked up. Lan Beichen’s handsome face slowly froze as his lips pursed together tightly. It was the first time he called Feng Sujin and had no one picked up. Before, she would always pick up as quickly as possible no matter when it was.

Of course, he’s only called Feng Sujin a few times.

Lan Beichen only needed to turn around to find Feng Sujin, but this time he realized that he pushed Feng Sujin away from him. Confusion filled Lan Beichen’s eyes as he leaned back on the chair, tired.

He pondered for a while and then threw his phone aside, continuing with his work. He didn’t know how long it had been but he suddenly recalled the news from before, frowning and sighing. After all, he didn’t want Feng Sujin to stray from the correct path. He picked up the phone and called the same number again.

After Feng Sujin finished eating and rested in her room, she received another call from Lan Beichen after she finished showering. She looked at Lan Beichen’s name and her heart ached.

They’ve spent so long together that they had become used to each other’s existence. However, Lan Beichen could turn around like this so mercilessly, but she had been through so many life or death situations in a short period of time, so she didn’t force herself to become stronger.
