Upon seeing Ruri’s current state, Ryuto didn’t really know what to do.

He couldn’t help but think back to the original game’s plot.

In the original game, each heroine has two endings – the good ending, and the bad ending.

In the good ending for Ruri, the protagonist and Ruri joined forces with everybody to take down Tianmu Yongji, but failed to get together romantically.

This was because Ruri still had to uphold her family duties.

In other words, even though they were able to overcome the evils of this country, they can’t deal with family traditions.

“Once I am free of this cage, if you still remember me, meet me at the same place.”

This was what Ruri told the protagonist before disappearing into the distance.

Her back was no different from a prisoner stuck in jail.

The game would then come to an abrupt end with no closure for either party.

Would they meet again after 20 years? Most would think so…

…but Ryuto couldn’t accept this ending.

Having to wait over 20 years before they can get together, is this really a happy ending after wasting your life away?

In comparison, the bad ending is surprisingly happier.

The protagonist would fall surrender to Tianmu Yongji, overtaking the royal family and forcing Ruri into his harem.

Although this ending was evil since it involves a considerable number of human deaths, it was unexpectedly popular by players of the game.

It was no surprise, though – after they read up the lore of the game, many players have come to hate the in-game world.

However, this was no longer a game. Ryuto is now living and breathing in a world based on the game.

This is real – they aren’t just made of pixels and code, they are all living, breathing human beings.

When he saw Ruri’s complicated feelings, Ryuto’s thoughts on the ending of the game became more complicated.

Objectively, she had no choice, since she had to attend to her family duties.

However, human emotions are incredibly subjective.

“Alright,” Ryuto said, walking towards Ruri. “I’ve made my choice.”

“Are you going to give up on me? You should – you deserve a normal life.”

Upon hearing Ryuto approach her, she breathed a sigh of relief. This was the best choice for the both of them.

However, Ryuto shook his head, “I have decided that I will definitely pursue you, no matter what troubles I encounter.”

‘Are you crazy?! Did nothing I say get into your head?!’

Ruri was incredibly confused.

His stupidity and foolishness was incurable.

“Do you know how much trouble you’ll get into it? It’s not worth it!”

“I don’t care,” Ryuto crossed his arms. “If anybody gets in my way, I’ll feed them to the fish.”

“You- you’re crazy.”

“That’s right – did you already forget who I am?”

As he spoke, Ryuto picked up a fine, sharp stone from the ground, walking towards Numin’s statue.

“I am the young master of the Ryuto group, the designated violent group in Tokyo!”

There are two types of groups in Tokyo, which can be divided into violent and non-violent groups.

Violent gangs like Ryuto’s practically live in prisons.

Non-violent groups tend to operate in a semi-legal manner via nightclubs, black markets, etc.

With Ryuto’s group being the designated violent group, it was no surprise that they are under strict supervision.

Even if Ryuto wanted to leave the organization, he will still be kept under a close watch.

It’s difficult for him to have a normal life.

‘If that’s the case, I might as well go all in!’

Scratch, scratch!

Under Ruri’s stunned gaze, Ryuto swiped hard on the statue, and a long, serrated scar was cut into the statue.

This statue was passed down for more than a thousand years, its value was simply immeasurable.

With another slice, Ryuto drew a huge ‘X’ on the statue.

If anybody from the family witnesses this, Ryuto might be placed into a cage, never to be let out.

Wuyi shivered in the darkness.

‘W-What are you doing? Are you insane?’

Under Tumaru’s orders, Wuyi followed closely behind the two of them, never in a million years did she expect to witness such a shocking scene.

She couldn’t hear what the both of them were saying, but it was scary looking at both of them converse so seriously.

“Miss, let’s make a bet.”

“If you don’t become the maiden tending to the rituals within two years, how about becoming my wife?”

In front of the sacred statue of the Koujirou family, Ryuto extended his hand towards Ruri, making a bold promise that he intended to keep.
