Boyfriend, Husband, Daddy (1)
The moonlight outside and the glow of the snow illuminated the silence inside and outside the villas in the near distance and the whiteness of the mountain peaks in the far distance.
Qin Yuan looked at the activities listed on the table and raised his head. “Let’s go skiing tomorrow. There is a skiing spot here. Although there isn’t much snow, there’s an artificial snow track.”
Ruan Qingmu became interested. “I don’t know how to ski. Is it easy to learn?”
Qin Yuan smiled gently. “I will teach you. Based on your sports talent, there will be no problem.”
Ruan Qingmu was in high spirits. “Talking about sports talent, that big fool guy is in the top rank. It’ll be good if he and Fang Li are here.”
Having a bit of concern in his heart, he picked up his phone and flipped through his Moments.
Sure enough, Fang Li’s Moments were much more than before. Before the holidays, he had already finished his exams at the various art schools he was aiming for and it would usually be a month or two before his exam results came back.
In the past, Fang Li’s Moments hardly had any content. Even if there was, it was all forwarded very carefully, without any record of his mood or behavior. But now, just by scrolling down, there was definitely more content posted of himself.
Some were simple dance moves, some were casual photos of eating at the night market, and others were selfies with fresh brows and shy smiles, not in female clothes.
Ruan Qingmu usually did not have the habit of liking or commenting on people’s photos. As he scrolled through them, he let out a “tch.” “The big silly guy doesn’t avoid suspicion. There’s only him alone.”
Under each of Fang Li’s posts, Fu Songhua was the only one who liked them and diligently left comments.
“Wah, it’s nice to see and eat!~~~.”
“Little Fang Li is also full of vigor today!”
Qin Yuan’s phone was being played by Xiao-Zhuang, so he leaned over and looked at it. “It’s not necessarily like that.”
Ruan Qingmu didn’t understand. “What?”
Qin Yuan thought about it. “Why don’t you ask Bai Xiaosheng to send a screenshot of Fang Li’s Moments and look at it?”
Ruan Qingmu didn’t understand, but he saw Bai Jing was speaking enthusiastically in the group, so he sent a message according to Qin Yuan’s instructions. Bai Jing replied in seconds, giving him a screenshot of Fang Li’s most recent Moments.
“What does Ruan-ge want to do?”
Ruan Qingmu: “…”
The hell with it. The screenshots that Bai Jing sent over were completely different from his. Fang Li’s Moments were full of lively likes and comments while Fu Songhua’s looked completely inconspicuous, drowning in a sea of people.
After thinking about it, he understood. He didn’t like to add people to his WeChat, so if he had something to say, he looked for it in the class QQ group. Since he wasn’t friends with them on WeChat, he naturally couldn’t see the messages and likes left by other students.
He looked at the enthusiastic, back-and-forth replies. Fang Li also replied to everyone from time to time in the comments. His words were still careful and soft, but he no longer had the same cowering and humble look as before.
Qin Yuan smiled. “He’s different from the past. Don’t worry.”
Ruan Qingmu gently sighed in relief and smiled faintly too. “Mm, that’s good.”
Qin Yuan looked longingly at the distant mountains. “Fu Songhua will certainly get into the capital with me. We can frequently have a meal with him in the future. During our winter break, we can meet up with Fang Li.”
Although they didn’t say so explicitly, they all vaguely understood that there was no way for Fang Li to go to one of the top art schools in the capital, adding to the fact that he didn’t have any strict professional training other competing students had received. The fact of the matter was that he always seemed to have a heavy burden weighing on his thin shoulders.
The condition of Fang Li’s mother fluctuated. If he took the exam in a local or nearby city, he could come back on weekends to look after her, but if he went far away, he might not be able to come back in time if something were to happen.
Therefore, Fu Songhua was so sad and helpless.
Because the invisible parting was right in front of his eyes and unavoidable, watching indifferently.
Ruan Qingmu was quietly dazed for a while before smiling. “It’s not a big deal. They can break up if they can’t withstand the trial of being in different cities.”
Qin Yuan looked at him quietly. “Right. So long as they don’t leave behind any regret and wound each other.”
A lifetime was so far away and so long that no one could guarantee the person they met in their teenage years would be the one they would spend their lives with.
All their friends, who were good and wonderful teenagers, would surely meet the truly right one, whether now or in the future.
Ruan Qingmu picked up the tea before him and drained it in one gulp. “Let’s go to bed now. We’ll go skiing tomorrow morning!”
Qin Yuan stopped him. “Wait a moment. I need to go to the bathroom.”
He turned and went out while Ruan Qingmu propped his cheeks in boredom and gazed out at the green hills in the distance.
The night was getting a little darker. Although the snow was shining, the surrounding scenery was still slightly blurred.
As Ruan Qingmu looked on, he became slightly dazed.
The mountains in front of him looked somehow familiar as if he had seen them somewhere before.
As he remembered, it was similar to the cliff they had fallen together in their previous life. They had fought for days and nights and when they were chasing each other and escaping, they had stumbled into a deep mountain. When the night was dark and windy, they had both rolled down the mountain and landed in that cave before they saw it.
As he thought about the old days, he couldn’t help but laugh: All the mountains in this world looked alike, so it was senseless to think of the past like this.
Xiao-Zhuang sat on his lap, playing a muted game, and unintentionally left the game. He didn’t know which one Qin Yuan had opened for him and searched around the phone for it.
Ruan Qingmu casually stroked his head and murmured, “Say, is he considered the same person as in the past?”
The little mute couldn’t hear him and lowered his head, burying his head anxiously as he looked around for the mobile game. Tapping around, he inadvertently clicked on a few apps. He hadn’t played with the phone much and was at a loss, scrambling to exit again.
Suddenly, he saw a symbol with a small microphone pattern, which seemed similar to the cube-building game just now, so he hastily clicked on it.
Ruan Qingmu helped him fix his soft hair. “Xiao-Zhuang, you also think he looks similar, don’t you? Look at you like you’ve seen a ghost the first time you met him.”
He didn’t actually expect to get a response from the little mute. Looking at the mountains in the distance where he had déjà vu, he said dejectedly, “Toward that person in the past, I don’t know what I thought I had for him. But thinking back now, maybe at that time… I should have already liked him a lot?”
It was why he couldn’t resist saving him and couldn’t resist feeling bored when he didn’t come after him again for months. Then, he felt bored enough to run near him to reveal his whereabouts, lure him into showing and drawing his sword before asking with a smile, “Qin-shaoxia, long time no see. Have you been well? I’m looking forward to your promised relentless chasing.”
A thin red wavy line began to sway on the phone’s interface in front of Xiao-Zhuang as the analog sonic line wavered high and low.
