Why should she take revenge on him for no reason? Why did she not put salt in his food?

He was hungry and hence he had her instead.

Gu Shinian curled up in his arms, drained of all energy, her eyes half-closed and her breathing shallow.

Qin Muchen stared at her. She still looked very pale.

He questioned her feeling displeased. “Is it very repulsive to be intimate with me?”

Qin Muchen stroked her pale cheeks. “Why do you seem to be in agony whenever we are together?”
