Day 43: Hunters!!

The weather is nice. Rays of sunlight rain down through the cracks between the leaves of overhanging trees.This will be the day that we get out of the forest!

Ms. Noa was back to her cheerful self when she woke up in the morning.I apologized for pushing her too far yesterday, but she said that I shouldn’t be concerned about such things. And then she thanked me for staying up and watching the camp last night.And so the two of us were on friendly terms again as we made our way through the forest.

That being said, we were going blindly, and were still lost…And then I had an idea. I got a hint from the King Namekus.

As we started to search for the river, Ms. Noa told me that she could hear the sounds of running water nearby… But I can’t hear anything?And then she pointed at her ears, which were a little pointy… I see. Even if she was only a quarter, an elf was an elf.And so I followed Ms. Noa’s lead, and then we really did find a river!!Ah!! And there is a lot of Momija grass!! Ms. Noa! Gather! We must gather it!!

We finished gathering after about two hours, and then we headed downstream.All of the Momija grass we gathered was put into my rabbit rucksack.If I gave it to Ms. Noa, that would mean throwing it into the same dimension as those other things. I didn’t like the sound of that.

And then we finally got out of the forest!!When I scanned the area to see where we were, I saw what looked like a small wall in the distance.Huh? Is that the outer wall of the town!?But I could not see any more than that, and so I asked Ms. Noa, and it was indeed the outer wall.Not only that, but the crest on the gate was the horned beast that represented the town of Ruffa!We arrived! We had arrived!!So it really was a shortcut after all! Because we arrived a day early!!

After that, we managed to enter the town before sundown.Phew. I think that tonight, I’ll get to enjoy a great meal and bath, and then relax in a real bed.

Once we had talked a little, I sold various materials.First, there was the Momija grass. Apparently, they hadn’t been able to get any recently, and so they were very grateful. And lastly, there was the King Namekus, which Ms. Noa took out with shaking hands and tightly shut eyes. The whole guild was stunned when they saw this.Apparently, the reason that there was so little Momija grass these days was because of the rapidly growing number of King Namekus.However, due to their appearance and the fact they only came out in the rain, hardly anyone wanted to hunt them… Was it really so bad, hunting these guys?

Just then, I heard someone mutter, ‘The Nameku Hunter has done it again!’Hey, there are two of us, so shouldn’t it be Nameku Hunters? And… Hey!?
