Chapter 789: Chapter 792: Mizong Sect Chapter 789: Chapter 792: Mizong Sect “Sigh…” Xiao Han was at a loss for words and said, “I should have bought the ticket myself.”
The ticket had already been bought, and he had already boarded the plane. There was nothing to be done but to make the best of it.
It took an hour and a half to fly from Z Province to Mount Huang.
Upon leaving the airport, someone quickly arrived to pick them up. This area was the territory of the Mizong Sect. There were quite a few external disciples of the Mizong Sect here, whose role was to supply the Mizong Sect with materials.
The person who came to pick them up was a man around thirty years old, with a buzz cut, looking very spirited.
“Master!” The man hurriedly approached.
“Hmm!” Zhou Jianquan nodded slightly and said, “Where’s the car?”
“It’s in the parking lot outside,” the man hurriedly replied.
“Good, lead us there!” Zhou Jianquan commanded.
After that, the man led the way. Upon entering the parking lot, they finally saw the car that had come to pick them up–a black Volkswagen Passat. Moreover, it was an old model, equipped with an antenna on the roof.
“This can’t be the best car your Mizong Sect has, can it?” Xiao Han asked curiously.
“Yes!” Zhou Jianquan nodded and said, “We have no choice, our Mizong Sect’s economic situation isn’t good, unlike the Golden Lion Sect. This time, we have come to settle accounts with the Golden Lion Sect!”
“Just because they took your business?” Xiao Han asked with a laugh.
“No!” Zhou Jianquan shook his head and said, “Didn’t I tell you? The Golden Lion Sect has killed several of my disciples. I am here to avenge my disciples.”
“Oh!” Xiao Han suddenly realized; it seemed he had been told yesterday but had simply forgotten. He chuckled and said, “They kill your disciples, and you don’t dare to speak up, that must be frustrating. I will help you vent this anger!”
“Thank you, grandmaster!” Zhou Jianquan expressed his immense gratitude.
Given the fact that Zhou Jianquan had waited for him for an hour at the school gate today without calling him, Xiao Han felt compelled to help him no matter what.
They got in the car, and the young man drove away from the airport. They sped along the airport highway.
The car was fast; despite being an old model Passat with only a 1.8T engine, it accelerated quite quickly, stable even at a speed of 140.
Xiao Han sat in the car, gazing out the window at the scenery. From afar, he could see a continuous stretch of mountains, unsure if it was part of Mount Huang.
Twenty minutes later, the car exited the highway and entered the urban area of Mount Huang City.
An hour later, the car passed through the city and then headed straight along a suburban road.
Before long, the car stopped in a suburban area.
“Are we here?” Xiao Han asked.
“Yes!” Zhou Jianquan nodded and then said, “This is it!”
Xiao Han looked up to see a place at the foot of a mountain, with green-tiled houses below azure brick structures. At first glance, it looked like a residential area.
“This is it?” Xiao Han felt as puzzled as a monk in confusion.
In Xiao Han’s eyes, a so-called Sect should have magnificent halls, a huge cauldron standing at the entrance, colorful flags fluttering, and rows of disciples standing at the door. However, the place before him looked more like a slum. How could this resemble a grand sect?
“Brother, you’re not playing with me, are you?” Xiao Han asked with a wry smile.
“Sigh, I’ve told you, we’re not well-off,” Zhou Jianquan replied with a bitter smile. “Not like the Golden Lion Sect. They have connections with the people managing Mount Huang tourism spots, and their external disciples are from the management office. Each year, the office allocates funds to them, and their sect is directly built at the foot of Mount Huang. Moreover, they have many interactive projects with tourists, so they make a lot of money!”
“Okay.” Xiao Han nodded and said, “You really have it tough!”
“Quite tough indeed,” Zhou Jianquan sighed deeply and said, “Our Mizong Sect has managed to survive until now, all thanks to the charm of our Mizong Fist.”
“That’s true,” Xiao Han chuckled.
The Mizong Fist indeed had its unique charm, especially when performed. The techniques were truly elegant, and they were quite powerful too.
Zhou Jianquan quickly led Xiao Han through a path and then towards the Mizong Sect.
Entering the Mizong Sect, there were rows of houses with Mizong Sect disciples moving about. The disciples wore simple clothes. Some were meditating, some were practicing boxing, and others were chatting. Altogether, it was a lively scene.
Soon, Zhou Jianquan led Xiao Han into a five-story building.
“Xiao Han, you’ll stay here temporarily!” Zhou Jianquan entered a room.
The room was nice, somewhat like a hotel, quite spacious, with air conditioning. Although it was simple, Xiao Han didn’t mind: “Okay!”
“I’m sorry for the inconvenience!” Zhou Jianquan said with a wry smile: “Our resources are limited.”
“No problem!” Xiao Han shook his head.
“Then you can settle here for a while, I’ll go find the manager,” Zhou Jianquan said.
“Sure!” Xiao Han nodded.
When Zhou Jianquan left, Xiao Han was alone in the room. Looking around the ordinary room, except for an air conditioner, there wasn’t much of value. Xiao Han wasn’t picky, but he noticed something–this place, located at the foot of Mount Huang, had denser Spiritual Energy than other areas. He had felt the abundant Spiritual Energy as soon as he got out of the car. Thus, once Zhou Jianquan had left, Xiao Han immediately started meditating right there, driving the Qi within his body outward slowly, then the exterior Spiritual Energy gradually moved toward his body. Before long, the Qi within him began to fill up. This cycle continued relentlessly.
He didn’t know how long he had been cultivating, and no one had disturbed him in the meantime. Since no one was interrupting him, he simply continued cultivating slowly, noticing a subtle change happening inside his body.
Before, the Qi inside his body seemed scattered, thread by thread, strand by strand. Now, these threads and strands gathered together like cotton, forming a cluster. It gradually expanded, nestling like a ball of cotton candy at the Dantian in Xiao Han. This cluster of Qi became one of the most significant changes for Xiao Han.
Having noticed the change in his body, Xiao Han couldn’t help but smile triumphantly. If the Ghost King knew about these changes, he wondered what sort of comments he would make.
Knock, Knock, Knock…
Just as Xiao Han was basking in self-satisfaction, the sound of knocking came.
“Come in!” Xiao Han called out.
Zhou Jianquan hurriedly pushed the door open and with a smile, said, “Grandmaster, lunch is ready. Please come and eat!”
“Ah, I’ve already told you to just call me Xiao Han!” Xiao Han said with a face full of distress.
“Yes, yes, Xiao Han, it’s time to eat,” Zhou Jianquan chuckled.
The reason he kept calling Xiao Han ‘Grandmaster’ was because the aura around Xiao Han was exactly the same as the one he remembered from his grandmaster who had not yet ascended to immortality when he was a child. Moreover, Xiao Han had previously mentioned that he had met his grandmaster once, so Zhou Jianquan firmly believed it. However, since Xiao Han preferred not to make a fuss, he had to restrain himself a bit.
Xiao Han walked slowly outside, following Zhou Jianquan to a building ahead.
In that building, Xiao Han saw a huge dining hall.
Inside, several hundred disciples gathered, each appearing very devoted. There were dozens of round tables filled with dishes.
“This is…” Xiao Han asked curiously.
“This is the dining hall of the Mizong Sect,” Zhou Jianquan laughed and said, “Even cultivators need to eat. As the saying goes, ‘food is paramount for the people,’ and we are still humans, not immortals yet.”
“Haha…” Xiao Han laughed heartily.
The two headed towards the foremost table, which had a feast that was leagues apart from the other tables. There was a whole roasted lamb and many other dishes on this table, whereas the other tables featured much simpler homemade dishes.
Unbeknownst to many, Zhou Jianquan usually ate and drank with the disciples, but today, to accommodate Xiao Han, he had specially asked the chefs to prepare some extravagant dishes, making sure to treat their honored guest well regardless of cost, leading to the lavish spread on the main table.
“Grandmaster, Grandmaster!” all the disciples called out in unison.
Xiao Han couldn’t help but blush, surprised that a mere jest had created such a spectacle. This made him feel somewhat uncomfortable. He awkwardly said, “Sect Leader Zhou, let’s… let’s eat!”
“Very well!” Zhou Jianquan nodded and said, “Let’s all take our seats!”
Whoosh…
Over three hundred people, like a group of well-trained soldiers, took their seats quickly. After sitting down, everyone sat up straight, none moving their chopsticks.
Xiao Han and Zhou Jianquan also took their seats at this table.
Everyone at the main table was part of the Mizong Sect’s administration.
This table had more than ten people, each looking at Xiao Han with a very diligent smile, as though fearing they hadn’t attended to Xiao Han adequately. Moreover, none dared speak with Xiao Han, especially since they heard from the Sect Leader that Xiao Han was a mysterious old creature who had lived for over a hundred years, which left them all in awe.
“Xiao Han, go ahead, eat,” Zhou Jianquan urged.
Xiao Han picked up his chopsticks and was just about to start serving himself when he noticed that the hundreds of people at the banquet, including those at the main table, hadn’t touched their chopsticks, leaving him the only one about to eat.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Xiao Han asked in confusion.
“You are the guest, you should move your chopsticks first!” Zhou Jianquan hastily explained, “It’s a sign of respect for esteemed guests.”
“Oh…” Upon hearing this, Xiao Han suddenly understood and immediately picked up a piece of lamb.
Whoosh…
Everyone began moving their chopsticks, and the previously silent and still scene immediately became lively.
Xiao Han finally breathed a sigh of relief, having felt almost overwhelmed when it had been utterly silent. He felt as if all the attention had been focused on him, making him feel as if he were Alexander.
Now that everyone else was also eating, he no longer bothered.
