Chapter 28: Leverage

For an insignificant character like him, Ruan Wenxiong was basically a pawn who was destined to be at the mercy of others.

“President Ruan, you’ve worked hard.” It was a given that Ye Yang wouldn’t ignore Ruan Wenxiong’s pleas after hearing him out. He said gently, “President Ruan, why don’t you investigate Yang Jian’s bank account transactions and his private life? There might be something useful.”

Ye Yang wasn’t going to watch as Ruan Wenxiong went down. He was by no means reluctant when it came to assisting the man. Ye Yang quickly came up with two solutions for Ruan Wenxiong.

Ruan Wenxiong was surprised by how direct Ye Yang was with his words and was immediately thrilled. “I’ll do that right now!”

“President Ruan, don’t be too worried.”

After Ye Yang realized Ruan Wenxiong’s troubles, his tone was no longer harsh and forceful like it was before.

Both of them continued to hold a superficial exchange before hanging up.

When Ye Yang returned to the office, he smiled at Huang Ruobing who now looked like she was the god of war. He placed the IOU note in front of her.

Huang Ruobing was never the nervous type, otherwise, she would not have achieved what she had today. Seeing how Huang Ruobing was working like a battle goddess, how could Ye Yang just let her be?

There was a scale in Ye Yang’s mind. While he knew that Huang Ruobing was capable of solving these problems on her own since he clearly could be of help, there was no reason why he shouldn’t relieve some of her burdens.

Huang Ruobing was surprised to see the note, clearly not expecting Ye Yang to possess such a thing.

“How did you get this?”

“You don’t need to care how I got it. Take this and get Ye Wenxuan to pay up. He would never reject you.” Ye Yang didn’t explain much. It didn’t take him long to find Huang Ruobing’s keys and he got ready to leave.

“Where are you going?” Huang Ruobing didn’t find this behavior distasteful. Instead, she was still worried after that car crash so she said, “Take the driver and bodyguard with you.”

Huang Ruobing’s concern made Ye Yang chuckle. He caressed her disheveled hair in amusement. As Huang Ruobing had her hair maintained from time to time, it was quite delicate to the touch.

Slightly annoyed by his gesture, she moved his hand away and shot a glare at him. Ye Yang pondered before deciding to tell her after all, “I’m going to see Tian Huayu.”

Huang Ruobing nodded in acknowledgment.

Huang Ruobing knew that even at her wit’s end, Tian Huayu was the last person she was going to seek help from, the reason being that she wasn’t fond of people like him.

If Huang Ruobing had a ranking for people whom she was reluctant to get in touch with, the first would be He Dong, and the second was most definitely Tian Huayu.

This wasn’t because Tian Huayu was a difficult person to negotiate with in terms of business, in fact, the man was quite straightforward. However, his sole weakness was that he was lecherous.

Even though he already had a wife and children, Tian Huayu had never stopped looking for women outside of his family. This was a typical act of keeping the family intact while having extramarital affairs.

However, this wasn’t exactly a good thing. When Ye Yang heard his name, he basically found a way to deal with Tian Huayu. The man had a wife but Tian Huayu spent the least time with her.

In such a situation, it was difficult for his wife not to start despising her husband. As time went on, his wife too came up with a solution of her own.

‘Well, aren’t you free-spirited? Then great, I’ll cheat too!’

In fact, Tian Huayu’s wife had been cheating on him for a long time now. Moreover, Tian Huayu was infertile so for this reason, his son wasn’t actually his biological son.

Also, because of the hatred she had for her adulterous husband, she had been chronically poisoning him. To this day, Tian Huayu had yet to realize the minor changes that were happening to his body.

Huang Ruobing was beautiful. Although Tian Huayu never dared to do anything to her during their collaboration, the lustful gazes he directed at her was more than enough to make her feel defiled and uncomfortable.

No woman with an ounce of self-respect would ever enjoy being looked at this way. For the sake of maintaining peace, Huang Ruobing merely felt embarrassed and irritated by Tian Huayu stealing looks at her. Had it not been for their collaboration, she would have lashed out at him.

Someone like Tian Huayu wasn’t a steadfast person. Ye Yang found him at a club. When he said he would like to have a chat with Tian Huayu, the man agreed without giving it too much thought.

Tian Huayu’s response startled Ye Yang. But other than surprise, Ye Yang didn’t display any other emotion.

“Brat, if you have something to say, spit it out. My time is precious,” Tian Huayu said impatiently. Especially after Ye Yang’s gaze grew weirder and weirder. Ye Yang even started to appear pitiful of him.

Tian Huayu was naturally baffled by such an expression.

“President Tian, if it’s such a bother for you, why did you agree to my request for a chat?” Ye Yang was aware that Tian Huayu had his eyes on the waitresses in the club. More likely than not, his patience was running out because of this.

Tian Huayu shot Ye Yang a disdainful glare and explained, “I’m just curious what you came all the way here to talk to me about.”

“I wanted to discuss a business with you, but from the looks of it… your health condition seems to be quite terrible.”

When Tian Huayu heard this, he was stunned. “And how is my health condition terrible?”

Ye Yang was quite confident as he replied, “President Tian, have you been feeling weak in your limbs as of late? And perhaps, the limpness is getting more and more frequent?”

After Ye Yang had said this, there were hints of shock in Tian Huayu’s eyes. Obviously, Ye Yang was not making things up.
