Repay? If this wretch knew that the spirit stone in her body would repress his curse, there would be no ‘repaying’. Hell, he would probably gouge out her cinnabar field even if she saved his life a hundred times over!
That was precisely why she couldn’t get too close to him.
Su Ye sighed and said softly, “If you really want to repay me, do not take off your blindfold. Consider that my repayment.” She had this feeling that he would know her every thought if they locked gazes, and felt relieved that she had blindfolded him.
Su Qing’s crimson lips curled into an amused smile, and he nodded. “Of course.”
Upon receiving his answer, Su Ye quickly turned around and headed for the door. She opened it and hurried out, leaving Su Qing by himself.
As Su Qing listened to the door being opened, his smile slowly faded. He was still sitting on the bed with the blindfold on, waiting there silently.
The red silk curtains over the bed were embroidered with mandarin ducks playing in the water, and they would flutter in the air whenever a breeze blew by. Through it all, Su Qing sat in the center of the bed in his red robes embroidered with gold thread, never moving a muscle.
It felt like time had stopped. The room was extremely silent and devoid of any sound. Even so, the handsome man kept his promise, and never took off the blindfold covering his eyes.
The silence ended after half an hour, when three black-clad men entered the room. The pungent smell of blood streamed into the room from far down the corridor. When the black-clad men saw the man seated on the bed, their murderous aura instantly faded, and all of them knelt at the edge of the bed.
“Chieftain.” The greeting was brief and reverent.
