Chapter 586: Chapter 581 Qiankun Giant Snake VS Mortal Giant Python
Liu Xuanling’s bright, beautiful eyes sparkled with an inexplicable light as she slightly squinted them, staring at Qin Feng and proposing a sparring match.
“Umm…”
Qin Feng looked up at his senior sister and for some reason, his heart skipped a beat when his gaze met those bright, beautiful eyes of Liu Xuanling.
Then, instinctively, he shook his head repeatedly, “It’s better not to. Senior sister’s Dao cultivation is profound, having advanced to the Dharma Image Realm over a decade ago, and your Cultivation Combat Power is outstanding among peers at the same level. Although I consider myself to have some skill, I am no match for senior sister, so let’s not compete, shall we?”
“What are you afraid of? Could I really hurt you?”
Liu Xuanling’s gaze revealed a certain enigmatic expression, “Back when junior brother sparred with me, I did not injure you, and now your strength has become so formidable. On the surface, you’re at the Half-Step Dharma Image level, but with your foundation as the Master of Qi Luck, ordinary Dharma Image cultivators shouldn’t be your match, right?
Perhaps, even I might not be your opponent.”
“Hehe, senior sister jests!”
Regardless of how Liu Xuanling praised him, Qin Feng remained unmoved.
He was unclear why his senior sister wanted to spar with him today, but he had a nagging feeling of unease, so no matter what Liu Xuanling said, he declined.
The two young boys, Guo Qi and Guo Lin, who were serving wine to several elders nearby, on the other hand, had their eyes shining, evidently eager to witness the sparring between the two.
Hao Shicheng, sitting on the other side, swayed back and forth, glancing at Liu Xuanling, then at Qin Feng. Unconsciously, the scene he had witnessed earlier outside the courtyard with the two holding hands over their chests popped into his mind, leading him to assume that Liu Xuanling, feeling uncomfortable about her privacy being discovered, wanted to vent her frustrations on Qin Feng.
Upon considering this possibility, Hao Shicheng stopped looking around, afraid of attracting Liu Xuanling’s attention. He kept his eyes on his nose, and his nose on his heart, staring at the wine cup in front of him as if that very Magic Artifact were the most astounding treasure in this world.
Based on his understanding of Liu Xuanling, provoking her when she was in a foul mood was guaranteed to bring him heartache–a conclusion drawn from many years of bitter experience. Though Liu Xuanling had ceased troubling him in recent years as her cultivation matured, the painful lessons of the past led him to opt for silent discretion.
Zhao Qiankun, on the other hand, seemed unbothered by these undercurrents. Instead, he appeared quite interested, encouraging Qin Feng with a few words, clearly also curious to see the abilities of this junior brother.
Alas, Qin Feng was impervious to persuasion, smiling but persistently excusing himself. Eventually, seeing that he truly had no interest in sparring, they couldn’t coerce him and let the matter rest.
Only Hao Shicheng quietly, and subtly, gave Qin Feng the thumbs up in secret. One was to praise Qin Feng for knowing when to advance and when to retreat–avoiding jumping into a pitfall–and at the same time, he admired Qin Feng’s courage for daring to provoke a woman like Junior Sister Liu. If they were to become Daoist companions in the future, he might well have a tough time ahead!
Qin Feng was unaware of the second elder brother’s thoughts, assuming that the elder brother was praising his appropriate response. He discreetly nodded towards Hao Shicheng, which made Hao Shicheng believe that Qin Feng was acknowledging a relationship between the two, which only increased his admiration for Qin Feng’s audacity!
Since the sparring match wasn’t happening, the group started talking about other matters–from the recent interesting events in the Sect to the Cultivation World, the conversation gradually shifted to the wars in Otherworlds.
“In this regard, the two junior brothers and sisters should have more to say.”
Zhao Qiankun remarked with a smile, “Even I, as the eldest disciple, have only been to the Red Flame Demon Realm. I went there as part of the second group to be transported after the Sect had already won the expedition. Aside from gaining some combat experience on the battlefield, I didn’t see much else.
Junior Sister Liu is more impressive than I am; she has visited two Medium Worlds and traveled around the Central Region for a decade, which greatly broadened her horizons.
However, if we’re talking about real accomplishments, the junior brother is the most formidable. He has been involved in the worlds our Sect is currently planning for, and even visited a High Rank World during the trials of the major Sects in the Five Domains, where he experienced many Cultivation Systems different from our own Cultivation World. Truly, I am envious.”
Upon hearing this, Guo Qi and Guo Lin’s eyes instantly lit up.
Since they couldn’t witness the sparring between the two, listening to their experiences traveling through Otherworlds was the next best thing.
Only Hao Shicheng felt a sense of gloom, “At least big brother has been to the Red Flame Demon Realm; I haven’t even left the Southern Domain.”
“Hehe, you can’t blame others for that. You’re the one who didn’t want to go.”
“Big brother is joking. It’s not that I didn’t want to go; it just so happened that I was on the cusp of advancing my cultivation, preparing to break through to the Purple Mansion, so I had to stay behind at the Mountain Gate.”
Hao Shicheng shook his head repeatedly, “Besides, someone has to remain at Heavenly Snake Ridge. You all could leave without worry, but I had to stay behind to watch over it. If I left, who would take care of the Exotic Grass in the Spiritual Medicine Garden? I couldn’t bear to leave them unattended!”
“Perhaps that last reason is the real one!”
Zhao Qiankun couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “If you’re truly worried, you could learn from your elder brother and take on a few Disciples to help you care for the Spiritual Medicine. Then you too could have the opportunity to travel to Otherworlds and witness the Odd Flowers and Exotic Grass there–it would be good for you.”
“Brother, you speak wisely.”
Hearing this, Hao Shicheng nodded repeatedly, actually taking to heart the matter of accepting Disciples.
He had previously refrained from accepting Disciples because he feared his insufficient cultivation might hinder others’ prospects, and if he couldn’t train outstanding Disciples, he would be ridiculed. While the Heavenly Snake lineage had always been sparse in numbers throughout the tens of thousands of years, it had never produced a mediocre student.
Though he was currently the weakest in terms of cultivation among his fellow disciples, Qin Feng still held the status of a cultivator at the Purple Mansion Realm. That placed him among the core forces in the Cultivation World, of course granting him the right to take disciples!
Qin Feng, with a smile on his face, handed a storage bag to Hao Shicheng, saying, “These are some exotic plants I gathered in the Underground World. They may not be of much use, but it wouldn’t hurt to cultivate them for fun. Second senior brother, please don’t look down on them.”
“Oh?”
Hao Shicheng hurriedly took the storage bag and extracted a jade box from it. Upon opening it, he saw a seven-colored mushroom radiating brilliant light, which immediately caught his eye, “This is indeed an extraordinary item; it’s worth a good study.”
“The treasures of the myriad worlds are endless. If you’re willing, second senior brother, strive hard in your cultivation, travel the void, and there will be countless treasures that dazzle you!”
The group joked and laughed for a while, and when Zhao Qiankun saw his two disciples eagerly waiting for Qin Feng and Liu Xuanling to share their Otherworld experiences, he steered the conversation in that direction with a chuckle.
Although he was of a rough disposition, he possessed a nuanced understanding, having followed Ning Wuxu since his youth, he learned patience in mentoring disciples.
Qin Feng and Liu Xuanling were generous with their words, sharing what they had seen and heard in the Central Region, as well as some interesting experiences from the Otherworld.
With their extensive knowledge, they spoke of unheard-of events in the Cultivation World, captivating everyone listening.
New and novel things were intriguing not only to the newly-entered Inner Sect disciples but even to Zhao Qiankun, who listened with great interest.
He was particularly curious about the Mortal Giant Python from the world where Qin Feng had participated in the trials.
Zhao Qiankun practiced the Qiankun Giant Snake Shaking Star Divine Skill!
When this cultivation technique was perfected, one could transform into the Qiankun Giant Snake, navigating the void and shaking stars. This bore some resemblance to the Mortal Giant Python that could encircle the Midgard World with its body–an equally formidable creature known for its massive size.
Hence, Zhao Qiankun was keen to witness the Mortal Giant Python firsthand.
Having only reached the initial formation of his Dharma Image, he still had a long journey ahead. Witnessing the Mortal Giant Python encompassing the world could be immensely beneficial for his future cultivation.
His Lifebound Spiritual Snake only contained a fraction of the Qiankun Giant Snake’s bloodline, not a pure breed. Witnessing and reflecting on the Mortal Giant Python’s form could greatly enhance his Dharma Image and Primordial Spirit, potentially avoiding many detours.
If he could also acquire some essence blood from the Mortal Giant Python for refinement, he would indeed strike it rich.
However, such thoughts were fleeting, hardly worth dwelling upon too much. Unless the two revered elders of the Sect were willing to personally assist him in battle, who else within the Beast Taming Sect could even attempt to obtain essence blood from such a colossal creature?
But with his status, how could he possibly ask those powerful elders to risk their lives for him? After all, battling an Immortal Realm serpent was dangerous even for a Golden Immortal Great Power, let alone the Gui Ling Ancestor who was not best known for his combat strength.
The disciples chatted and laughed merrily, the conversations filled with enthusiasm, continuing into the night until the moon was high in the sky, and then they dispersed one after the other.
Qin Feng sat in his Cave Mansion, looking around, and then shook his head with a light sigh.
Indeed, ever since constructing the Cave Mansion, he had spent more time outside than cultivating inside–leaving him wondering whether the resources spent were truly worthwhile.
But now, his wealth far exceeded that of the past, with numerous treasures in his Demon Refining Pot. He no longer overly concerned himself with the resources initially invested; after all, the majority was provided by the Sect to take care of a True Disciple like him.
He sat quietly for a moment, then gathered his scattered thoughts and began to sit in meditation to cultivate and comprehend the Laws.
…
“Senior Brother Qin, are you there?”
One clear morning, as Qin Feng was perusing a Daoist Book for insights, a soft voice passed through the entrance of the Cave Mansion, interrupting his train of thought.
“Hmm?”
Qin Feng paused, recognizing the familiar voice.
After a brief contemplation, the image of a serene woman immediately came to mind.
“Why is she here?”
While Qin Feng was puzzled, he did not delay and got up to walk out of the Cave Mansion. He lifted the Prohibition and stepped outside.
There, outside the door, stood a slender girl in white, standing gracefully and quietly looking at Qin Feng.
If it wasn’t Lin Jingxin, then who could it be?
