Chapter 768: Chapter 768: Let your cousin teach you how to be a person
Brandon Piers, of course, knew what Abigail was thinking. He reached out to rub her raven-black long hair and shook his head. “Not really.”
Abigail’s hair was almost dry. She simply lay in Brandon Piers’ arms. Hearing this, she looked sideways at Brandon’s eyes, as if trying to see if the man was attempting to whitewash Eva Bell.
Brandon saw Abigail’s intention. He leaned in and pecked her lips. “No lie. It was Hayden Bell’s mother who approached her first.”
“Hmm?” Abigail became interested.
“It’s quite a dramatic tale. His mother was critically ill at the time, and Eva Bell was the most favored. She sought her out, hoping she could bring Hayden Bell back home…” Brandon’s clear and gentle voice flowed by Abigail’s ear. He didn’t mention that at that time, Eva was a proud and sympathetic young lady spoiled by thousands. She said she would help Hayden Bell and his mother, but more because she saw them as stray dogs to be casually given alms. However, after a few years of getting along, they ended up having the deepest feelings for each other. So when Hayden had an accident, she was filled with guilt.
Abigail listened, and she could roughly guess what kind of story this was. Her feelings were mixed as she nestled closer in Brandon’s arms.
Brandon, sensing this, held her tighter. Just when he thought Abigail had fallen asleep, he heard his little girl’s faint voice. “If only I could travel back thirty years. I want to attend his concert, to tell him to hold on a bit longer.”
To hold on a bit longer–maybe the difficult days would end. To hold on a bit longer–maybe there would be new hope in life. To hold on a bit longer–rather than stepping into the abyss.
But she could only dream about it.
“Then we might really have become cousins,” Brandon responded suddenly to Abigail.
Abigail was stunned, then corrected him disdainfully. “It’s first cousins once removed.”
“Same thing. But if it had to be that way, I wouldn’t mind a forbidden love,” Brandon said, unable to imagine how he would manage without Abigail.
Abigail stared at him with disbelief. The next moment, Brandon kissed her lips, whispering in her ear during their passionate moment, “Cousin.”
Her body tensed up before her mind, then she bit down on Brandon’s shoulder with all her strength. As Brandon groaned, she softly murmured by his ear, “Let Cousin teach you how to behave.”
Brandon chuckled lightly.
His clear voice rippled by Abigail’s ear, making her admit defeat as she turned to escape. But Brandon picked her up, saying, “Didn’t you say you wanted to teach me? I’m all ears.”
Abigail was carried in a highly suggestive posture, lying in his arms with her freshly bathed, pink cheeks. “Let me go first, then I’ll teach you,” she said.
“Really?” Brandon drawled his words deliberately. Looking at the pink and tender little woman in his arms, he couldn’t control his desires any longer. Seeing her made all his restraint vanish instantly. He wrapped his long arms tightly around Abigail, exerting more and more force, as if only by doing so could he truly feel her presence.
He never thought that he would care so deeply for a woman one day. Her every expression and movement tugged at his every nerve.
Abigail was swept up in the intense emotions emanating from Brandon. Their eyes met, her heart trembled gently. She raised her beautiful face to say “yes.” But before the words left her mouth, they were swallowed by the man. She leaned her face back, letting the man kiss her little by little, her skin flushing pink.
Any thought of punishment or making him pursue her again was lost in the moment. Abigail melted in Brandon’s embrace, her mind a whirl of confusion, her focus solely on the handsome man in front of her.
At that heated moment, footsteps echoed from outside, drawing closer.
Abigail’s sharp hearing caught the approaching steps. Her body tensed up, struggling to get out of Brandon’s embrace. But the man held her waist firmly, unwilling to let go until there was knocking at the door.
Knock, knock, knock…
“Madam, it’s time for dinner,” Housekeeper Piers’ voice called from outside.
Abigail’s eyes were shimmering, her body trembling lightly in Brandon’s embrace out of nervousness, making her even more lovable. Brandon was displeased, gripping Abigail’s head and kissing her again.
Little did he know, Housekeeper Piers muttered a bit and was about to leave. But then Teddy came over, dragging Aunt Claudia’s hand and calling for Mommy.
Abigail, overwhelmed by the emotional kiss, suddenly regained her senses, her mind clearing a bit. She leaned in and bit Brandon.
Brandon winced in pain and finally let Abigail go.
Abigail touched her flushed cheeks as she walked toward the bathroom, shouting to the outside.
Housekeeper Piers then realized that Madam was really in the bedroom. He stood to the side, chatting with Aunt Claudia while waiting for Abigail. But when the door opened, they saw their Second Young Master with a grim face.
Even the ever-stable Housekeeper Piers was stunned by the Second Young Master’s expression and looked over apprehensively. “Second Young Master…”
Normally, Brandon Piers respected Housekeeper Piers. But today, he only gave the old man a cold glance. Then he bent down, scooped his son off the floor, and said, “Daddy will take you to eat.”
Teddy hadn’t seen Brandon in a few days. Now, being lifted up made him very happy as he called out for his Daddy in Brandon’s embrace. But he didn’t forget that he still wanted Mommy. Stretching his little hand toward Abigail’s room, he reached out longingly.
Unfortunately, Brandon was frustrated and looked displeased with everyone, especially the little culprit Teddy. He ignored the boy’s eager calls for Mommy and carried him downstairs.
Housekeeper Piers and Aunt Claudia exchanged glances, then looked at Abigail, who had just come out of the bathroom with water droplets still on her face but couldn’t hide her springtime glow. They simultaneously sighed, thinking they had come at the wrong time.
But young people do have abundant energy…
Abigail blushed even more under Aunt Claudia’s meaningful gaze. “What are you doing?” she asked abruptly.
“Cough, cough, nothing, nothing. As long as you’ve reconciled, that’s all that matters,” Aunt Claudia realized her indiscretion and, coughing lightly, quickly went after Teddy and the Second Young Master.
Abigail’s face turned beet red hearing this. She muttered under her breath, “Who says we’ve reconciled? We haven’t reconciled yet.”
“Oh? That’s my fault. I’m the one to blame for disturbing Madam and the Second Young Master… reconciled,” Housekeeper Piers, realizing why Brandon was so angry from Abigail’s words, hurriedly apologized to her.
Hearing this, Abigail gulped. Why was Housekeeper Piers apologizing to her?
But before Abigail could say more, Housekeeper Piers had already scurried away.
Abigail stood there speechless.
She and the air around her were both thick with awkwardness.
Taking a deep breath, Abigail embarrassedly followed Brandon’s pace. When she entered the dining room, she didn’t forget to cast a fierce glance at the man. But Brandon acted as if he didn’t see it, greeting Grandpa Smith and chatting with Clara Smith.
Just then, Eva Bell walked in, and the atmosphere in the dining room suddenly shifted.
