Luo Jiner was about to leave when the guards at the door stopped her, “The Marquis has ordered that Miss Luo cannot leave the courtyard.”

“Impossible, why would the Marquis treat me this way? Do you realize I am carrying the Marquis’ child? Can you bear the responsibility if something happens?” Luo Jiner stated arrogantly.

This response infuriated Luo Jiner, and she felt helpless but to stay in her room. She glared at the two guards, secretly fuming; she hadn’t expected the Marquis to confine her. It seemed her plan to frame and entrap the concubine wouldn’t work.

She turned away, muttering to herself, “What do I do now, what should I do?”

Suddenly, her eyes lit up as someone came to mind, and she hurriedly called for Qiu Zhu.

Seeing the person with a swollen face, she feigned deep remorse and approached, about to touch her cheek, but Qiu Zhu dodged in fear.

“M-Miss,” she stuttered, terrified of being hit again.

Qiu Zhu dared not accept the silver note, hastily making excuses, “I don’t need it, really.”

“Day after tomorrow, I’ll come to pick you up,” Pei Huaian said, remembering Pei Siyang’s current condition, he warned, “His temper isn’t great due to his health condition. I hope you can be patient with him.”

“I understand.”

If she were in his position, unable to ever walk again, her mindset wouldn’t be great either. She could imagine that Pei Siyang’s demeanor might be somewhat despondent and his temper severe.
