Chapter 1453: Chapter 1425 Reserved Opinions on Trifles
The Organizing Committee’s judges had been closely observing the dynamics of each group of competitors. JR’s involvement had clearly played a significant role; what was supposed to be a supporting role had turned into the lead. Even with such an oversight in the competition’s rules, the Organizing Committee could only pretend not to see it. Additionally, JR’s Laboratory occupied an essential position in the industry, and there were people from JR on this year’s judging panel–what more could be said?
On the other hand, Emma Clark was completing the competition on her own, in a standard fashion. Because she adhered so strictly to the rules, she attracted even more attention. Many judges were puzzled, knowing that Seven-Acre Farm had plenty of talented people, but Kiara’s current performance did not seem particularly outstanding.
Her diagnosis was meticulous and detailed, but could her speed be too slow? Time was more than half gone, and she was still dealing with the third patient. What was more surprising was that she had already summoned the stand-in for the Script without completing the questioning–could it be that she realized there wasn’t enough time and started writing the Script haphazardly?
Some less experienced judges thought this way, while some more capable judges, including Edward Farmbright, had reserved opinions.
If Kiara was as they suspected, then she was truly remarkable. To date, psychiatrists of her age who could perform at this level were few and far between; almost none had her level of judgment and expertise at her age.
Aka belonged to those without much strength, and therefore, she was quite worried Mrs. Kiara would mess things up.
“Mrs. Kiara… this… you haven’t finished yet, should I wait? Actually, I have a very good memory, it’s no problem to give me the Script later.”
Kiara smiled confidently, “No worries, just do as I said.”
“But, she–” Aka pointed to the third patient sitting in front of Mrs. Kiara, the most difficult one to handle. A girl around twenty, she wore sunglasses and a mask, her face was not clear, and she was barely cooperative. Whatever Mrs. Kiara said, she did not respond and occasionally cried.
“I already know about her situation,” Kiara reassured the young woman with a nod, “Don’t worry, I will respect your privacy. The scars you don’t want to show to the world, I will keep them secret for you.”
Aka was wide-eyed with wonder, how did Mrs. Kiara know without the patient having said anything?
Even the patient seemed surprised as Kiara encouragingly said to her.
“I know you are a kind girl. You must have an unavoidable hardship for coming here. You don’t want to expose your privacy yet you cannot abstain from participation. You don’t want to reveal your scars yet you worry about affecting my score out of kindness. I understand your dilemma.”
Aka saw tear stains beneath the girl’s sunglasses. Kiara deeply moved the patient–but Aka still had no idea what was happening.
“No need for the fourth patient to come over, I know he has manic disorder. The fifth one is either anxious or prone to violence. It would only take a few minutes to figure him out. While I was talking to patient three, ‘Emily Martin,’ I managed to write three-quarters of the Script by combining the cases of binge eating and kleptomania. Aka, you can take patients 1, 2, 3, and 4 to rehearse now. Call over number five.”
These words broadcasted clearly, stunning the judges.
How much could her mind multitask? Many had not figured out what was wrong with patient three, yet she could analyze so much, even seeing through a person’s kindness and conflict. Patient four hadn’t even spoken, and with just a glance, she knew he had manic disorder. She had a 50-50 guess for patient five without any exchange, and managed to write three-quarters of the Script while analyzing number three–a life on cheat mode!
Seeing Kiara speak these words, Edward Farmbright shrugged his shoulders at Zoel Cohen, “What did I tell you? She’s fine, isn’t she?”
With that, he stood up to leave, and Zoel asked him.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m just too worried about my Junior Sisters; my stomach is starting to hurt. I’m going to step out to calm my restless heart.”
“…Actually, you just want an excuse to eat, don’t you?” Mr. Zoel was no longer fooled by Green Tea Brother Jackson’s talk of righteousness and morality. This guy clearly saw Kiara had all but won and didn’t want to stick around–just wanted an excuse to go eat!
Eldest Brother exuded righteousness, “Others rely on skill in competition, but our Junior Leader heads into battle wielding just a spirit of ostentation and has already swept half of Ashan. As his Senior Brother, I can’t fall behind, I need to find something to do in order to showcase our Farmstead’s tactical disdain for our opponents and our dominant king’s aura!”
Who knew slinking off to eat could sound so noble; Mr. Zoel was completely baffled.
Over at Kiara’s end, there was a major turnaround, and as she proceeded methodically with the rehearsal, Farmbright Farmer strolled outside and into the cafe opposite.
Just by chance, less than three minutes after he arrived, Norris Flowery Fox also came in, and Farmbright Farmer waved to him.
“Over here~”
Both of them were not surprised to encounter each other at this moment; Norris even noticed that there were two cups of coffee on Eldest Brother’s table.
“For me?”
“Who else? I can’t stand watching anymore, and I bet you can’t either, right?” Farmbright Farmer said with a hint, and Norris gave a smile.
“True.”
Ever since Kiara spoke to Aka, the remaining competition was no longer worth watching.
“Who are you betting on this time?” Farmbright Farmer asked.
“Who else could it be?”
“I thought you were a man of firm principles,” Farmbright Farmer said.
Fox Cat shook his head, “I have no absolute stance, my only principle is the joy of life, and I use every method to find the secret to happiness. It’s not about right or wrong, only what I desire.”
“Have you ever thought, if one day, she challenges us to a showdown, who would win?” Farmbright Farmer suddenly asked seriously.
“Who could know? She’s like an enigma that can never be unraveled.”
The conversations of these two were incomprehensible to outsiders, but they understood each other implicitly, exchanging glances before both sipping their coffee.
Emma Clark had already won, and the question now was simply how much she would win by.
Just as Farmbright Farmer and Fox Cat had anticipated, Kiara’s progress was smooth, and her unorthodox approach left a lasting impression on many spectators. Two hours flew by quickly, and finally, it was time for that pivotal 15 minutes.
Zoel Cohen watched the stage intently. The first to perform was the Nanguo Team, who chose the theme of Black Devil, which depicted the impact of a son addicted to drugs on his entire family. The son’s addiction, the father’s anger, and the mother’s anxiety were all cleverly integrated into the performance. Although Zoel may not have understood the intricacies of the craft, even outsiders like him felt moved by the script.
This was the third criterion for scoring – the performance had to be engaging enough to stir emotions among the audience. Zoel couldn’t help but feel concerned for Aka.
During the Nanguo Team’s display, Eldest Brother hadn’t shown up, and after another time-consuming half hour by other contestants, it was finally Kiara’s turn as the finale. The unfazed Eldest Brother, who had been loitering outside, casually sauntered in, toothpick in mouth. He glanced at Kiara on the platform and then said something that made Mr. Zoel’s blood boil.
