Chapter 1451: Chapter 1423: Out with the Old, In with the New, Charge!
Kiara thought she would see Akatenango completely worn out or even utterly devastated today.
After all, she had unearthed the deep pain in Akatenango’s heart yesterday. It would affect anyone, let alone Akatenango, who had left in such a panic.
But seeing her today, Kiara couldn’t feel any bit of that impact; Akatenango was as defiant and domineering as ever.
Kiara sized up Molly, but Molly was focusing all her firepower on Aka; she walked up to Aka, her stiletto heels tapping and hips swaying, and looked down at her with disdain.
“Loser, don’t tell me you’re also entering the competition?”
“What if I am!” Aka stared back at Molly. She was as arrogant as ever. Aka felt an instinctual shudder at the sight of her, but it seemed there was another emotion mingled in there.
“If you cross me, I’ll make sure you have a very ugly end, losers will always be losers–hey, you!”
Molly’s finger pointed at Kiara, “You will lose miserably, I swear it in the name of JR.”
Kiara shrugged and gestured ‘bring it on’.
Does this guy have face blindness or what? Kiara wondered to herself. Asian faces all look the same in the eyes of foreigners, so she only lacked a mask, and Molly couldn’t recognize her no matter what.
Molly wanted to say something provocative, but then she saw Aka looking at her with mixed emotions, and after a moment, Aka spoke.
“I will personally take you down.”
“Huh?!” Molly looked baffled, she hadn’t misheard, had she?
“I will personally take you down, my little sister.” Aka clenched her fists. Mrs. Kiara said ‘you can’t create without destroying, to stand up, you must break first.’
Since Molly had been twisted by those people, it was up to Aka as the elder sister to personally tear it all apart.
Molly was shocked by Aka’s aura; was this still the trashy older sister she used to scare into phobias?!
At this moment, Kiara, watching the arrogant Molly, and the Masked Mysterious, observing the reinvigorated Aka, though not standing in the same spot, came to a shockingly similar conclusion.
Molly (Aka) must have been tampered with!
Kiara firmly believed that Akatenango had gone from her collapsed state of despair yesterday to her spirited resolve today because someone had been treating her.
And the Mysterious Man thought the same.
To bring out such an aura in Aka, who had a phobia, Kiara must have put in no small effort.
The key to this competition seemed to be a war between Akatris and Akatenango, but it was also a battle between Kiara and the Mysterious Man standing behind them.
“Are you scared silly? Do you know who you’re talking to?” Molly was so shaken by Aka’s declaration of war that she could barely find her voice. The sister she remembered was known as the number one loser in All Under Heaven; she could shake with fear just by Molly’s casual laugh.
But now, that loser dared to declare war on her!
“I’ve never been as clear-headed as I am at this moment, Molly. I failed to protect you when you were little, and let you turn into what you are now. Today, I will use the dignity of an older sister to shred your misguided life.”
Molly was so stunned by these words she couldn’t close her mouth, then she covered her mouth and burst into wild laughter.
“Oh hehe, seems like you’re really sick. Thinking you can win against me would take at least 100 years!”
“A hundred years is too long; we compete for the present.” Kiara spoke up.
Upon hearing Kiara’s voice, Molly’s reaction was involuntary. She held back her laughter and looked at Kiara, who tugged at the corner of her mouth, “Hope you can still laugh later.”
With a humph, Molly, in her sky-high heels, led the timid newcomer trailing behind her towards the venue.
She was determined to tear apart those ignorant women from Seven-Acre Farm–especially Akatris, who had dared to speak to her that way. Molly thought darkly. But the strangely familiar sense of danger radiating from Kiara, as well as Akatris’s unusually resolute gaze, also caused Molly a momentary heart flutter.
She felt a hint of unease and closed her eyes, the Mysterious Man’s insinuations echoing in her mind.
“Believe in yourself, tear down everyone standing in your way. Spare no one who blocks your path, annihilate them!”
When Molly opened her eyes again, they were gleaming with a bloodthirsty light, ready to destroy anyone who dared stand in her way.
On the other side, Akatris held Kiara’s hand. Mrs. Kiara was a light in the darkness, always appearing when a friend needed her most.
“No break, no build,” Kiara whispered to Akatris, who nodded, her fighting spirit blazing.
“Let’s do this!”
The competition was about to start. After pumping Akatris up, Kiara pulled out her phone and glanced at the screen.
No messages, no calls, nothing.
The man who should have been there boosting her morale was nowhere to be found.
Kiara felt a vague sense of unease, as if something was about to happen. She wasn’t worried about the competition, nor was she concerned like Zoel Cohen suggested about Camden cheating.
Her only concern was for Mario, because she had an intuition that Camden must be in some trouble now.
The bell signaling the competitors to prepare rang out. There were only five minutes left before the start of the competition.
Kiara shook off the worries in her heart. When she opened her eyes again, only her authoritative presence remained. She had to focus on the battlefield before her and trust that Camden had the capability to handle his own troubles.
With that thought, Kiara’s heart steadied. As she had said to Akatris, fear stems from one’s realm of understanding and control. She had complete faith in Camden’s abilities, which allowed her to enter the stage undistracted and free from fear.
What defines a couple is being able to confidently turn one’s back on the other in critical moments.
What defines sisters is not allowing anyone else to harm her, no matter how much she herself might tease.
This was a war between trust and fear, no break, no build.
The competition was split into two parts. The first part utilized the same question-and-answer format as the day before, which Kiara completed with ease, receiving full marks and advancing to the final. JR’s newcomer, although not scoring as high as Kiara, also made it to the final smoothly.
The reason for helpers joining in the final was because it used a form of competition common in psychodrama, namely psychological drama.
Psychodrama is a powerful group therapy technique in modern psychology that allows the participants to act out their psychological issues. It’s akin to scenario reenactment, while the psychologist plays the director, who must write a therapeutic script tailored to different types of conditions in a short time. By performing, the actors release their stress, achieving a therapeutic effect.
Such tasks may sound simple, but they are a true challenge to the psychologist’s skill level.
The directness of psychodrama is impactful. Not only can those who participate find redemption, but observers can also gain insights by watching others. This therapeutic method has not yet been widely adopted in the Domestic Region, while it is prevalent Overseas. Akatenango was confident, having read up on the Seven-Acre Farm competitor’s profile–a female Doctoral candidate who had never been abroad and seemed to lack any impressive international therapeutic experience.
They at JR had already mastered this psychodrama, which was not common in the inland areas. Even if the little girl belonged to the Seven-Acre Farm, such knowledge couldn’t be learned just from reading materials.
However, what Molly didn’t know was that, while such techniques may be rare in the Domestic Region, Kiara was not a person of this era…
