Chapter 1444: Chapter 1416 The Key to Victory is Sigmund Freud
Molly Palmer left the hotel in quite a good mood, her entire aura transformed after changing clothes, and she seemed very happy to return to being herself.
She reached out to hail a cab when suddenly, she spotted a figure standing on the opposite side of the street. Molly’s good mood froze as if doused with cold water–the woman across the street was wearing a butterfly mask.
The butterfly mask had been brought over by Kiara from the Domestic Region, and Molly had just returned to the hotel to look for it.
Seeing that figure across the street made Molly feel as though her blood was turning to ice, involuntarily recalling the painful experience of her last disastrous encounter with the masked woman.
Kiara extended her finger and shook it at Molly, signaling, “You’re not up to the challenge.”
Then she turned and walked away. Molly hurriedly followed. Kiara weaved into an alley, and Molly followed her in, unawares that she was being lured to a deserted area.
By the time Molly realized something was wrong, she was already in an empty alley, and Kiara was there, waiting for her.
“Who the hell are you?!” Molly approached Kiara, reaching to remove the mask from Kiara’s face. Just as she was about to touch it, her hand was suddenly grasped.
She hadn’t noticed anyone standing beside her until she turned around and saw a man with a covered face already holding onto her hand, and she found herself unable to move at all.
“I told you, the only way to find out who I am is to defeat me.”
“What do you want to do to me!” Molly felt very afraid, her instincts telling her the man restraining her had an unfathomably terrifying strength.
“We haven’t finished our last game, and I want to play with you again.”
“I don’t want to play! This is kidnapping!”
“Kidnapping? You think too much. I neither use force nor compel; it’s all voluntary. Of course, if you don’t have the guts to play another round with me, we’ll let you go right now.”
Molly, who hadn’t accepted her loss to Kiara from last time, was immediately hooked by Kiara’s provocation.
“You say it, how should we play?”
Hearing her agree, Mario Yuno released her hand, and Kiara gave a slight smile.
“It’s simple. We’ll gamble over ten rounds. We each come up with ten questions for the other to answer. We’ll see who has the higher accuracy rate. If you win, I’ll let you see who I am. If you lose, you’ll have to answer one question from me.”
The rules of this contest were somewhat similar to the Drinking Game they played last time, except that this time the subject matter was not limited, giving the opponent more room to maneuver. The answers in the Drinking Game were judged by the evaluators, whereas this time the answers would be written by the opponent, which was even more thrilling.
Molly naturally agreed without hesitation, and Mario Yuno glanced at his wristwatch.
“I’ll act as the judge. I’ll give you ten minutes to think of your questions. For fairness, you’ll write down your answers on a card and give them to me. After your opponent answers, I’ll determine the score based on the answers you’ve provided.”
This was the fairest method, preventing opponents from offering ambiguous answers where one could argue endlessly in their favor. By submitting the answers to a third party beforehand, there was no possibility of cheating.
“Compete here?”
“A good doctor is not limited by the environment. Let’s do it right here.”
This confidence and boldness had already put Molly under pressure, and what Mario handed over were two pieces of cardboard, which wouldn’t be too difficult to write on even while standing. But the moment she lifted her pen ready to write, the words Kiara said last time she won echoed in her mind like a curse.
From that moment on, would her 90% lucky life be replaced by 10% misfortune?
While she was lost in thought, Kiara had already briskly written down several questions that flowed naturally for her.
Soon, both had finished writing their answers and handed them to Mario. With Edward acting as the notary, they started to question and answer one another.
Molly wrote some rather obscure professional questions, and Kiara’s first few were similar to hers, both testing each other on their respective areas of expertise. Their back and forth made the quiet alleyway tense with their sharp exchanges.
Molly had thought that Kiara’s previous victory was all due to luck, but now, facing her again, she could feel her opponent’s solid foundation–the first three answers were flawless, even more precise than the answers she had written.
This put a huge psychological pressure on Molly; her palms started to sweat.
How on earth did Seven-Acre Farm come up with so many monsters?
Young Master Nong Thompson, Fox Cat, Tristan Tatum–all had already created many miracles in the industry, and now suddenly, this young woman appeared, looking even younger than herself but with astounding strength.
For Molly to reach her current level, the journey had been arduous, even defying the odds–only she knew the extent. She thought her professional expertise, gained through sacrifice and happiness, would allow her to reign supreme. Yet out of the blue came Yeremy Chevez, stirring up anxiety within her, making her mindset even less stable. Her speed in answering Kiara’s questions slowed, and a few minor errors were enough to reveal her anxiousness.
Mario looked down at Kiara’s answers, the corner of his mouth twitching almost imperceptibly.
His daughter-in-law’s borderline mystical expertise remained intact. She had said that after three questions, Molly would surely make a mistake, and sure enough, there were several errors, all within Kiara’s expectations. His daughter-in-law’s grasp of human nature had reached an incredible level. However, Camden also remembered Kiara’s advice, to overlook Molly’s minor errors until after the fifth question.
Under the state of anxiety, Molly answered Kiara’s four questions. Looking at Kiara, although she wore a mask, one could tell from her steady tone and casual gestures that she was at ease. Clearly, her opponent hadn’t put forth her full effort, whereas Molly had already given it her all.
The type of Q&A Kiara had chosen today, without any limitations, tested comprehensive abilities. The psychological implication she had set up for Molly before still lingered, coupled with her own immense knowledge from two lifetimes and the guidance of diligent teachers, she firmly suppressed Molly as they entered the fifth question.
It was from the fifth question onward that Molly fell into Kiara’s trap.
“Sigmund Freud once said, ‘All human psychology is based on sexuality. Please briefly describe the main content of Freud’s theory,'” Kiara said calmly, unveiling her first trap.
Just on the other side of the wall, Aka held the bird watching device with a contorted expression, while Zoel stood beside her, clueless.
They had been called over by Kiara, who hadn’t explained the reason behind the summon, simply suggesting they’d understand once they got there. They followed the agreed upon instructions to hide, and Kiara even passed on the bird watching device she had used previously to Aka, which is how she overheard the scene.
Aka didn’t understand what Mrs. Kiara was up to. If she wanted a one-on-one comparison with Molly, why not ask a more difficult question? That is basic knowledge, isn’t it?
Not to mention Molly, even Academic dregs like Aka could come up with a thing or two. Was Mrs. Kiara simply handing out points?
But Aka didn’t realize that this simplest of questions had caused the recently exercised Molly to visibly pale.
People who are too clever often overthink the simplest questions. When Molly saw Kiara ask such an easy question, her heart skipped a beat. Could this Butterfly Mask woman know what she had just done?
Otherwise, why would she ask such a peculiar question?
