Kiara was puzzled; the voice and the costume were clearly Aka’s.

Camden made a “shush” gesture, then pointed to his eyes, and Kiara understood–Camden must have spotted something different in the details.

Observing people is never about appearances; it’s about the bones. Since he said it wasn’t Aka, it must be Molly Nan Guo.

Kiara paid the bill for the baby toy, and while she was paying, Mario Yuno quickly threw something else into the bag; she didn’t know what it was. Following Mario, they headed out the door, trailing behind Akatenango.

This was the first time Kiara had done something like this. The tracking was very nervewracking, slightly thrilling, but luckily, Mario was holding her, setting the pace for Kiara.

During the stakeout, Kiara kept pondering one question: why would Akatenango impersonate Aka’s dress, even copying Aka’s voice? What was her purpose?

Akatenango’s voice was finer than Aka’s, her speaking voice not as sonorous; her way of talking to Kiara was similar–if light and soft–a possible occupational hazard for a psychologist due to having to maintain a gentle voice that also hypnotizes without being overly strident, or else not only would the patients suffer, but her own voice would get ruined.

But the way Molly spoke just now was distinctly Aka’s style, not only sonorous but also hearty, and even her dress was casual and simple, much like Aka’s usual style.

If it weren’t for Mario pointing it out, Kiara wouldn’t have been able to tell it was Molly.

Maintaining a distance of about ten meters, Kiara watched as she strolled and shopped, occasionally stopping to buy some snacks, which she would only take a bite or two of and then discard. It was then Kiara started to believe the person in front wasn’t Aka.

Aka, that foodie, as Yuzo Joel would put it, was like a piggy baby, someone who would even devour the plate if she could; she would never waste food.

Seizing the moment when Molly was not paying attention, Kiara asked Mario in a low voice,

“How did you find out she wasn’t Aka?”

Mario pointed at Molly’s legs, “Her stance is different from Aka’s; their centers of gravity are not the same, and while you may think their voices are identical, I can hear the difference; she’s deliberately imitating.”

Kiara was impressed with his ability to discern such subtle differences that others would miss.

But the next second, Mario goofed up.

He gestured with his hand, “The main reason is, this ‘thing’ is much too different in size. Look at Aka, then look at hers.”

“…” Kiara decided to retract her recent admiration for him. Men… pfft!

“Don’t get me wrong–not that I’m interested in this thing–but it’s also part of necessary knowledge!”

Mario bared his teeth, “You were the one who said, ‘When you go overseas, who would recognize who I am anyway?'”

Kiara fancied she heard the sound of a stone hitting her foot–the stone that she had picked up herself. Sigh.

While the two were playfully flirting, they did not stop moving; Mario smoothly led Kiara in their tailing. Whenever Molly turned around, he could promptly pull Kiara into various poses, like pretending to inquire about the price at a street stall, or both turning to look at the scenery, or casually bending over to tie a shoelace, eventually dodging perfectly every time.

Seeing Molly enter the Family Hotel, Mario also led Kiara inside. The hotel, which mostly catered to overseas tourists and had English-speaking staff, was easily navigated by Camden telling the front desk that he was with the blonde lady who had just gone up and slipping a tip to smoothly find out which floor Molly had gone to.

The two took the elevator, Kiara’s heart pounding.

She remembered the time when he took her through the ceiling to spy on Norris Flowery Fox’s secret; this sort of tracking and investigation sparked excitement, and today’s excitement was on a whole other level.

Fortunately, Camden was quite experienced at these things and was very steady. He found the room where Aka was and Kiara watched as Mario fumbled with the door next door–her heart raced.

Kiara was confused as she watched him take out a strange object from the box, which had a large suction cup on the front end and was connected to a pair of headphones.

Looking at the box, which had a drawing of a bird-like shape and indecipherable text, she asked Camden,

“What is this?”

“Babe, haven’t I told you many times to read more comics instead of all those technical books? If you were as diversely read as I am, wouldn’t you recognize at first glance that this is the same gadget Conan often uses to solve cases?”

Mario put the headphones on Kiara and pressed the trigger; the show began.
