Chapter 284: Chapter 59 Destiny Tracking
Guided by the Power of Destiny Feedback, Anvis carefully controlled the weight of the Engraving Pen as he inscribed one peculiar Black Metal Rune after another.
In a moment, a Prophetic Magic Array enveloped with a faint sense of distortion appeared on the Mirror Stone ground in the center of the room.
In the center of the vast dark Array, two unique twin moon patterns emitted an eerie glow of silver and purple, especially eye-catching.
This was a special Destiny Diversion Array, and Anvis planned to use its power to briefly delve into the superficial layers of the Net of Destiny and investigate the whys and wherefores of the entire matter.
He wanted to see if behind this matter there was some High Rank Prophet causing mischief.
Casually taking out a specially processed Secret Magic Crystal, Anvis gently tapped its surface, causing the Elements of ice and light to surge forth, grinding it into the finest powder and sprinkling it across the whole Array.
As the sparkling particles of the Crystal fell, the originally pitch-black lines of the Array were suddenly coated with a layer of color akin to Starlight.
With Anvis’s movements, the entire Ritual Array was immediately fully activated.
A strange and Mysterious atmosphere slowly spread out from the Array.
The other Light Sources in the room gradually dimmed, the air began to blur, twist, and distort.
Only the faint Starlight of the Array itself continued to emanate undisturbed.
Feeling the Power of Destiny operating in the room, the densely inscribed Amplifying Inscriptions on the room walls also lit up.
In Anvis’s Perception, as time went by, the environment inside the room gradually became more distorted and hollow, as if falling into the boundless dark deep space.
The Ritual Array beneath him was like a lonely full moon at his feet, while the Runes on the surrounding walls were like distant and dim stars against a dark background.
Under the illumination of ‘Moonlight’ and ‘Starlight,’ Anvis saw his own body suddenly become as transparent as Crystal.
A strand emanating a splendid Starlight stretched forth from his body, spreading towards a far distant place unknown.
Following this strand of Starlight, Anvis’s consciousness seemed to suddenly separate from his body, traveling at an almost unimaginable speed toward the other end of the line.
As Anvis’s consciousness ‘left’ his body, the light of the Ritual Array on the ground suddenly brightened. A Magic Crystal placed at the Core ignited a Magic Flame Light as if it had substance, with the contained Magic Power rapidly being consumed.
But, Anvis could no longer see all this. In his Perception, after a very brief period of time, everything around him suddenly transformed from pitch black to a riot of colors.
Countless ethereal lines flickered in the air, and the line that brought Anvis here was likewise among them.
This was the superficial space of the Net of Destiny, the private domain and backyard of High Rank Prophets.
Normally, Anvis’s own Prophet strength would not suffice to bring him here. But by leveraging the Secret Magic Ceremony and a large number of Amplifying Inscriptions, he briefly ‘smuggled’ himself in.
The cost was to transfer the pressure of the Net of Destiny entirely to the Array; he must find the traces of Destiny he needed before the pre-placed Magic Crystals burned out, and then leave here.
Otherwise, the massive backlash of the Net of Destiny might cause him to lose his ability to foresee permanently.
Floating among countless lines of completely different appearances, Anvis began to guide the Secret Techniques recorded in the Mercury Prophecy Book, searching for the specific line he needed.
In a moment, he suddenly felt an intuition, his thoughts moved, and his figure vanished into thin air.
When he reappeared, he was already in front of an extremely short sky-blue line.
This was the Destiny line of the Vortex Crystal, and its short length was due to its outsider Identity.
No longer wasting time, Anvis’s consciousness gently touched the line, beginning to trace back its past along this strand.
Gradually, he seemed to see the moment the Crystal Egg hatched, saw himself placing the egg in the Array, saw himself gradually upping the bid, and finally successfully winning the Crystal Egg in an instant…
Wait a minute!
Stopping abruptly here, Anvis paused.
This section seemed a bit off.
When he bid on that crystal at the auction house, the line of destiny slightly bent, and then an extra transparent line branched off.
With a somber face, Anvis watched that slender transparent thread extend into distance, eventually entwining with another line shrouded in dense mist, representing Fiona’s.
A rather clever trick, with no trace of forceful connection; they naturally came to be entangled together.
It even triggered a space fluctuation like a coincidence, causing the spatial protective array in his laboratory to fail at a critical moment.
But alas, where there’s action, there are traces.
The Prophet seemed flawless, but that unique sense of manipulation could not be completely erased.
From that transparent line, he sensed a familiar style of Prophecy Skill.
At this moment, Anvis noticed a pre-warning from the array’s alarm mechanism embedded in his mind.
It indicated that the array’s remaining magic power had dropped below twenty percent. After one last look at that line, Anvis, without a trace of reluctance, quickly returned to his own body along the fluctuations of the array.
In the secret chamber, Anvis, standing by the side of the array, suddenly stirred and slowly opened his eyes.
In front of him at the core of the array, the last bit of magic power in the Magic Crystal Core was completely burnt out, turning into a crystal devoid of any magic power.
Indeed, someone had intervened, and their choice of timing as well as the sophistication of their manipulation far exceeded that of an ordinary high-rank prophet.
The manipulator did not choose either Anvis or Fiona directly, but instead, acted on that crystal, maximally enhancing concealment and avoiding destiny backlash.
Facing the southwest side of the wall, Anvis’s gaze seemed to penetrate the heavy walls and rocks, envisioning the immense Sky City far above in the sky.
“Stargazer…”
…
Three Magic Time hours later, Anvis received a young girl in his laboratory who had brought along two pets.
“Silver, activate all detection arrays, prepare for a scan, and fetch the incubation records of the Crystal Egg.”
After sending the two pets back to the incubation area, Anvis pulled out a Magic Light Screen, showing Fiona the entire process of the Crystal Egg’s incubation.
Having been out to play for not even half a day, the Vortex Young Dragon looked dull and listless as it returned to the familiar room.
Feeling cold and trembling, when could the dragon stand up again?
On the other side of the protective array, the little kitten Kate curled up, shivering.
What exactly had it done wrong? Why treat it this way?
“Bro, this won’t hurt them, right?”
Outside the protective shield, Fiona watched the two inside with a concerned face.
“No, it won’t, Fiona, trust me.”
Anvis gave her a reassuring smile, flashed a thumbs up, and manually entered commands into the Magic Light Screen for Silver.
“Perform a comprehensive ultra-high-density scan, keep the detection power controlled to below lethal levels.”
