Chapter 1449: Chapter 896: Emperor Gu
It was a massive head resembling that of a lion, crowned with horns and bearing a faintly discernible crimson fissure at the center of its brow, splitting the enormous lion-like head entirely in two.
It was clear that originally, there should have been a vertical eye there, but at present it had been gouged out.
A hollow void, woefully pitiful.
If any of the elder cultivators were to see this massive lion-like head, they would undoubtedly be struck with immense shock.
Crowned with horns, bearing a vertical brow-eye–this “lion head” in its lifetime was none other than the ancestor of the Heavenly Eye Divine Lion clan, a supreme figure from Ancient Times, hailed as the Heavenly Eye Divine King. Beneath its Heavenly Eye, the heavens burned and the earth was obliterated. Its power was unimaginable, capable of discerning illusions, deducing the future, and wielding a dual-purpose of offense and defense.
Several eras ago, it had resolutely ventured into The Boundary Sea to uncover the secrets of Emperor’s Creation, but from that moment on, it vanished without a trace, never returning, even to this day.
The Heavenly Eye Divine Lion clan had exhausted every effort attempting to reconnect with this ancestor, but to their dismay, it had perished within the Ultimate Ancient Land.
Despite the passage of interminable years, this head remained as lifelike as it had been the day before, with its flesh still uncorrupted, appearing vivid and elastic.
Amid the howling Gang Wind, clusters of eerie black flowers suddenly sprouted from the crevices in the flesh of the Heavenly Eye Divine King’s head.
The roots were intricate, firmly burying themselves within, swaying in the whistling cold wind.
These flowers, half a meter high, were entirely jet black, as though stained with ink, yet their petals were crystal-clear and jade-like, stunningly black but translucent.
The Dark Elixir of Immortality!
Placed in the outside world, such treasure medicinal plants would be enough to drive even the Immortal Kings to madness, for these treasures not only bestowed longevity but were infused with the lifetime essence and Great Taoist insights of a supreme giant.
But at this moment, these Dark Elixirs of Immortality appeared abandoned.
No, not abandoned.
Suddenly, a few muffled, strange sounds emanated from the darkness.
Moments later.
A tiger’s roar erupted.
Mountain peaks trembled.
Frenzied winds surged, sand and stones scattered, and some towering mountains were shattered under the force of this roar, cascades of rocks tumbling down.
Two ghastly beams of light pierced through the air, chilling and menacing, capturing souls and suppressing the rising dust entirely.
A cyclopean tiger, over dozens of meters tall, emerged slowly from the shadows.
Its spine stood tall, and its scarlet singular eye burned fiercely with unveiled murderous wrath.
The creature ambled slowly until it reached the enormous “lion head,” its gaze dripping with mockery as it stared at the fallen figure.
This cyclopean tiger, though colossal, was nonetheless dwarfed by the Heavenly Eye Divine Lion ancestor; it was no larger than its vertical eye had once been.
“Huh-cha!”
In an instant, tiger claws lashed out with force, its slender razor-edged talons cleaving off a massive chunk of flesh and tearing it into its maw.
With only a few chews, the cyclopean tiger greedily wolfed it down.
Still seemingly unsatisfied, it licked its paws anew, foul-smelling saliva mingling with the remnants of shredded flesh. Suddenly, the cyclopean tiger leapt high, landing nimbly beside the black crystal-like flowers atop the massive head, ravenously ripping into the Dao Fruit Flowers.
Though its size was but one percent of the gigantic head, the appetite of this cyclopean tiger was astoundingly monstrous. Within mere moments and a few bites, the head of the Heavenly Eye Divine King was devoured clean, its brain leaving no trace. No wastage–every morsel consumed.
After finishing its feast, the cyclopean tiger leapt downward, darting deeper into the shadows, weaving and twisting through treacherous terrain as its surroundings began to morph drastically.
A faint glow emanated from all around.
Three Sky Rivers of differing hues cascaded from unknown spaces beyond.
Black, gold, and silver.
Upon closer inspection, one would find they were not rivers at all–they were flows of blood.
Blood of three distinct colors entwined and intertwined, radiating an endless and terrifying power of Order. Should an outsider trespass here, even immortality would not spare an Immortal King from misfortune.
As the cyclopean tiger wandered here, its pace seemed to slacken, casually strolling towards a stele.
The stele appeared ordinary, resembling the most common of stone markers. Yet having been placed within this domain, it could hardly be considered a banal artifact.
If Shi Hao were present, he would surely feel a sense of familiarity.
For the stele’s material matched that of the Big Luo Sword Fetus and bore resemblance to the Three Generations Bronze Coffin.
Upon the stele were inscribed several lines:
Above the Upper Heaven, eternal existence, reincarnation unreturnable, the supreme land.
Continuing forward.
Lay a staircase stretching endlessly upward.
Boundless and infinite, its end unknown.
Ascending step by step.
Its pinnacle revealed a vortex.
Here, the rules grew utterly chaotic and disordered.
At the vortex’s center seemed to reside an invisible Black Hole, endlessly devouring all that surrounded it.
Be it space, time, or the indescribable power of laws–all were ravaged and fragmented within the Black Hole’s pull.
Time held no significance, while the surrounding space appeared infinitely stretched, distorted, tangled, conflicting, dissolving, and rebirthed.
The Gate of Heaven.
To pass through was to reach Above the Upper Heaven.
After the cyclopean tiger passed through the vortex.
The once quiet Boundary Sea erupted into a frenzy.
A radiant divine light streaked across the distance, surging with holy might, its grandeur overwhelmingly vast, unstoppable. As it approached, the entire realm boiled over.
Wherever the divine light traveled, the ferocious Gang Wind that could easily shred an Immortal King was forcibly crushed and obliterated.
