Ye Chengwei smiled. “There must be a lot of people who call you Ranran or Little Ran. I just want to call you An-an. It’s the name that belongs only to me.”

The gentle tone had a tinge of dominance, but it was likeable.

Indeed, only he called her An-an.

An Ran smiled, holding the roses. No girl disliked this gentle dominance. Her smile was genuine and made her even more beautiful. Her gaze was like a spring creek.

Ye Chengwei sat down beside her, not wanting to be so far away from her. The server immediately moved the utensils over, putting them in an organized manner.

Right then, the musician standing nearby started playing the violin. The melody was graceful and filled with emotions.

Ye Chengwei snapped his fingers and a server poured two glasses of red wine for them.

Ye Chengwei raised his glass and clinked lightly against An Ran’s. “An-an, cheers to your anniversary.”

“My anniversary?” An Ran was confused, but lifted her glass hesitantly. What anniversary?

Ye Chengwei’s smile deepened, making An Ran think that something was wrong. Indeed, his words instantly made An Ran’s cheeks heat up.

“Didn’t you become an adult yesterday? This is a special day that you only have once in your life. Shouldn’t you commemorate it?”

An Ran glared at him. Even though the server stood to the side, seemingly very professional, it didn’t mean he couldn’t hear. How could he mention such private matters in front of someone else?

But Ye Chengwei smiled while drinking wine. “Cheers to the start of our sweetness.”

An Ran didn’t move, but Ye Chengwei finished his glass. His hand had been resting on An Ran’s shoulder, but now, it crawled down her swan neck like an ant, squeezing her earlobe.

Carrying a fragrance, he turned and leaned toward her ear. “What, you’re unwilling to start sweetly with me? Or are you acting cute to make me drink the wine for you? And then feed it into your mouth like a creek?”

These words were too cringeworthy.

But it worked. An Ran quickly emptied her glass. It was quality red wine, but she furrowed her brows.

Ye Chengwei patted her face. “Oh my. Should I have Sister Rong help you sign up for a manners class?”

“So you like a cultured girl,” An Ran said, not agreeing.

Ye Chengwei moved close to her ears and murmured, “I like you.”

An Ran’s heart jumped up, but Ye Chengwei seemed to not know what his words had caused. His expression was unchanged.

An Ran, why are you panicking? He just said the word “like.” It’s not rare. Who knows how many girls he’d said that to already?

There’s no need to take it seriously!

Ye Chengwei didn’t like to talk when eating Western food, so they didn’t chat. After the meal, Ye Chengwei gently hugged An Ran’s thin waist and left the restaurant.

He called his chauffeur over to drive while he sat in the back, hugging An Ran. He held her in his arms, as gentle as water. An Ran rested against his chest. It was oddly comforting to hear his heartbeat.

The two didn’t speak along the way, but this wordless quietude was the most heartwarming.

“I like you” kept spinning around An Ran’s mind. She said she shouldn’t mind it, but she kept thinking about it.
