Chapter 1030: Mo Family Princess’s Marriage [32] Chapter 1030: Mo Family Princess’s Marriage [32] “This is…” Mrs. Xu frowned.
Mo Yaoxiong hurriedly spoke, “Mom, have you forgotten? He is Yebai.”
“Yebai?” Mrs. Xu slowly nodded, “He has returned to the country?”
“Yes, he has been back for half a year now. Work has been so busy that I forgot to tell you…”
“I see.” Mrs. Xu nodded, but her brows furrowed tighter.
With both of her pale hands tightly embracing the young man’s arm, Weiyi lifted her little face, her eyes brimming with infatuation, her whole body almost clinging to his, the posture…
Was exceptionally intimate!
“Xiaobai! Why didn’t you tell me when you went out of town? Did you go alone? How did you spend New Year’s Eve? Did you have dinner? I sent you messages but you didn’t reply…”
On this side, Weiyi chattered non-stop.
Yebai did not speak, his expression remained indifferent, and he simply raised a hand.
Weiyi’s fingers were forced to let go.
She pursed her pretty little face, “Xiaobai, I’m talking to you…”
“I’m getting my luggage,” Yebai said.
Weiyi felt embarrassed: “…Oh.”
So he was going to get his luggage…
All right then!
She pulled back her hands and, because it was cold, tucked them back into the pockets of her coat.
Last night, a snowfall blanketed Nancheng. Although it was light and the grounds had been cleaned by the servants, the large old house bore no traces of snow, except for the exceptionally cold air.
Once Yebai had his suitcase ready, Weiyi immediately shouted, “Xiaobai, grandma is here, quickly hand your luggage to Uncle Liu, I’ll take you to see her…”
Uncle Liu hurried forward, “Young Master Xiao, let me handle the luggage.”
Yebai’s eyes were downcast, and he remained silent.
When the driver had taken the suitcase, Weiyi cheerfully looped her arm through Yebai’s again and waved her little hand, “Grandma!”
Mrs. Xu smiled, “Yiyi, walk slowly, watch out for slippery floors.”
“Got it!” Weiyi pulled Yebai forward, whispering, “Xiaobai, you haven’t seen my grandma since you returned, have you?”
Yebai did not respond.
Weiyi continued, “Don’t worry, grandma adores me, so she will definitely like anyone I like.”
That statement was somewhat cryptic.
Yebai slightly lifted his thin lips, an expression that was fleeting.
Approaching, Mo Yaoxiong asked, “Weren’t you supposed to be on a delayed flight? How come you came back so early?”
“I came back as soon as I finished my work,” Yebai said indifferently, then looked at Mrs. Xu, “Grandma, happy New Year.”
Mrs. Xu nodded with a smile, “Good, good…”
Weiyi’s smile stiffened, and she immediately asked, “Xiaobai, why didn’t you wish me a happy New Year?”
Before Yebai could speak, Mo Yaoxiong’s voice rose, “Weiyi!”
Weiyi felt wronged, “What did I do?”
Since they met, Xiaobai had barely spoken to her.
She was not stupid!
However, understanding that he was tired from his journey, she had considerately not asked him for a New Year’s gift. Yet, Xiaobai had greeted grandmother as soon as he saw her and had not even greeted her…
Thinking of this, Weiyi asked, “Xiaobai, did you bring me any gifts this time? You didn’t get me anything last time, and now it’s New Year…”
“Weiyi!” Mo Yaoxiong’s tone grew stern, “What’s the matter with you? All you think about is gifts! Weren’t the presents you received yesterday enough?”
“But those gifts weren’t from Xiaobai!”
They were New Year’s greetings from uncles and grand-uncles from the Mo Family’s business connections, all old-fashioned and cheesy.
Weiyi said, “Dad, if you like, you can have all those gifts.”
Mo Yaoxiong: “You…”
“That’s enough,” Mrs. Xu intervened, “Aren’t you cold? Let’s go inside.”
Weiyi hummed twice and reached out a hand to support her grandmother, “Grandma, let’s go!”
Mo Yaoxiong stood there, watching his daughter supporting her grandma on one side and linking arms with the other.
His gaze darkened and it took a while before he followed them.

Inside the warm villa’s living room, servants were busy moving items that Mrs. Xu had brought.
Weiyi sat there, holding a cup of hot tea, her eyes constantly glancing towards Yebai’s room.
But since he had closed his room door upon entering, she couldn’t see…
“Yiyi?”
Mrs. Xu called out a few times and couldn’t help but gently tap on Weiyi’s arm.
“What is it, Grandma?” Weiyi turned to look at her.
Perhaps because of the New Year, the young lady was wearing a festive red sweater under her coat, which she had taken off upon entering the house, revealing the sweater which accentuated her exceptionally fair skin and made her beautiful cat-like eyes appear even clearer and brighter.
Mrs. Xu asked her, “Yiyi, what are you looking at?”
“I’m looking for Xiaobai,” Weiyi candidly replied. “He went to put away his luggage, and it’s been so long since he went in, why hasn’t he come out yet?”
Mrs. Xu continued, “I remember that Yebai is… five years older than you, right?”
Weiyi nodded energetically, “Right, Xiaobai already has a job now, and he was successful on his very first case, which is why he was invited to go on a business trip to Kyoto. He didn’t even spend New Year’s with me…”
“I see.” Mrs. Xu mused, “Not so young anymore…”
“Grandma.” Weiyi blinked her eyes, “What are you saying? What do you mean ‘not so young anymore’?”
