Chapter 53: Mu Jinchen, Where Is Wushuang?

Wushuang had no intention of blaming Aunt Wu; Aunt Wu was just trying to defend her. She was delighted that Aunt Wu treated her so well, even though they had just met.

“Miss Jing, I’ve watched the young master grow up. He’s like a son to me, and I can tell that he treats Miss Jing differently. Miss—”

“Aunt Wu, please stop. I’ve only known your young master for two days; there’s nothing more to say. And you can call me Wushuang or Shuangshuang.” Wushuang’s head throbbed. She had told Aunt Wu this countless times but Aunt Wu would not change her ways.

Aunt Wu just waved her off again. “Unacceptable. Unacceptable.” She paused, but it was not long before she muttered, ‘It’s only been two days and he’s already like this. Who knows what’s to become of it as time goes by?’

Wushuang caressed her forehead in defeat. How long had it been since this young master met a woman?

When Su Ran arrived home, she realized that the b*stard Jun Xiang had lied to the servants that First Day was sick to lure her back home.

After she gave Jun Xiang a severe tongue-lashing, she instructed the servants to make a pot of soup and grabbed a few pieces of clothing. She remembered that she had a spare key to Wushuang’s apartment. She then hurried to Wushuang’s apartment to get her a change of clothes and her phone charger before she hurried back to the People’s Hospital.

However, it turned out that Wushuang had not returned. She felt something was amiss. It was already night-time, and it was raining outside. There was no reason for Mu Jinchen not to send her back by now. Moreover, Wushuang’s cell phone was dead. Did he bring Wushuang home?

She had no choice but to call Jun Xiang to ask for Mu Jinchen’s phone number. Jun Xiang teased her a bunch before he eventually gave her Mu Jinchen’s number. Su Ran was willing to suffer such humiliation from Jun Xiang for Wushuang.

She dialed Mu Jinchen’s number, and it rang once then got hung up. She then tried a second time. This time, it rang for a long time before it was picked up.

Mu Jinchen was having dinner with President Guo of the Shengda Group. Of course, he dismissed the call from an unfamiliar number, but the other party called a second time. The number did not look like it was from a random telemarketer. He had just recently returned to the country as well, so not many have this number. Since he also thought to step out for some fresh air, he excused himself from President Guo Tao and walked out of the private room.

He sat down on a sofa in the lounge area as he held a cigarette elegantly. In a low and mellow voice, he casually answered, “Hello.”

As soon as he answered the phone, the voice at the other end fired like a machine gun, “Mu Jinchen, you’re finally willing to answer the phone, eh? It was only for a moment that I left Shuangshuang in your care. Where have you taken her?”

The voice was straightforward and blunt, coupled with a hint of childishness. This could only be Jun Xiang’s disobedient little wild cat.

It seemed that many called him looking for Jing Wushuang today. He half squinted and took a long drag of his cigarette. Since when was he associated with the name Jing Wushuang?

He waited until the taste of nicotine filled his entire tongue, then languidly replied, “Did Miss Su call to get a confession out of me?”

Su Ran’s straightforward and frank personality could not stand such a calm and collected response. “Confession, my foot. Shuangshuang isn’t at the People’s Hospital. I only called you because her cell phone’s dead so I can’t contact her. Where did you take her?”

He raised his eyebrows, the cigarette clipped between his middle and index fingers. He gently pressed his thumb against his temples and truthfully answered, “Miss Jing had sudden stomach pains and was taken to 518 Hospital near Film and Television City.”
