Chapter 426: Plane 426 Cultivation
The courtyard was bustling with servants tidying up. Si Nan handed over the indenture contracts of the servants to Ye Jiu before he left.
Ye Jiu originally didn’t want to accept them, but considering the massive courtyard would soon fall into disrepair without someone to look after it, and with her fourth brother’s leg still healing and in need of care, she figured that since she had taken over the courtyard, taking on a few servants as well wouldn’t make much difference.
During the night, while Ye Jiu was sound asleep, she was suddenly awakened by a series of beeping sounds.
Her consciousness sank into the Plane Space, and she saw that there were incoming connection requests on the Trading Device.
Ye Jiu instantly lost all drowsiness and began to check the messages.
Cultivation Plane, Yuan Jun Taoist, identity: Loose Cultivator. Plane credibility, Plane Space novice player.
The Cultivation Plane, eh? Ye Jiu’s interest was immediately piqued, and she began to fantasize about herself practicing Immortal Law, moving mountains and seas, and being an unbeatable fighter in the world.
So, when a video call request came through, Ye Jiu didn’t think twice before accepting it.
On the other side was an old man with a head of white hair and an air of transcendence about him, his chin adorned with a goatee, clearly someone of high standing; it was just that his backdrop wasn’t all that great, evidently dwelling in a cave.
However, thinking that cultivators must endure hardships, Ye Jiu also found it in her heart to understand.
Ye Jiu took the initiative and said, “Junior Ye Jiu, greets the Yuan Jun Taoist.”
“Hmm,” the Yuan Jun Taoist hummed with an air of superiority, which vanished in an instant, followed by him breaking character, “Got anything to eat?”
“Uh…” Ye Jiu was a bit stunned but nodded, “Yes.”
“Then send some over quickly,” Yuan Jun Taoist said, not mincing his words.
Ye Jiu’s mouth twitched slightly as she silently sent over the modern delicacies Luo Ranran had packed for her–spicy chicken, braised fish, and a portion of stewed ribs–and, additionally, a box of white rice.
Next, she saw Yuan Jun Taoist burying his head and wolfing down the food.
That ravenous sight made Ye Jiu feel embarrassed to watch.
It seemed as though this old Taoist hadn’t eaten in hundreds of years; he practically buried his face in the food container as he ate.
Finding relief only after he finally finished eating, Yuan Jun Taoist picked up the disposable utensils with satisfaction and conjured a ray of light in his hand, melting the utensils into thin air.
Then, Yuan Jun Taoist suddenly sniffed the air, pinched his nose, and ran until he reached the end of his backdrop, where he waved his hand, releasing a burst of energy that shattered the stone in front of him, and finally he stepped out of the cave.
Once outside, Yuan Jun Taoist stretched languidly and sighed, “Two hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye. This old Taoist has finally advanced and is able to see the light of day again!”
Ye Jiu: “…”
Two hundred years, are you jesting with me, an ordinary human whose total lifespan is but several decades?
No wonder he devoured the food so greedily. Locked in a cave for two hundred years without starving, Ye Jiu found it somewhat incomprehensible.
The next second, Ye Jiu was overjoyed. The world of cultivation was indeed extraordinary. Instantly, she began to ponder what she could trade.
Unfortunately, after thinking for a while, she couldn’t come up with anything on her side that might catch their interest!
Thus, since she couldn’t compete in terms of value, she had to think of more cunning ways to gain an advantage.
Before Ye Jiu could figure it out, Yuan Jun Taoist’s reproachful voice came through, “Tell me girl, just what did you use to pack the food in? Can it be eaten or not, it smells so foul!”
Ye Jiu: The odor of modern chemical materials after being incinerated is indeed something not even a deity can solve.
