Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Nothing that Bai Weiwei Couldn’t Have

Inside a luxuriously furnished VIP private room of a bar, a man in a suit and leather shoes hang up the phone and flung it onto the bar counter. He raised his hand to rub the creased area between his brows, and his expression was dark and difficult to read.

It was obvious how much he hated the woman he just spoke to over the phone.

“Brother Lingcheng, I want to go for tonight’s banquet too. Why don’t you bring me?”

Bai Weiwei saw that Li Lingcheng had put down the phone, so she approached him eagerly and started whining in a coquettish voice.

Li Lingcheng put one arm around Bai Weiwei and swirled his wine glass with his other hand. “No, I can’t.”

Qin Group had outbid him for the land on Third Avenue in the west that his grandfather had wanted, which made his grandfather very disappointed in him.

He had already prepared the piece of land in the east as a trap, and both Mr. Qin and his son had taken an interest in it. But to his surprise, on the day of the auction, Qin Group changed their minds at the last minute and took Third Avenue instead.

Later, he got someone to investigate what happened and found out that Qin Shi was actually scheduled to meet the mayor to use his connections to get that piece of land in the east. So Qin Shi just went along with that and threw away the bidding proposal that his company had taken so long to prepare.

Qin Nuan put on her makeup and didn’t wait long before the doorbell rang. An urgent delivery within the city had arrived with three packages.

Qin Nuan tore open the packages. The first one was a gift box that contained a pink long dress with a poufy chiffon skirt. Mr. Qin’s name was written on it.

The second gift box contained a long pale gray and white gradient dress, and Mrs. Qin’s name was on this one.

The last gift box contained a sweet yellow princess-style long dress, and this box had Qin Shi’s name on it.

Qin Shi told their parents about how she didn’t have an evening gown to wear from the looks of it. The three of them had differing opinions, so they decided to send her one each.

After Qin Nuan received the clothes, she quickly sent a message into the family group chat. She sent a “Love you guys!” and a bunch of small heart emojis.

Qin Shi was the first one to start typing.
