Chapter 23 The Person Whom Lu Family Needs

When Lu Qingqiao returned home, Lu Xueru and her family had already moved out. The hired people had also left with them. Only the driver Old Li, his wife, Aunty Li, and an old chef were left.

The old chef was brought home by her grandfather when she was young. He had a deep relationship with the Lu family, so he would not leave unless there was a significant change.

Old Li and his wife had worked for the Lu family for ten years. They had been working since the Lu couple were alive.

Aunty Li looked at Lu Qingqiao while feeling troubled. “Indeed, the person who hired those people was Second Young Master Lu. Now that he moved away, they naturally had to follow him.”

Lu Qingqiao was sitting on the sofa and sending a message.

“Qingqiao,” Aunty Li suggested, “You’re usually so busy. Why don’t you leave the recruitment to me?”

She had been in the Lu family for so many years. When Lu Xueru and her family lived here, she was like a butler. Now that they were recruiting people, she was the most reliable person.

Lu Qingqiao was still typing. “There’s no rush. Aunty Li, you’re getting on in years. You don’t have to worry about these small things. Rest well. I’ll get someone to take care of this.”

Lu Qingqiao knew that Lu Wenjian had intentionally kept Aunty Li around.

She might be helpful in the future, but Lu Qingqiao would not give her more power in this family.

Aunty Li smiled while thinking she had done much for the family. For Lu Qingqiao’s sake, she said, “It’s just a matter of finding someone. It’s no trouble at all. Qingqiao, I don’t feel at ease leaving this matter to outsiders.”

Lu Qingqiao’s eyes relaxed when she saw the reply. She looked up at Aunty Li and said, “Aunty Li is right.”

Her words made Aunty Li happy, but then she heard her say, “So, I’m looking for someone familiar with this matter.”

Since Lu Qingqiao had already decided, Aunty Li could not say anything more. She could only wait for the acquaintance that Lu Qingqiao mentioned to arrive and use some tricks to make the other party back off. In the end, this task would still fall on her.

The following day, when Aunty Li came to the main house from the staff dormitory, she found people cleaning up the upper and lower floors. Some had already prepared a hot breakfast on the dining table.

Lu Qingqiao looked at Auntie Su and said, “Auntie Su, I’ll have to trouble you with the family matters in the future.”

“Don’t worry, CEO Lu.”

Only after Lu Qingqiao had finished breakfast and left the house did Aunty Li find an opportunity to ask Su Rong. She frowned. “What are you doing here?”

Su Rong had come to the Lu family half a year earlier than Aunty Li. Su Rong and Mrs. Lu, Lu Qingqiao’s mother, were as close as sisters back then. Two years ago, because her daughter-in-law got pregnant, she resigned and returned home to take care of her. Aunty Li did not expect her to come back.
