Chapter 57: The Familiar Figure At The Door
Ning Youyou picked out a white dress for the morning briefing, accompanied by her signature ponytail for an overall formal look. With all her necessary documents, she stepped into the principal office of Zhou Feng for her orientation.
With the help of her marketing manager, she finally joined the staff as a newcomer.
After a thorough office tour, she was brought to a corner that she could call her own.
Everything about the principal office was nothing like the office that she had worked in. All the staff members were given an office of their own. Hers was as spacious and comfortable as the general manager’s office back in BLOVE.
After the submission of her paperwork, she promptly left the office before everyone else from her batch.
Next Monday would be her official first day of work, so she still had three days to get herself prepared for the job.
She did not leave the building immediately. Instead, she stopped by the door and waited.
From time to time, she would look around in search of the familiar face that she had been eager to see.
Such conduct had caught the attention of the security guard, so he approached her for clarification.
“Oh, sorry. I work here. I’m actually waiting for a friend.”
The security guard sized her up, but he remained unconvinced until she showed him her staff pass. With enough convincing evidence, he then left her alone.
Waiting for a friend?

As a bodyguard to a senior executive, he would definitely show up in the building at some point. If she waited long enough, they might cross paths.
There was a bag in her hand, where a well-folded jacket was kept.
She waited here, especially for him, so that she could return the jacket to him personally.
She waited for half an hour, but the man was nowhere to be seen.
Perhaps he was not around in the office today.
Mu Shaoqing went down to the ground floor with the elevator that was reserved for his personal use. The board of directors was already downstairs waiting for him. They approached him as soon as the elevator door opened.
“Boss, this is the latest proposal for the company’s future development for your perusal. We have a project that’s worth millions, so it’d be great if you could set a direction for us.”
With great respect, the main man handed him the proposal.
Mu Shaoqing took the proposal and gave it a brief look before passing it to Tang An.
Tang An took a quick step forward to clear a way for Mu Shaoqing.
“Everyone, please step aside.” The board of directors did as told. It was no longer appropriate to keep their boss waiting.
A few steps later, Tang An caught sight of a familiar figure at the door and stopped walking. It all happened so abruptly that Mu Shaoqing almost ran into him.
“Tang An, since when did you get so reckless?” The impetuous act filled Mu Shaoqing with displeasure.
Apologetically Tang An stepped aside to get out of Mu Shaoqing’s way. “Boss, there’s someone at the door who looks like Ms. Ning,” he said with his voice lowered.
Mu Shaoqing stopped and observed.
He turned, following Tang An’s gaze, and saw the woman at the door, who seemed to be waiting for someone.
Her white dress was plain, and apparently, she did not have any makeup on, but her compelling attractiveness still caught Mu Shaoqing’s attention at first sight.
What is she doing here at his hour?
Mu Shaoqing was slightly upset to see her there.
“Tang An!”
Tang An heard his name being called. “Yes, Boss.”
Mu Shaoqing stood as cold and aloof as before. “All of you may leave now.”
Tang An answered with a nod. “Understood.”
