Chapter 55: Inside & Out

“Inside and outside?” Lu Zhanting raised a long, manicured eyebrow, adding, “I only know the exterior. I’ve yet to find out about the interior.”

“You!” As far as being thick-skinned and having the guts to make such crass comments, Yun Wei conceded defeat to him.

After all, she was still a pure, untouched young girl, and there were many things that she couldn’t bring herself to say out loud.

While Lu Zhanting would simply use comments like this to corner his prey.

Lu Zhanting leaned in toward Yun Wei’s ear and nibbled at her earlobe.

Every muscle in Yun Wei’s body tensed up as her legs gave way and made her unsteady on her feet.

“The exterior feels great to the touch…” Lu Zhanting smiled, his voice bewitching as he added, “I’m really looking forward to what the experience with the interior will be like. Also, I’m not sure exactly how…”

He trailed off, his deep, thick voice full of warmth and a hint of curious wonder.

Yun Wei raised her fist, which was promptly caught in his huge palm.

“Inside and out. I’m really looking forward to it.” Lu Zhanting released her hand, eyebrows raised.

Then, he turned around and left the room.

Yun Wei was left feeling dazed.

That man was just too much!

She cupped her face and massaged it vigorously. Eventually, the burning heat from her flushed cheeks dissipated.

Yun Wei quickly tidied her hair and adjusted her clothes.

Fortunately, Auntie Ji wasn’t staying with her and Lu Zhanting. Otherwise, if Auntie Ji had chanced upon them, she would’ve given Yun Wei a big lecture.

At that moment, Yun Wei smelled an aroma that made her salivate.

She immediately opened the door and went outside.

She looked in the direction of the kitchen and saw someone in a chef’s uniform. He was just removing something from the oven.

“Grilled lamb chops!” Yun Wei instantly became ravenous.

In the past three months, she hadn’t eaten anything good.

That was why, in the past few days since her recovery, she’d made up for it by eating a lot of delicious food.

However, because she didn’t have too much time to venture outside in search of good food, she hadn’t been able to eat her favorite dish: grilled lamb chops.

Sniffing the aroma in the air, she knew that these were top-quality lamb chops with tender meat, just the right amount of fat, and not too much grease. Flavored with onions and sprinkled with some cumin before serving, the taste was just sublime.

Lu Zhanting was already seated at the dining table.

He looked calm and serious. Looking at him, one would find it hard to believe that he was the same man who’d teased her aggressively and seductively in the room earlier.

What a big, bad wolf he was! Such good acting skills!

Despite criticizing him internally, Yun Wei was unable to resist the tempting aroma of the delectable food, so she walked quickly toward the dining table.

The chef had already served the lamb chops. “Master Ting, Miss Yun, please enjoy your meal,” he said politely and respectfully.

That said, he quickly walked out of the main door and pulled it shut behind him.

Yun Wei picked up her fork and knife and began to tuck in without a “by your leave.”

Although she ate very quickly and ravenously, she did not, however, forget the table etiquette that she’d been taught since young and didn’t lose her manners.

Lu Zhanting picked up his cutlery after she’d done so.

When they were almost done with their meal, Lu Zhanting picked up a sheet of paper and pushed it toward Yun Wei.

Yun Wei picked it up and read it before asking, “A water bill?”

“That bill is for you to settle,” Lu Zhanting replied matter-of-factly.

“Why?” Yun Wei recalled that Auntie Ji had already settled all the fees for this apartment, so why was this water bill specifically given to her to settle?

A look flashed in Lu Zhanting’s eyes, but it quickly disappeared as he responded, “Since the day I moved in here with you, I’ve taken more than a hundred cold showers, so you have to settle this bill.”

“Poohh…” Yun Wei almost spat out all the food in her mouth.
