Lu Wanwan quickly said, “Song Clinic.”

There was silence on the other end of the phone, “Come on, be more specific, you think I’d know the location of every hospital? I’m still not familiar with Manchester.”

“Are you planning to come alone?” She could tell from Bai Lingyun’s tone, he didn’t seem to intend to have a driver bring him.

He simply “hmmed” in agreement, then said, “It’s not convenient to bring anyone, I’ll drive myself. Send me your geographic location.”

At that sentence, she only heard silence in return.

“Hello?”

“It’s fine, I’ll be there soon. Don’t go anywhere for now.”

The male doctor looked over at her, washed his hands, then wiped the sweat beads from his forehead, “Miss, how did you come across the gentleman inside?”

Lu Wanwan felt as though she was being interrogated, as if suddenly, the stranger had gone from a patient the group of doctors didn’t want to deal with to one of their own.

Thinking they might know each other, she briefly recounted what had happened.

The doctor smiled, “Why haven’t you left yet? Just because you’re afraid the person you helped will die?”

Lu Wanwan sensed he was suspicious of something. Just as she was about to speak, he interrupted her, “You saw it too, he has a gunshot wound. Guns are prohibited in Manchester, and cases involving gunshot wounds usually aren’t good. Ordinary people would stay as far away as they could–why would you dare to stay?”

The doctor’s tone was not excessive, it was mild, but each sentence was questioning her.

Lu Wanwan had no intention of continuing to hide things, “I had planned to leave after bringing him in, but after seeing his face, I changed my mind. He must be somewhat related to a friend of mine, and I need to wait here for him to wake up.”

“A friend?”

“You’ll know when he gets here,” Lu Wanwan thought it pointless to defend herself here by saying she had directly called Bai Lingyun, as it may not be believed.

“Aren’t you worried we might think you’re involved with this gunshot wound?” The male doctor questioned her again, “Pretending to bring him here while also entering our hospital.”

“Isn’t this a hospital? A hospital that can’t be entered?”

The nurse shrugged, “We’re a private hospital, not open to the public. We only serve regular clients.”

Lu Wanwan looked back toward the emergency room, “How much longer until he wakes up? If he says he doesn’t want to see that person, I’ll have my friend leave.”

The male doctor just smiled and said nothing, but he also didn’t stop her.

After a while, the emergency room door opened, and the female doctor who had initially gone in came out.

She was wearing medical gloves stained with blood, and she held a bullet, “Luckily, it wasn’t deep. Go in and give a hand.”

Meanwhile, Doctor Song nodded toward someone in the distance. A young man came over, and she handed the bullet to him, “Check out this bullet.”
