Chapter 32: I Didn’t See Anything

Shi Tao no longer dared to indulge in his male charms. Her heart almost jumped out of her throat.

“Qin, Qin Zhan, so your legs are fine. What kind of miracle is this? Where did you find the godly doctor? I have a few paralyzed relatives in bed. Please introduce this godly doctor to me.” Shi Tao jumped around Qin Zhan with a face full of surprise, trying to use her impromptu jokes and explosive acting skills to successfully sway his thoughts.

However, it was obvious that Qin Zhan wouldn’t fall for it.

“If you keep acting crazy, I’ll send you to a mental hospital.” That one sentence successfully made Shi Tao stop her exaggerated actions, and her non-stop talking.

“Qin, Qin Zhan, I, I’m happy for you. Look, once your legs recover, you don’t have to be in a wheelchair anymore. You don’t have to endure the looks of discrimination from others anymore.. This is good news. We have to celebrate.”

Qin Zhan slowly sat on the wheelchair in the corner and sneered at the girl in front of him. “Ha, didn’t you find out long ago?”

“Discovered what? Qin Zhan, what are you talking about?”

“Shi Tao, since you want to act, you have to act thoroughly, got it? Otherwise, my knife won’t have any eyes.”

Shi Tao watched as Qin Zhan pulled out a long knife from the wall and held it in front of her. She nodded her head frantically. “I didn’t go to study tonight. I don’t know anything. I didn’t see anything.”

Shi Tao knew what Qin Zhan meant. It seemed like he had purposely exposed himself last night to let her find out. His motive was to threaten her ruthlessly and pull her onto his pirate ship. This guy really knows how to scheme. Shi Tao thought to herself with a dull gaze.

Initially, she had wanted to see if Third Master Qin would be able to reach an agreement with her. However, looking at Qin Zhan’s expression, as soon as she was a little disloyal, this person would really finish her off cleanly.

“Then get lost.”

Although she did not know why Qin Zhan let her off so easily, Shi Tao did not dare to disobey his orders. She immediately rushed out of the study room. Unexpectedly, she bumped into the butler. God, she was so unlucky. She’d just sworn she hadn’t been in the study, and now she’d run right into a witness.

“Young Madam, what happened?” Upon seeing Shi Tao’s anxious and afraid look, the butler hurriedly asked. He did not expect Shi Tao’s expression to turn even uglier.

Shi Tao waved her hand and did not dare to say another word. She quickly ran back to her room. Only when she was lying on her own sofa did Shi Tao’s heartbeat gradually calm down. She wiped the cold sweat off her forehead and clutched the blanket on her body nervously. Her lips trembled as she stared at the light above her head.

Although she would provoke Qin Zhan from time to time and even make fun of him arrogantly, that was only when she was bored and wanted to test Qin Zhan’s bottom line. Even if she had thought about joining the Third Master Qin today, it was only because she felt that she had suffered a loss from Qin Zhan. If Third Master Qin came to look for her, she would definitely hide far away. She might even ask Qin Zhan to help her deal with him.

Actually, she had never thought of getting involved with the Qin family. The Shi family never had any conflicts like those big families. However, that did not mean that she did not know how cruel the internal strife was.

Why wasn’t the Qin Family fulfilling their promise? Was it really going to take three to five years for them to remember their contracts only after they felt that she had become a qualified wife of the Qin Family?
