Chapter 367: Chapter 311 Task Completed
Inside the wooden house, Sonia placed Diya on a reclining chair and also came over to watch Ash and Denzel’s problem.
“Do I know her too?” Ash pointed at the girl with an eye patch in the painting, looking a bit puzzled.
Ash hadn’t expected his question to be the same as Denzel’s, and even the image used was an option from Denzel’s first question.
This question was obviously tailored for Denzel, but he could answer it too?
The Observer didn’t speak, merely nudged his lips towards Diya.
Seeing Diya’s appearance, Ash was at a loss for words–Diya looked exactly like the girl with the eye patch; he really couldn’t say he had never seen the girl with the eye patch.
“Speaking of which, in that last question, there was a person who appeared four times, looking exactly like my little sister (Diya),” Sonia analyzed. “Among them, the black and white girl is my sister herself, and the Princess is my sister’s grandmother. Following this logic, the Basement Girl and the girl with the eye patch should also be relatives of my sister.”
“The girl with the eye patch could have three possible identities: the Missionary Saint, the secret strategist, or the embodiment of the Gospel… Speaking of which, my sister’s grandmother even wished for her to become the God of Mankind…”
Sonia suddenly got stuck. She remembered the poor little girl in the painting, who could only study, and her lips naturally pouted, almost able to hang a teapot: “That’s quite a remarkable background.”
“Don’t be jealous,” Ash comforted her. “Although she comes from a distinguished family, you still have me!”
Sonia stared blankly at Ash, and Ash flashed a beaming smile with glistening teeth.
Then Sonia slumped into the armchair as if her spine had been removed, her gaze listlessly set upon the cabin’s ceiling, a picture of misery written across her face: “I dare not imagine the tragic life I will face once I get my memories back…”
“Hey, at least trust your own taste before the amnesia!”
Denzel, observing Ash and Sonia, suddenly said, “Putting other things aside, the two of you must truly be lovers.”
Ash and Sonia were taken aback. Although their time together was short, they could tell that Denzel was the kind of person who spoke with thoughtful consideration, not one to speak rashly without full confidence, the complete opposite of someone like Ash, who, at the sight of a bare arm, could immediately jump to all sorts of wild fantasies.
“Why?”
“Because even after amnesia, you are still able to engage in conversations of high density with absolutely no information, which means your personalities have been shaped and tempered by time, allowing you to become whole entities that comfort each other under any circumstance.”
Although they received Denzel’s affirmation, Ash and Sonia merely responded with an ‘oh’, feeling no emotional wave inside. Not to mention Ash, even Sonia was so used to being called a ‘lover’ that she had come to accept the role; the term no longer caused her the blushing embarrassment it might for a young girl.
What’s more, they both understood Denzel’s implication–stop dawdling and answer the question.
“I think the second option, the First Emperor’s secret strategist, is the most likely,” said Sonia.
Ash nodded, “I feel the same way.”
Denzel was unsurprised, “Is it because she took the codename ‘Empress’ for herself?”
Undoubtedly, the greatest source of intelligence inside this wooden house was the Phantoms, who possessed all of their memories, and the codenames they chose were definitely a critical basis for deduction.
Like ‘Sword Maiden’, suggesting at least that Sonia was most skilled at swordsmanship; like ‘Witch’, implying Diya was probably quite mischievous; like ‘Observer’, implying Ash… liked to watch the excitement?
And the codename with the most information was without doubt ‘Empress’, which meant that Denzel in reality was likely also a sovereign who held absolute power and liked lying drunk across Ash’s lap.
And ‘the First Emperor’s secret strategist’ in option two was just related to a sovereign.
Without any additional information, this option had the highest probability.
“Wait a minute.” Sonia suddenly spotted a gap in Ash’s deductions, “A sovereign and a lover don’t seem to be compatible roles, right?”
“Who says!” Ash retorted vehemently, “Having a lover who is an Empress would only excite me more!”
Sonia countered angrily, “Even if you’re willing, she might not be!”
“I’m willing, though,” Denzel surprisingly said, “Worldly status won’t stop me from pursuing love, but…” Denzel looked at Ash and Sonia, “If I truly am an Empress who controls worldly power, then I would lock up my dearest love, annihilate all of his associates, forbid anyone from approaching him, and never allow him to leave me. I want to be his only one.”
Listening to this, Ash got goosebumps and suddenly felt a surge of respect for his pre-amnesiac self–how did you end up attracting such a woman? Could it be that you were chased after?
No, if she really is my lover, I need to think of a strategy after leaving this wooden house, at the very least, to form an alliance with my lover–
Ash turned his head, his forehead marred by several black lines: “Why are you staying so far from me?”
Sonia had unconsciously retreated to Diya’s side, who was still unconscious, and stated solemnly, “I now have to look after her and can’t come close to you. Besides, you already have an Empress as your lover, so I think it’s better if we’re apart for now.”
“Cowardly and afraid to die!” Ash lamented with profound sorrow, “Isn’t true love about sharing weal and woe, living and dying together, travelling through fortune and calamity side by side, sticking together in good times and bad, in wealth and poverty, in health and sickness, in joy and sorrow, never parting? Lover, you are betraying our love like this!”
